Dec. 2, 2007-4 night Wonder and MouseFest Cruise

Thanks Michael!

I think that it will be a blast. Did many of you on the thread go last year, as well?

While we've cruised twice on DCL (gee, it seems like so much more than that!) last years cruise in October was the DVC member cruise and Nassau wasn't on the itinerary. In January of '06 we were in Nassau but Marc was nursing a bad back (I'll totally take the blame on the bad back; made him carry some very nice bottles of wine in his carry on) and we didn't get off the ship at all in Nassau. This year I think we're just going to do a bit of a walk-around and then just see what happens.

Ah.........I feel the relaxation coming on as I type.........

Michael

ETA: Oops! I thought SSB was talking about Nassau not the Mousefest cruise! Sorry!!

My husband and I have been to 3 Mousefests so far, this year will be number 4. The first 2 we only participated in the land portion. Last year we added the cruise portion and we loved it. We'll be going this year but then skipping next year mostly because the dates are moved back later in December and that does not work for me in 2008. I have to be in the office by about Dec 10 or 11 at the latest.

Welcome SSB, glad you can join us.

Michael and Marc we have been thinking of you this week. Glad to hear you are doing all right aside from the smoke. Hope it doesn't get any worse in your area. I received an email Tuesday at work, they called up another 750 fire companies. Kind of puts it in perspective.

Welcome SSB. I'm glad you could join our little group. We have only been on two members cruises that did not stop at Nassau. We still don't know what we are going to do there.

I just wanted to say that I loved you pictures with the Survivors. That is our favorite show here. It is our big family tv night. :rotfl2:

Hope everyone is having a great day. Cold and raining here. I really need to move somewhere warm.

Thanks for all of the welcomes!

Same with us for "Survivor Family Night'. A fun thing this year that we did... after the first episode, we had a "draft" where each of us in order (youngest to oldest) picked one player at a time until we all had three each. I sponsor the grand prize for whoever ends up with one of the last three. Has made watching/routing even more fun.

Hi Everyone,

It seems like ages since I posted last but we have had a whirlwind of events happening here in our corner of the world. My daughter found her true love while up in Alaska and he has just spent the last month here in Ohio with us. They are now engaged and she and my grandaughter will be moving to Alaska right after Christmas. So I guess this cruise will be their going away party, although I'm not very good at "letting go". Now I will have 1 daughter and her family in Brazil and the other one in Alaska. Go figure. I love visiting Brazil, but Alaska? I can barely handle Ohio winters. Now that her beau is back up North, I can again focus on our upcoming cruise. It's hard to believe how close it is now.
Sorry Joy, I don't think I could muster watching a Steeler's game while cruising. Like Kimmie,I'm a die hard Browns fan. Although I did catch the end of the Steeler's game a few weeks ago when they lost on a last second field goal. That was fun.:yay:
The last 2 cruises we were on, I would go to deck 10 as the ship was departing the port, so I'm really glad you guys are planning to meet up there. It's such a great view. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone. Although I imagine there won't be alot of sunlight left, with the time change. This is our first December cruise.
As far as packing, I've developed different travel lists on my computer (cruise, business, Sanibel, etc). I'm constantly refining and updating my lists, so when I go somewhere, it really takes the stress off - I rarely forget things that way.
As others have shared, my prayers are with you guys in CA.
Sorry this is so long but I have felt like I've been out of the loop.

Rachel

Rachel.........I understand! :) Although.......I think you're just all jealous! LOL Course last week's loss doesn't support that theory. Hmmmm  ...oh well!

Just having a little fun with you Browns fans!! :)

Look forward to meeting you Rachel and everyone else!

Perfect timing! I was getting Christmas presents organized last night (I have closet full of them for the nieces/nephews that I buy all year long) and I came across the items I bought to bring along on the ship for the Secret Santa. I was just coming to the thread to ask if there was a count update yet so I know how many to bring!

It's starting to seem more real now that the trip is only about a month away.

Woohoo, just 4 weeks today and we will be flying out!!! In fact at this time in 4 weeks we will already be over the Atlantic!!

I know the feeling Marilyn, if our flight’s on schedule 4 weeks from now we will be having lunch in the parks. I can't wait, heavy frost here last night, still hasn't reached 50 degrees at noon.

Michael, not missing anything here with the weather, but the Wolverines did manage to pull it off yesterday.

All being well we land just after 2.30pm. Last year on the same flight we were checking in at POFQ around 5pm. Hoping to get to DTD again this year, though 5pm ET will be 10pm our time!!!!!!

Our first ever trip to the US was in 1994 and we flew to Tampa changing at Atlanta. The flight was late out of Atlanta - think about 2/3 hours, so it was after 11pm by the time we landed in Tampa. Getting to the car hire place was long winded and actually getting the car was worse. We then had to drive to St. Petes Beach. I think it was a bit after 1am - so like 6am our body clock time. We had been awake 27 hours!!! Eventually we got to bed, but with jetlag we woke about 6am Eastern! Never again.

So we got up, had breakfast and began walking to St. Petes Beach. We were so excited - our first trip to the US. We were in a condo some 20 min walk from the beach. As we walked over the bridge there, a friendly guy fishing said 'welcome to Florida'. We were stunned. How did he know? Took us a while to realise we were all as white as snow!!!!
