Dec 5, 2010 ~ 4 nights on the Wonder!

Hi everyone. We're 3 first-time cruisers very excited to be on this trip. All of us are 'young at heart' but our youngest chronological age is early 50's.

We'd like to join you for the on board get-together. We're just learning about the FE --perhaps we're too late to be included ? We're scrambling with last minute preparations and would not be able to do anything very elaborate, but we'd like to bring something along for the kids in any event.
AHOY Maties!!!
we are older cruisers too!! Welcome! we will be in 6126!!! hope to meet you while onboard! :-)

maybe those who've been on before can suggest a good spot..we should at least get something concret by mid November...

WELCOME CHESSRCAT!!

I will add you to the FE list...I'm not sure about some of the other folks on the list if they will be participating but I'm going to go back and BOLD those in RED who will be..

we are also participating! we are in 6126!!

Are there any adults on our FE list that do not drink? Except for your DD Shadowryter because she's 20 right?

MommaMouse thanks for letting me know!:thumbsup2 I'd rather give items that people want than something that either offends or won't be useful.

Also, our cabin # is 7129.......:goodvibes

I have my FE made! :cool1: I was sooooooooo proud when I finished it......then my DD goes and ruins my excitement with her preschooler art project comment :sad1: Oh-well! I love it!

We are staying at the Country Inn and Suites the night before and we were thinking about eating dinner at Rusty's........hmmmmmm I hear mixed reviews so it will be a last minutes decision.

I say we meet at the Promenade Lounge, I think it was mentioned before.....what is everyone's suggestion on a time? I was thinking before the mandatory drill thingy.......suggestions?

is country inn the place where you can park your car there..because if so that's were I'm going to try and book the end of next week...however we will be going to DTD first and eating at TREX....

Cheryl! post a pic of your FE!! i'm curious now..

I'm down to meet where-ever...so I vote yes on cheryl's idea...now I have to look for the pRomenade lounge..

question: what time is everyone on the ship? I know they said 1:30 you don't get into your cabin but when do they cut off boarding.

We're staying at the Radisson the night before and are taking the 10:30 a.m. shuttle to the port. Not sure where we will eat the night before but since we'll be coming in from St. Augustine it's sure to be local. I also found this on the DCL cruise site:

Promenade Lounge is a 104-seat lounge located on Deck 3, Aft situated off the elevator lobby on the Disney Wonder. Open from approximately noon to midnight daily, Promenade Lounge is the perfect place for families to enjoy a refreshing beverage or snack, surf the Internet or partake in fun activities that occur throughout the day.

Sounds good to me.:goodvibes

Yes...only 20. Dh and I are planning to take her to Mohegan Sun & Foxwoods next year for her 21st. She'll get her first drink and some gambling our of her system under the watchful eyes of her parents and she doesn't mind at all.:goodvibes

When I get home from work today I'll take a pic and post it of my FE........but you guys have to promise not to laugh! :rotfl2:

I was looking through the previous posts and Skoi had recommended us meeting at Promanade Lounge around 3pm. That should give us time to board the ship....eat then meet and then get to the mandatory "how not to drown" drill :scared1: Let me know if that sounds like a good time......and everyone bring your cameras, maybe we can get a group photo in :goodvibes

Shadowryter....I've heard of Foxwoods, but can you believe that I have never gambled!? I've never even played lotto.....I keep meaning to plan a trip to Vegas or somewhere like that for my husband and I, but then I decide to go to Disney.....I guess I'm just a Disney Dork:earsgirl:

Linda, I saw that online and saw that they do little dances and stuff, my 2yr old loves to dance...so this might be a hangout for us throughout the stay...

also, I'm feeling like I should've did a back to back cruise..lol!!!! I'm starting to think 4 days is not going to be enough for me...

and I found a hotel that will let me check in early the day we get off the boat!! so we will be heading to MVMCP that night!!!

Hey MommaMouse...we're going to MVMCP the 9th also. Only we'll be a bit late as we have dinner ressie's at Narcoossee's. But we will be spending that whole day after the cruise at Magic Kingdom, after we check into the Contemporary:cool1:

Well I'm not a gambler. I think I've been to a casino maybe 3 times??? I love playing the slots...but my dh took me to Mohegan Sun a couple of years ago for my birthday. We had a suite overlooking the river and had cake and champagne and that time I got hooked on video poker....but just for the evening.:rotfl:I guess when it comes down to it...I'd rather be a Disney Dork!!!:thumbsup2By the way...glad I could help with your designs...now for my FE. And even though I can craft and sew, I found someone online that makes some really nice ones. So I'm off to Ebay.:goodvibes

I wish I could go to MVMCP:sad1: I have to get off the boat and rush back to Gainesville so my daughter can play in her Holiday Concert.

Thanks again for the DISigns Shadowryter!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone ! 3 in the Promenade Lounge sounds great - should be good practice finding our way around the ship.

Is it okay if I send a PM to those of you participating in the FE ?

I lived in st louis so I was always in the casinos. Only thing I like about carni al besides thr cheap prices is the craps table!!!

Chessrcat: u can PM me.

I'm really very sorry about this guys, but I'm going to have to graciously bow out of the FE.

My husband and I received some terrible news yesterday and dealing with this issue is going to take up a lot of our free time. I had started buying candy...stickers and such but I will just not be able to complete the gifts the way I would feel comfortable.

I still have the candy though, so I would like to drop that off for everyone even though I won't be on the list. I bought it for you guys and I want to make sure the children get it.

Again, I am so sorry. :guilty:

oh no cheryl..I hope all is okay!!!

I'm still going to give you your gift! so look out for it on the cruise..
