Dec 4, 2011 Dream

We will probably be doing PALO brunch if there is availability. We can call at the 105 mark. We enjoyed the Palo brunch on sea day. We arent doing Remy or Palo dinner because our friends havent done a disney cruise before and havent experienced the new dinning rooms.

Just curious why you dont take Disney transportation right from your Disney resort.:confused3

To get to port earlier and get on the ship earlier than we would if we waited for the bus from our resort without having to pay extra for a town car.

HI KAREN no hurry when ever you can give the info for FE would be great. I still dont know our cabin yet.

Here is a suggestion for KAREN and JULIA. I think I read this right. Both of you are on late dinning. If you want to be at same teble why dont you LINK your ressies. We do that every year on our member cruise so we can sit with the same 8 people. You have to know each others ressie number and one of you call DCL and have the 2 ressies linked together.

First, THANK YOU to DVC Deernut for taking on the task of organizing the FE! I stand corrected! Oops! Oh, here's your :worship:

Secondly, that may be a pretty smart idea in linking our ressies. My question to veteran cruisers would be, how many are usually at a table? Or do they usually try to just do single families? I know on other cruise lines they put a bunch of people at big tables. From how I am interpreting DCL chatter, it seems a lot of people sit with just their family. Yes or no?

Karen, let's think about doing that...might give us a better chance at early dining. Hmmmm...

Julia, on my first cruise, I was with two other women, and we had late dining. We had a table with a married couple, and another family of 3 (mom, dad, and 10 year old son). My second group was part of a big group with over 200 people, and they seated us at tables of 8-10 with other people in our group. Late dining was tough on the 10 year old. Poor kid fell asleep in his chicken fingers one night.

Some families request a table alone, but it seems like most sections can have tables pushed together to make them larger. Tables seem to seat either 4, 8, 10, or 12. I think it's more fun when you are at a large table with bunch of people from all over. It's fun learning about your tablemates, and hearing about their adventures on the cruise. I still keep in touch with the couple I met on my cruise four and a half years ago.

Hello,

We are definitely still onboard for our honeymoon Disney Cruise and looking forward to it !!!
Please count us in for the FE – We Can’t wait!!!!

Mickey (dw)
Joey (dh)

I am just catching up on all the posts but I will be sure to post our cabin this weekend. We may be changing it as we are seeing complaints about deck 5 (I think right now we are 5226) – may try to move to deck 7 or 8.

Have a nice day!! Mickey

Thank YOU I just added you!!!:cool1: Just curious what complaints about deck 5. We sail Sept and are on Deck 8 but have friends on deck 5. Congradulations on your Honeymoon cruise. Maybe you can be one of the couples on the Married couples game where they get 3 couples from different marriage lengths and ask them Personal questions.:rotfl2:

LOL sounds like a game just perfect for us!!! :rotfl:
I’m trying to get more details about the rooms – but some boards are saying the Verandah’s are very small, not the comfortable size they claimed to be. :confused3
There are so many places to read threw though, wishing someone would post some pictures – the cabin we have is actually 5526. I keep searching though … tough call .. change room ... keep room ... ugh ... :surfweb:

That's about four and a half months too long!

Can't we go NOW???? I live in resort area and it's full of people having wonderful vacations. I see them every morning while I'm on my way to my not-quite-so-wonderful office!

We finally have our assigned Cabins. We have 2 so I will have to Talk with the other couple to see which one the want. Only Laura and I are doing the FE. So once we have decided on which cabin we are in I will tell you all. Both cabins face the Bow under the bridge area.

I've been counting the days, and obsessively checking the boards at least once a day, usually more. (is that normal?) SO happy to see activity!

dvc deernut - Those look like amazing rooms! Lucky you! :thumbsup2

Mickeybella - congratulations on your upcoming marriage! What did you end up finding out about your room selection? I tried searching the boards and I believe I read that your room has the extended verandah but the room next to it doesn't.

Yes this is addictive, Im on here everyday. We have another cruise in Sept and that board is now at board 8. I was talking to a DCL booking agent yesterday asking a couple Questions about our Cabins. We actually talked for about half an hour. She had just sailed the Wonder out west and the Dream in Mar. Her husband works the concierge deck. She was very helpful. I was asking about things I heard about the pools. She said yes the pools are smaller but thats only because they arent Lap pools anymore. On Castaway day many stayed on the ship so the family beach was less crowded. Many lined up for the Aquaduct. Her son rode it 6 times. It was busy but line moves fast. We are gold Castaway members so we can book at 105 days out, I now wish we were platinum they book 120 days out. Palos brunch etc has been booking up fast. Im going to try for a table for 6 for brunch.

We're Platinum and can book at 120 days out. Of course, we won't be paid in full by then (Disney can wait for my money so that I get the interest on it and not them!). We'd like to have a Palo dinner and brunch, but we've done both a few times, and will be doing both the week before, so we may just skip it this time. We enjoyed the main dining rooms on Dream enough that we may not want to skip a dinner. We may try to book a brunch if we can get one, but even that's not really essential for us. That leaves some reservations open for the rest of you! If you haven't been to Dream's version of Palo, you should try it. It's an absolutely beautiful room, and there's no walkway outside the windows so no one's standing out there looking in at you while you're eating!:cool1: Of course, it IS under the basketball court, so you may have a constant "thump thump thump" overhead:confused3. What an awful design choice that was! It's even worse than making the pool areas smaller!

Paid the cruise off last week! We have 5 nights at Kidani before hand.

Congrats on paying your trip off. We paid ours off in January, what a great feeling! :)

Who is staying before and or after the cruise? We have 2 nights before the cruise at Bay Lake Tower. Then 8 nights after at Bay Lake Tower with a Magic kingdom view. I can't wait for the cruise and the holiday decorations at WDW!

TL- not to be picky, but I will be celebrating my birthday (not telling which one!) on board too! It's so cool to have so many Birthday celebrations!

Wow. The FE is getting big! Id better get moving on my gifts! Under 5 months, yay!:cool1:
