Dec 27/08 NYE Western Cruise - Really New Thread

Ummm....hello ~ Can anybody hear me? LOL - Sorry but Page 2 is not acceptable so a nice little bump.

For those with linked dining make sure I have you listed on the following website correctly:

http://www.themcmurphys.com/2008_NewYearsEve_Dinner.html

When do you think we can call and get confirmation on what night will be formal and what night will be pirate night?

I'm thinking maybe they all went on the cruise without us.

Our info looks great Angelica. :thumbsup2

I would try around when we get docs, the beginning of December . . .

Are we going to get a list of who passes out FE gifts on certain nights? Just curious.

Are we assigning days? It's fine with me however you choose to do it . . .

I thought that is what was mentioned earlier in our threads, trying to break it into 2 or 3 people/day to spread out the good cheer!!

Yes, we did this last year on a Med cruise and it really did spread the FE gifts out throughout the cruise, which is nice. Mine really is for enjoying when you get back home, so it doesn't matter which day I deliver it:thumbsup2

Yes ~ DisneyKelly was going to work on coming up with the list/days. Once she has that I can post to the website for the "official" assignments.

Anjelica, yes I am in on the Photopass. Just tell me what to do.:thumbsup2

I'd also like more info on how we're doing the FE.

Brenda, many cogratulations on Ryan's acceptance to the San Fran college. Let us know how the rest of his choices work out.

Don't tell my family, but I'm more excited about this cruise than Christmas! :-)

Oh yeah, that and moving down to Orlando for a six-month internship in marketing for Disney! :wizard:

With the above being said I wanted to check with AISLING (can you hear me) if you still wanted to go in on the Photopass for the pre-cruise trip? Anyone else interested?

How many pics can you put on the CD? We would be interested in sharing as well. Can we split it 3 ways?

You can put as many pictures on the CD as you want - if it goes into a second disc, they will give you the second disc also.

Be sure to do the preorder at http://www.disneyphotopass.com/previsitcdplan.aspx - saves you a ton of money. Too bad they don't have that for the pictures on the ship!

I thought I just read on the main boards that the ships are getting a photopass system . . . not sure if it is in place for our cruise yet, though.

I found the thread on the main board -- it looks like a version of photopass might be available by the time we sail :thumbsup2

I just wish there were more details there! A CD or DVD of the pictures would be awesome, since I'm going to be putting a photo book of the trip together (complete with scans of the Navigators and anything else I can get my hands on)

I know -- they weren't very clear on how it would work, if you could get a CD, etc. . . maybe in the next few weeks someone will get back after they have it working and we will find out more!

Absolutely ~ Jeff is correct. They will give us as many cd's as needed. I plan on preordering it this next week (I believe 99.00) and then when we go down to disney just get your pictures taken by a photopass photographer (save the cards). Once we get back from the trip I collect all the card #'s and enter it for the preordered CD. Then we can do edits, etc. prior to having the CD cut. They will send me the CD(s) and I will burn the appropriate amount (in this case 2 other sets) and mail them to you and Aisling.

Just remember to NOT enter in your photopass CARD because once you enter them, and I don't have them on the CD order I can't transfer them, etc. So is that what we want to do - 3 ways of 99.00?

By the way, this was in the allears.net newsletter -- I'm sure that most of the holiday things will still be going on for our cruise, and then there is the specific New Year's info as well -- got me really excited about the cruise!

Disney Cruise Line will kick off the holidays with special Thanksgiving voyages: setting sail November 22 with a 7-night Western Caribbean cruise on the Disney Magic, and on November 26 with a 4-night Bahamian cruise onboard the Disney Wonder. Cruisers will enjoy a sumptuous Thanksgiving Day feast with Mickey, Minnie and friends dressed in traditional Thanksgiving attire. Activities throughout the day include holiday crafts for youngsters and the big NFL football games broadcast live on Ariel View Television, the 24-by-14-foot screen located above the Goofy Family Pool on deck 9.

The Cruise Line will continue to host numerous onboard holiday events from Thanksgiving and continuing through to the new year on both the Disney Wonder and the Disney Magic, beginning November 22:

-- nightly "King Triton's Tree Lighting" in the atrium lobby, where a young guest will help Disney characters light the glittering, three-deck-tall tree.
-- an afternoon Tropical Pool Party every day with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Plenty of Disney characters join the celebration, including Lilo and Stitch, Chip and Dale, Mickey and Minnie, Goofy and Pluto. Be sure not to miss the "Winter-Sunnyland" conga line around the pool.
-- special family time with holiday crafts, such as decorating stockings, making holiday cards and creating holiday animation cells.
-- holiday storytellers sharing tales of diverse holiday traditions, from Hanukkah and Kwaanza to the Bahamian Junkanoo, plus, an all-new story just for Disney Cruise Line guests about the magical feeling of the holidays on a ship.
-- traditional holiday feasts in Disney's three themed dining rooms.
-- " 'Til We Meet Again," a special holiday edition of Disney Cruise Line's farewell on the final night of each cruise, with Disney characters and the ship's crew in a musical finale led by Mickey Mouse.

For cruises that put in at Castaway Cay during the holiday period:

-- "snow flurries," decked-out Christmas trees, Disney character meet-and-greets and holiday carolers.
-- holiday-themed activities, such as making candy cane reindeer, paper plate angels and snowflake mobiles.

The Disney Magic will host a 7-Night Holiday Caribbean Cruise departing December 20, with visits to Cozumel, Grand Cayman and, as a special holiday treat, two stops at Castaway Cay. The Disney Wonder 4-night Christmas cruise departs December 24, with visits to Nassau and Castaway Cay. On Christmas morning at the lobby tree, Santa Claus and his elves will have surprises for all the kids, along with cookies and milk. Guests can attend sunset Hanukkah services and Christmas services, including midnight mass on Christmas Eve.

To celebrate the new year, Disney Magic departs on its 7-night Western Caribbean itinerary December 27; Disney Wonder departs December 31 for its 4-night cruise. These voyages will feature a special New Year's Eve party to ring in 2009, complete with DJ music, sparkling wine in commemorative flutes, confetti and balloon drop, and a midnight countdown.

I started wondering if it will be like the "old" photopass they used at the themeparks (and still do) except you can't order a CD/DVD ~ basically you take the "card" to shutters and can view all the pictures on that card and edit/print right there. This is all guessing on my part though.

We are good with that. Do you want us to pay you when we see you at Christmas time, or would you like us to mail it to you now? Let us know our share with shipping, taxes, blank CD costs etc. Thanks Anjelica.

There was some speculation that you might be able to view photos on the TV in your room -- that would be fun.
