Dec 5, 2009 -- now traveling to Tortola

Has anyone been able to stay behind on a DCL excursion? We are doing the Coral World excursion on St. Thomas and have heard about Coki beach that is right at Coral World. I was wondering if we could stay at Coral World longer and possibly spend some time at the beach or if we stay booked with DCL we have to return to the ship with them.

Thanks!

Can't believe the cruise is so close! I have tons to do when we get back home from Thanksgiving!!

We have taken 2 DCL excursions you check in before going but on the return you just go back on the ship or go other places so staying there shouldn't be an issue but you would need to pay a taxi on the way back . We are just planning on going to Coki beach and it is $9.00 per person one way. Renee

There are 6 of us total. My family of 4, myself, the hubby and daughter 5, and son 3. The hubby and I have been on Disney a couple times in the past and my daughter once. This will be my son's first time and our first time using the children's area. We are going with a friend and her daughter 5, they are both first timers on the Disney Cruise. We all live in Florida near WDW.

I'll looking forward to getting to know everyone and can't believe it is almost here!!! :cool1:

:welcome: We live near WDW too in Davenport.....9 days till we sail.....:cool1: It will be my hubby Ron and myself Renee....

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! If I don't get a chance to get back on prior to the trip I'll see you in 9 days. Safe travels everyone!!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Only a week to go til we travel:banana::dance3::cheer2:
I am looking forward to meeting all of you! :cool1::cool1::cool1:
After our Thanksgiving company leaves, we need to start packing. I need the guest room for our staging area. I figured the guests would like to use be able to sleep in the guest room bed:rotfl2:
Safe travels to everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

We hope to start and finish packing this weekend. We had to keep the guest room clean through everyone coming today. After that I can stack all our stuff to pack all over!! We will leave for Florida in exactly 1 week. I can't wait. It's done nothing but rain here for days and I'm hoping to see a little (or a lot) of sunshine!

Again, welcome! It's great to meet you! We're also a group of 6, but it's Mom, Dad, DS8,DD6,DS2.75(Hopefully getting into Oceaneer Club) and DG75 (my mom). It's our 1st Disney Cruise, but 5th cruise overall, 2nd for the kiddies.
Click on Hadley's links (NHDisneymom) for the schedule of our meet and greet for Sunday morning. We're all having breakfast at Lumiere's together. If you have lunch planned, maybe still join us for a coffee and join in the group photo.

One week from right now, we'll be sitting in Atlanta Airport after our 1st flight from Buffalo, NY. (We're driving to Buffalo from Canada on Wednesday night). Can't wait to get started:banana::cool1:

I'm sure DD6 (Holly) will enjoy meeting the 2 girls in your group and DS2.75 (Peter, or 'Speedy') will enjoy spending time in 'parallel play' with your DS.

Let's Go Now!:dance3::yay::yay:

I am in complete and total freak out mode now. Martinair changed their baggae policy. It was that anything not in continantal Europe got two bags per person when we booked (we booked before they had actually started trips to the USA last month). NOW it is anything other than continental Europe and the uSA gets to bags but USA only gets one! Thankfully we only have 5 between us but I really do not know how I can possibly get it down to four!
Doncha hate it when they change the rules that you agreed to at the start of your voyage? I guess you already tried to talk to them about that? Don't know about your FE items, but maybe one more packet of laundry soap and a 1 or 2 less items of clothing for each of you? We're bringing soap along with us in a couple of ziplocks for laundry on the go. (Just hope customs and TSA don't mistake our 'white powder' with something else:cool1:)

Will they not grandfather you as of the time you purchased the ticket ... that is what American did with us when they changed the baggage fee rules after we had bought a ticket. From a "contract" perspective, I would be somewhat surprised if they did not grandfather you.

Happy Thanksgiving all!

And this time next week, I will be :scared1: FREAKING OUT  trying to make sure that I didn't forget anything, that I have sunscreen and any possible OTC for the kiddos if they get sick :wizard: Here's hoping they don't need it.

OOOPS: I am on the lap top & I forgot my screen name. This is dh's acct.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We're celebrating with family at Myrtle Beach and the crazy children spent a couple hours in the freezing ocean (must be 64 or so) and are now in the even colder pool. At least it is warm (70 or so?? and sunny today). Can't wait for warm Caribbean waters! Not long now! This time next week, the van should be packed (with nothing being forgotten!) and we'll be heading south as soon as DH gets home after work.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!!! This time next week we'll be at WDW getting ready to go to the MVMCP! Yay!

I spent the day wrapping a few more Christmas gifts and writing out invitations for our annual Christmas party (they need to get mailed tomorrow!). Soon we leave to go have Thanksgiving dinner with family.

Best wishes to all and safe travels!

Hi all. I hope you are all having a wonderful time stuffing yourselves full of turkey and visiting with family. We tried the big chain hotels (Holiday Inn and Marriot) and a couple of places near the American bases trying to find a Thanksgiving meal but none was to be had. We are missing the day with our nieghbors and their families more than anything anyway. We decide dto at least eat at the American style diner. I had a turkey melt in honour of the holiday;)

Barry and texdisneygal--thanks for the advice. We were already plannig on doing laundry (DVC untis have free in the unit washer and drier:woohoo:), etc. I tried calling and being grandfathered right away. It is a weird situation. When we booked, he airline had not yet actually started to fly to the USA (they started in October). At the time we booked the posted policy was that "flights to/from countries outside of continental Europe" got two free checked bags. Now they list every country seperatly and everyone outisde of Europe other than the USA gets two bags but the USA gets one. The person on the phoen insists the policy did not change--there simply was no policy for flights to America at the time I booked. I contend that if, on the day I book, there is a policy that says "all coutnries outside of continental Europe" that this includes the USA. I basically got a very nice "I can see your point but we can do nothign on the phone, you can try to sweet talk the check-in agent though; it might work" answer. I have us into four bags now and I need to borrow a scale to make sure they are all light enough (one has me worried). It is doable, but I really did not need to spend half the day repacking at this point. I am jsut really glad I happened to look at it again (because I couldn't read my notes to see if the larger bag could be 23 or 25 kilos:rotfl:). Once i got over the initial shock I handeld it okay:rolleyes1

They loved playing in the water a couple of years ago for T'giving. You couldn't catch me to do it but the kids loved it!:lmao:

Just realizing we are leaving in 6 days!!! So much to do including the 14 hour drive!!! Although I will be exhausted day one, what better place to recuperate! I cannot wait to meet all of you! Have a safe trip!

Per one of her posts this week, she's already at the airport Heading to America. :yay:

This board is already slowing down, and we're still a week away from the cruise!:rolleyes1

Well, in case we don't see you online, we'll see you on the ship in 8 days!:cool1:

Has anyone ever stayed at the Renissance?

My elderly 82 year old Mom fell this am. The paramedics were unable to lift her and had to call back ups. She has arrived at the hospital.

My younger sister ~ the ROCK ~ is on her way to be with Mom.

I am trying NOT to freak out! Thanks for your prayers.
