Dec 5, 2010 ~ 4 nights on the Wonder!

I am so UNprepared for this cruise! We leave in 2 weeks for WDW and I have done nothing with this cruise since the day I book (in March)! Everytime I try to get on the DCL website I get an apache tomcat error! I have tried on my laptop, my wife's laptop, our house computer, and my in-laws computer and I get the error on every one of them! I called the 800 number and was told all the stuff I have to do is online. They transferred me to someone who was supposed to help me, and after 50 minutes on hold, I hung up! I sure hope the cruise (if I even will be allowed on it), will be better then this.

Sure seems like everytime I called with a payment, there was no problems. And now that they have my money, its kinda like who gives a ...

Hanover:

A couple of posts back Shadowryter had asked how we were going to identify each other in Promenade Lounge........we thought that maybe santa hats would be also worn by other groups so we decided to wear one of those christmas necklaces with a sleigh bell at the end.

I am so ready for this cruise everyone!!!!! I'm also ready for Thanksgiving....but I just like to eat! :woohoo:

Ok.....not counting today we have............

12 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Sorry, just had to share my excitement!

MommaMouse......LOL!!!!! The Jingle Jangle Crew! I love it!!!!!

Thanks MommaMouse411 for doing the list! Now I will have to switch things around, but it is better now than on the ship.
My daughter Debbie still has not received any cruise documents, I emailed my TA and she said that as long as she has printed out the cruise contract and the other form, that she will be ok. I am going to email her today just to find out.
Just 11 more days for me, we are staying overnight at the Cape the night before the cruise. My daughter Debbie is going on the 3rd of December. My daughter Dawn is going on the 5th of December. See you all at the meet, 3pm in the promenade lounge!

Thanks for the FE list. All of our information is correct. Our room is located between midship and aft on the starboard side of deck 2. I was looking at the other FE participants and I think a majority are on deck 7 and 6. That will make drop offs easy!

I can hardly concentrate now at work without my mind drifting to vacation. Next week it will be even worse!! We have 11 days left until our flight!!!!

The boys are off school from tomorrow until next Tuesday and will be back for only 3.5 days when we leave! Too bad we didn't know the school schedule when we booked our trip or we could have gone an extra week to WDW!

my poor step sister has to study on board for finals when she goes back to school on the 13th. but she is so excited she has this week off and then another whole week when we cruise...

I too am at work and my mind is just not focused....

My son and Beth's son are in 8th grade and no finals for them. They just finished their first quarter about 3 weeks ago. I'm hopingmy boys don't get too much homework, but if they do, they'll work on it on the plane ride down to MCO and the first day in Orlando. Usually the teachers are really good about giving them just the right amount of work to keep up with the class and they can make it up in 4-5 hours. The teachers will give them the same # of days to make up work that they were gone if they do not get work in advance. I just hope Keegan (ds13) does his math on the way to BWI airport and can leave his huge math binder in the car at the airport. I don't want to have to pack the parents Algebra 2 answer key!

Hi Everyone,
Just want to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!
Won't be around much the next couple of days, I'll be busy getting ready for the holiday.
See you later.

Happy (early) Thanksgiving everyone!

I have lots of baking to do tonight and getting the table set for tomorrow. We are hosting it this year.

Anyone plan on shopping on Black Friday? We may venture out but not looking for anything specific. I've done most of the boy's Christmas shopping and will pretty much be buying gift cards for the rest of my list.

Busy week next week. We have hair cuts, my surgeon appt to see if I get out of my boot, finishing up a weeks worth of work in 2 days for me and then packing sometime before Friday at noon.

I looked at accuweather and sail away should be decent. 65 and mostly sunny in Orlando and then in the low 80's in Nassau.

I see the space shuttle is set to take off in the early morning (around 2:30 I think) on 12/3. I hope it's delayed a day or two so we can see it. We've been on a cruise where it was set to take off the day of sail away and Cocoa was jam packed. It didn't take off for 2 more days and it was a night launch. The captain on the Wonder said there was a 90% chance of delay and he'd announce if it was going off. We went to dinner and no one in the dining rooms knew it took off since you couldn't hear announments in there. Someone that had late dining filmed it from the outisde decks and posted it on Youtube so it was cool to see. We saw lots of launches when I lived in Orlando as a child but I wanted my sons to see it.

