Dec 5, 2010 ~ 4 nights on the Wonder!

my understanding it docks (no tenders)...

but I'm not getting off at bahamas...we are going to have fun on the ship...

I am not having any luck downloading my videos from my camcorder!!!!!! I will try again this weekend if not I'll have to buy another chip!! ugh!!

PrincessSharon, you are right, Jordak is a guy, he told me so on another board. I guess he is taking a time out, hope you already have your designs done by him.
Mommamouse, I am glad the Wonder docks!
See you all soon!!!!!!!!:cool1::woohoo::banana::yay::wave2::boat::sail:pluto::smickey:
Can you tell I just found the 'more' button below the smilies?

I'm almost packed!!! I already have my passpot although we arent getting off in Nassau...just want to enjoy the ship! Mailed my last Christmas packages off yesterday! It's almost here! I found out I'm going to be off the week before so i'M BUMMED ABOUT THAT! means less mad money , but this will be the longest time I've been off ever! Boy will I be relaxed !!! Looking forward to meeting you all! Janet PSS My shipmate's name is Claire

Mommamouse is correct, the ship will pull right up to the dock in Nassau. It's about a 5 minute walk to the straw market. We've done the dolphin excursion, pirate museum and Atlantis on past trips so we'll probably just walk around the nearby stores and then take advantage of a quiet ship. My friend Beth and I plan on going to the spa for the $125 massage/facial/rainforest room special they run.

We are down to leaving in 16 days!!!

so last night I was trying to pack my shoes and I had to use one whole bag for shoes!!!!!!!!

I wonder what they consider a carry on? Like a book bag is a carry on? or one suitcase/duffel bag and bookbag and purse????? and can I bring one bag for each kid on board?

Nothing is really fitting right into my suitcases...the FES are not all fitting in one suitcase, and then I have a big duffel bag with all the knick knacks, like handheld puree thingy for the baby, the two suitcases for the boys stuff. and then my gigantic suitcase...I WASS going to bring a case of water but now I'm not. Just going to have to buy them on board. I'm just nervous, I don't really care about bringing too much stuff, I just want to make sure that they have CMs there to help me move all the suitcases when I drop them off at the port.

I wish it was thanksgiving day so I can gobble up my food and watch christmas movies. then I can really officially pack... :happytv:

i have another question...do we put our names on the FE gifts or is it like secret santa?

I just realized I didn't make any gift tags to put on the items but I don't really have any where to put them on the gifts.

Also I will be dropping off my gifts on the day of Nassau since I will be on the ship...I will try and do it later in the afternoon...

Hey MommaMouse!

I didn't put gift tags on my gifts for the kids, I thought it was more of a secret santa thing........maybe I'm wrong :confused3

I think a carry on is a duffel bag or small suitcase....but remember you have to tote it around until your room is available. I would bring something to hang from the stroller......plus I think you can bring one carry on person, if your stepsister isn't bringing a carry on maybe she can tote something too. I don't think purses count as carry on....at least I hope not!

I believe there are porters at the port that take your luggage, are you parking or taking a shuttle?? If you're parking you can drop your step sister off with the luggage, then park. That way y'all aren't trying to drag everything through the parking lot.

Just wanted to come in and say hi to everyone! We have been going back and forth on whether we are doing this Wonder cruise, but today it became official that we will be on it! It's still up in the air if we are adding the 3-night right after, but we are happy just to get to go on the Wonder.

It will just be me and my sister...It will be my 13th disney cruise, and her first! We are planning to do Mickey's Christmas party right after. So excited!!! :goodvibes

Hi CherylSue, Love the wreath. You did a great job.:cool1:Sorry I've been mia but in one week my bathroom light switch shorted out, then my kitchen pipe burst, and my DD's boyfriend of 4 years broke up with her. She is absolutely shattered and I've just been trying to be there for her. I'll finish up my FE gifts today and already have things in my suitcase just have to rearrange things and cut down on what I have. We will be gone a total of 17 days so I think I'll be doing laundry on the last day of our cruise. I ordered a special cake for our anniversary celebration at Cali Grill yesterday and ordered a birthday cake for DH and slipper dessert for DD this morning. We're doing MVMCP on the 9th and have added the special Christmas showing of Arabian Nights to our Universal stay. We leave on Dec 1st. I can't wait. But one sad note...The Flying Dutchman will not be there. It is being dismantled and removed from Castaway Cay. Rumors going around...It's falling apart...It's going back on set for POTC 4....It will be repalced with the Black Pearl???Who knows. But so:sad2:. We really wanted our picture taken with the FD.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO don't say that..I can't believe that...one of the main things I wanted to see was the Flying Dutchman!!!!!!!!!!

that's it the trip is ruined.

