Dec 27/08 NYE Western Cruise - Really New Thread

Not sure who all here are DVC members and will be at WDW Friday before the cruise, but for those interested the Merry Member Mixer will be going on at the International Gateway from 3:00 - 5:00. We went last year and had a great time, free snacks and some character interaction.

Stupid question but where is the mixer - International Gateway? Umm...where is that (sorry I've only been to Disneyworld like 5/6 times) - seriously though is that in Epcot?

I'm not a DVC member yet, but that won't stop me from sneaking in. See ya there!;)

sounds like you will be sneaking me in with you, because you know I'm up for that adventure :thumbsup2 (I have to check our dinner plans, but I think I'm having a late dinner that night at Epcot) so this should be perfecto :woohoo:

I'll see you guys there, I'll be the one pointing at you and screaming "party crashers, their just here for the free stale cookies".

I know you have to show your DVC member card before entering, but if anyone wants to come in with us that would be ok. Aisling could be my Mom and Nan could be my younger sister. :lmao:

It is the world showcase entrance to Epcot. The mixer is in a tent between Epcot and the Beach Club resort. It will be easy to find, just listen for the ruckus caused by two women trying to get in without a card.

I think I'm old enough to pass as your mom.

Judy, wooooow about the snow! Sounds exciting! I'll definitely take pictures of Jesse in the show.:thumbsup2

He's been sleeping in bed with me and Mel, and I can't believe how much Mel adores this dog. Mel doesn't adore anything, well his tennis, but Brian really stole his heart, and that makes me very happy.

Mel has a heart, he just needed a puppy for it to show. If a dog is good for anything, it's the ability to show unconditional Love  Kayda is a step closer to coming home. She needs a thyroid test - the foster group won't pay for cancer treatments and insist on knowing up front if she's got it. and then we meet the niece of the owner to pick up Kayda and all her stuff (bed, bowls, toys, etc.)

What times are Jesse's shows this weekend, Britt is impressed (I told her of his role just now) and I'd like to see it if at all possible. Chad's birfday sounded like fun. I saw the head's up on Facebook and forgot to go back and wish him a happy one. Happy Birthday Chad!!! My knees hurt starting yesterday, I can't tell if its from the hives on them (sometimes the swelling feels like a bruise) or from working the wedding 11am to 11pm on saturday :faint: I've been narrowing down what I want in her album. I've finished two hundred pics and have only gotten thru the bride's hair appt, bride's makeup apptand groom and groomsmen's prep.

Chel and I are members, we will be there. How will we know you?:confused3

Well, we woke up to 4 inches of snow and 4 more inches are expected throughout the day. It's cold, and the roads are covered, so I think I'll stay in today. I just finished 2 loads of laundry. I think I'll vacuum now. Sounds like an exciting day for me!!!

Aisling, can you post pictures of Jesse's play if you take any? Is it a school play? Our school play just finished yesterday. Brian was on the stage crew. They got a new director this year, and it wasn't that great of a play. Most of the usual kids didn't even try out for parts. Glad to hear you are still working out. I had a week that I was too busy to fit it in, then got out of my routine. I won't reach my goal before the cruise either. Give Brian a hug and kiss from me. I hope he gets better soon. I know what you mean, I hate leaving our dog for vacations. I feel so sad.

Judy
Yea, we had the same problems here today, when I left for work it was 68 and the sun was shining. Oh yea, that's why I live on the West Coast.:thumbsup2

I'm 6'-6" and Claudia is 5'-4", we're kind of hard to miss.:) Try not to confuse us with Goofy and Tinkerbell.

Aisling posted pics of us on her cruise web site.

Ya and then look for the guy with the most red face.
Here's a photo of Chel and I.

Brenda: Congrats on the college acceptance for Ryan :thumbsup2 Is SF one of his top choices? If not where is he waiting to hear from?

I'm trying to get my head ready to work on an album for Willie at our scrap weekend, just not sure what and how I'm going to do it yet. Might want to do CM online, but not sure. Maybe we should chat on the phone to help me decide...I'll give you a call or you can call me. I have LOTS of paper and stuff to use, plenty of albums that haven't been opened yet, but haven't printed pictures....:confused3 just not sure what way to go...

Nan: I made a reservation for the 6 of us at Mangiano's on 11/29/08 at 7:00 pm. Let me know if you and Paul can make it. I put Wilson's race on DVD and I will get it in the mail this week. Did you see they have an Indy Car experience at the race track at WDW? Drive or ride in an open cockpit Indy car, I think I might want to do that.:yay:

Absolutely!!!

You can be a driver or passenger. For the experience, I think hubby would feel jipped if I sent him to the Richard Petty experience and only bought him a ride along. The only advice I'd give you is go as fast as you want! seriously. The pace car is always in front of you but will speed up to stay ahead whenever you speed up.

Congratulations to Ryan's first college acceptance. What was his preference again?

Rus, did you make it for Sat 11/29 or Fri 11/28? We are out of town on Sat, but as long as we haven't invited ourselves (like you'd tell me that now... we'd be happy to join you on Friday, but hord'ouvres/drink(s) here first ok? cool on the DVD

Just tonight we were out and Paul's dad bought Wilson his new engine, a Rotax. We are placing the order for his chassis tomorrow. He is going racing......we are very grateful that Grandpa offered to help us with the cost, otherwise we would be waiting for a while to get him his new gear.

We have looked at the Indy experience, but for the money $500 Paul would rather put it into Wilson's karting. I think if and until money is no object Paul would always spend it on karting. He is happy to see his boy winning :woohoo:

Hello Matey's!!!

We leave in 5.5 weeks for the first part of our vacation (Disneyworld December 22nd-27th) and then for the nice relaxing part of Disneycruise right after. And I have started to panic. I have NOTHING done and need to get on the ball as I know with the holidays, etc. 5.5 weeks will go by like nothing.

With the above being said I wanted to check with AISLING (can you hear me) if you still wanted to go in on the Photopass for the pre-cruise trip? Anyone else interested? I am going to order the CD in the next few days so I can feel like I got something accomplished and check it off my list of things to do.

Also - in a week or so I am going to confirm the party size for the private excursion on our Grand Cayman stop (sting ray city, rum point beach, etc.) so it will be your last chance to let me know if your party is interested (we have quite a bit of room).

Ok - off to eat lunch before a fun 2 hour meeting. TTYL~~~