Hi all and an early Happy Thanksgiving. I also have a lot of baking and cooking to do today and can you beleive it, the new freezer I had delivered on the morning of the 22nd, died last night and they can't send someone out until the 29th???So glad we hung onto the old one or all that food would be spoiled.:scared1:Got quite a scare as DH hurt his back at work Friday night. Poor guy was in agony over the weekend. Luckily I was able to get him to see our Chiropractor and he's already about 90 percent better.:banana:This is the closest I've ever come to canceling a trip but he's a trooper and won't let anything stop him. We leave on Wednesday and we're all excited. I just finished lugging the suitcases up stairs and the cat is getting nervous because she knows something's up.:cat::lmao:
Hanover it would be so cool to see the shuttle take off but with our luck it will leave as scheduled. Hey we will be in Saint Augustine on the 3rd. Any chance of catching it from there???Hope you get that boot off before the cruise. I'm sending pixie dust your way. pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:Well take care everyone. See you soon.:goodvibes

I'm not sure if you can see the shuttle from St. Augustine. I know when I lived in Orlando, they'd let us out of class to watch it on the playground and you could see the smoke streaming up and a dot of the shuttle. We'd often go to Cocoa and watch it from an area right across the water (it's now condos). From my grandma's house in St. Petersburg, you could see it a little too so maybe you can see it from St. Augustine. How far is that from Orlando? Thanks for the good luck wishes about the boot.

I'm glad to hear your husband's back is on the mend. Sorry about your freezer. I'm just holding my breath that nothing in our 8 year old house breaks on this trip. We lost all the food from our fridge and freezer on our last two trips! Both times it was fans that we needed replaced.

If anyone needs lanyards for on the ship, I have about 10 of them left over from past cruises. We'll get new ones at check (previous cruisers get them) in so I really don't need the extras. They may say Disney Vacation Club or Gold/Platinum Castaway Club members, but at least they are free to anyone that wants them.

You can see the shuttle take off from St. Augustine. Your best bet will be to get on the beach.......but unless you're staying on the beach they might not let you on.

With night time (or early morning launches) we can see them from our town..........2 hrs. away:goodvibes

I really hope it waits until the night of the 4th or evening of the 5th, we love watching them take off! We also like going outside when they land in Florida, there are two sonic booms when they enter the atmosphere.....and that is REALLY cool!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! It's getting close and I'm getting EXCITED!!!!!!!!:hyper:

Wow! It's almost time to go! I'm off all next week and wish I could head on down but my travel partner can't! I'll probaly pack
And re pack all week!!! Lol looking forward to meeting you all!!!

I just wanted to drop by and say hello! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I can't believe this cruise is basically one week away! It seems like for the past year I have planned and planned for the cruise.........I'm gonna have to find a new hobby after we get off the boat!

Did anyone watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and see the Sailor Mickey float????? That got me even more pumped for the cruise!

I can't wait to meet everyone!

We watched the Macy's Thanksgiving parade too and love Sailor Mickey. We had a great day and have had fun shopping and seeing a couple movies the last few days. We saw Tangled today and loved it.

My ds9 has been ripping off a chain each day from his countdown chain and it's getting rather small fortunately!

Monday we are hoping to pack since the boys are off of school. They'll only go back 3.5 days and then we are off to MCO! It's going to be a very busy week for us.

I got really sick and tired of my walking boot today and even though I am still supposed to have it on until I see my surgeon on Wednesday, I went to the mall, bought new very cushy sneakers and I'm wearing a left shoe for the first time in 10 weeks. I'm hoping to get some strength back in it and be able to even wear sandals on the cruise. Wishful thinking but why not? As long as I go slow and walk with the weight on my heel I can do it and it feels great!!

I'm getting our FE stuff ready and wanted to know if there were any last minute changes to our list? I know the last one we weren't sure of a couple families and if they were participating?

I also saw that the shuttle is now not taking off until the 17th at the earliest.

See you all in a week!

If anyone belongs to Sam's Club, some locations have $100 Disney gift cards for $98 something and a $10 "free" gift card for Disney Stores in each gc packet. We just bought 10 and plan to pay our dining plan before/after the cruise and our on board tips with them. Now we have $100 to spend in the Disney Store for "free."

@ Hanover thats so cool!!!

I'm not a club member yet.

So I'm totally nervous now that the cruise is coming up here in a week.

I got friday off and I have a ton to do...I'm going to drop off the kids early at daycare and start my day shopping, then at noon go get haircut, eyebrows done, mani-pedi...then go home clean house, pack all the bags and get the car packed and organized.