:lmao:

so wait you are doing a cruise tomorrow and then another cruise in couple weeks?

if so that's sounds like too much fun

Well that just stinks that the Flying Dutchman won't be there! My DD was really wanting to see it! I guess we are going to have to drown our sorrows at the BUFFET! :lmao:

Great job on the wreath Cherylsue.

I have to remember to dig out our door magnets sometime this weekend.

In terms of the FE names I'd say we've participated in FE's about 8-10 times and probaby 85-95% of the time people have put to/from tags on them. I just put little stickers on bags usually with names and stateroom #'s so I know we don't miss anyone.

Michelle2- Welcome! This is also our 13th DCL cruise and we are going to MVMCP on the 9th too!

Mommamouse, are you referring to DCL about the carry ons or an airline? I've never seen anyone denied carrying in any amount of carry ons through security at DCL. I've seen people take their smaller sized luggage through and not leave them at the luggage drop offs and others bring tons of stuff through. We leave our suitcases at the luggage drop off and then take our back packs with us. We bring swim suits for the kids and our lap top, and other valuables. You do have to carry them around until the rooms are ready about 1:30. We usually get to the terminal early to take pictures and just soak in all of DCL. Once we board, we head up to the 9th deck and the kids/dh will eat something from Plutos, Pinnochios or BBB and I get Goofy's Galley (love their ham panini and fresh fruit) and they swim for a bit before we go to the room. Our luggage is usually in our stateroom by the end of the lift vest drill.

Wow, I didn't know the Flying Dutchman was leaving. We have only been on one DCL cruise without it. I wonder with the Dream being so much bigger if they would have had to move it too?

so wait you are doing a cruise tomorrow and then another cruise in couple weeks?

if so that's sounds like too much fun

My ticker is wrong (just too lazy to change it this close LOL), we cruise on the Thanksgiving cruise on the 20th and leaving for Orlando early Friday.

SO excited! I was just so happy to get to go on this cruise, I had to come in and say hi to everyone! :)

@ Hanover..I contacted my travel agent and he said its cool to bring all the stuff as carry on but again I would have to lug all that stuff around..that's ok..I'm used to carrying tons of bags (at work I'm the bag lady, I carry my laptop bag, my nursing bag/bottles, my mickey mouse tote bag and then any other bag that might have work stuff since I work in two different offices, and I have 3 kiosks I manage at 3 different locations)

I packed all my magnets in my suitcase last night and I looke through all the shoes in my shoe bag and guess what, I still need a pair of shoes with one of my dresses, I need white strappy heels, what! I thought I had some and I think I gave them to salvation army or something!!!

also my travel agent said I can bring my handheld steamer but it has to go in my checked in luggage.

so I think now i'm not too worried about the luggage situation..except maybe how to get them all in my car my little suv..I might end up taking the F150 so everything can fit.

oh and I'm going to take some bottled water on board just going to dump them all in a bag.

and I also stopped at walgreens this morning and found a mickey mouse wreath for $8 and a Lightning McQueen snuggie (not a real snuggie) for $13!!!

Mommamouse--double check on the regular forum about the steam iron. I am pretty sure I've read they cannot be used and may be confiscated. There are ironing boards and irons in the laundry room but they can get busy, especially right before dinner. I usually keep my stuff in the dry cleaning bags and roll what I can to help prevent wrinkles when packing. I hang everything up immediately upon getting our luggage. I bring some travel size Downy Wrinkle Release and will hang stuff in the bathroom while we shower to steam it some more. My husband's sent off his stuff to the onboard cleaners for ironing and it was a couple of dollars and back to our room before dinner.

I would suggest bringing along an extension cord and 6 prong outlet if you have a lot of stuff to charge up because there aren't many outlets at all. There are some near the desk in the room. The ones in the bathroom are for razors only. We have used the one behind the tv if you pull it forward.

I'm still not sure if I'll be in this walking cast/boot or not so I may have to wait to pack dinner clothes until December 1 when I see my surgeon. Even if I can walk without it then (at this point I still can't walk without pain), I'm not so sure I'll be very good in my heels. He suggested sneakers only but no way am I wearing sneakers with a dress. I love to get dressed on cruises so I'm bummed if I'm going to be only in pants and tops. I just keep reminding myself I'm lucky to have my foot and it's a minor inconveniene I'll forget about in time.

We've bought cases of water before near the port and put them in the sides/bottom of our rolling duffle bags. You used to be able to just put a luggage tag on the cases but they stopped that last year. We purchased a case of water on the Magic in Europe and the Baltic and it was around $45. Last year when Beth and I took our oldest boys on a kids sail free special we booked last minute we took refillable bottles and just filled up a cup at the drink station and poured them in the bottles. Gave us more $ for the adult beverages!

I think I missed some sort of post about us all wearing bell necklaces? I read a post yesterday about being able to identify our group in the terminal with them? Can someone please clarify?
