Dec '10 TR:I Will Not Stop Stalking ADRs Until I Get To WDW!(MARCH TR LINK) 3/26

Sounds like a great day so far! I bet it was nice to get a good nights sleep after the night before! How awesome that you guys could pretty much ride TT as much as you wanted with no lines!

I love you towel animal! Would you believe that we didn't get a single one all week at POP?! Every other room in our row had new ones in the window each day, but not us :confused3

LOL I can't believe you changed your resort already, and I thought I was bad for wanting to mess with mine so soon! POFQ looks so cute, I really want to stay there someday, I love the new rooms, they look really pretty!

Fun morning at Epcot, it's nice sometimes to sleep a little later and not feel so rushed! That must be awesome, riding TT as many times as you want with no wait! :thumbsup2

I love taking breaks in the middle of the day, I'd never be able to be in the parks all day!

It was a good nights sleep!! We only got 2 animals at WL this time but our first day we didn't have Mousekeeping of course, we got animals on day 2 and 3 of housekeeping but not on day 4. I think it's hit and miss there but at POP, we've always a towel something at least one of the days and they decorated the window too but I've only stayed in buildings 10 and 6 there..and building 8 that one night :rolleyes1

Haha, I know! I had some sort of feeling that I should check before going to bed on Tues and at 11pm, it finally popped up! POFQ will be great!! I can't believe I'm as excited about this as a Deluxe but given the size and all the discounts out right now, I'm thanking my lucky stars that we got in!

Oh my Whoopi I have always wanted to hear her do CP.Takeing a break in the afternoon for a swim, wish we had learned that one long before our May trip. It was a first and a wonderful refresher for the afternoon. Sorry to hear about all the trouble with reservations for your B-day trip am happy tho it's all good now. Love POFQ. Can't wait for more. Enjoy your snow day and feel better.

She was awesome!!! We had Chita Rivera the year before and I had no clue who she was since she was a fill-in for Vanessa Williams but we LOVED Rivera!! She had such a great voice, interacted with the choirs, and sang too!

Whoopi was good as well but on a different level. She would say jokes and little gag lines which made it funny but I'm sure for some, they would not appreciate that given what CLP is! We loved her and would for sure see her again!

That update will be the next on the list!

I forgot to mention too, that as we were walking around WS, we saw 4 families in the stand-by line for CLP at 12noon! :scared1: I guess Whoopi tends to bring in a huge crowd, now I know why!

Yay for a snow day. Hope you feel better soon :goodvibes

Sounds like a great day at epcot. That is awesome his former roomie could get them in for free

:goodvibes

Thanks!!! The snow day did make me feel better except I took my anti-bio with my allergy meds and BC this morning and now I've had red ichy bumps all over since then  I forgot that I have to take the anti-bio separate from all of the other meds :sad2:

MARCH 2011 ADRS

HAPPY FRIDAY DIS FRIENDS!!

..all in all, we got 5 inches of snow yesterday which is huge for Cincinnati. I will add that we also had green grass for a few days prior to the dump of snow! With no warm temps in the future, it looks like this snow will be around for a while :(

In other news..

I got a call today from a rep with Disney Guest Relations regarding the letters I mailed to WL and POP about our stays in Dec. She was glad to hear about WL but wanted to follow up with the POP letter. She left her contact info, I called at 6pm, left a message so I guess she will call back tomorrow. I'm still not looking for any type of compensation but just hope that the word will get spread so that other families (ones that haven't been CMs especially) don't have to go through what we went through!! If she offers free things, I of course won't turn it down :rolleyes1

Now for the ADRS!!!

My ADRs search always consists of the following, given we have enough eating days..this time we do!:
My goals:
-Seafood
-Steak
-Breakfast place (because we have 4 meals and only 3 days to use them without having to feel rushed on our travel days)
-Pasta and/or something Unique

DRUM ROLL PLEASE...

3/18 (day before my birthday)
4:20pm
CORAL REEF!!!

162.jpg

-seafood place check! The 2nd runner up was Yak and Yeti but you'll soon find out what beat that in a heart beat!

3/19 (MY BIRTHDAY!!!)
- No parks that day. We are going to have a foodie day and resort/DTD time
10:35am
CHEF MICKEYS!!!!

110.jpg

-breakfast place check! I had a 9:25 ADR booked and came across the 10:35. I was hesitant to book it as 9:25 would get us done earlier = more resort/DTD time but 10:35 will give us a chance to sleep in :rolleyes1 haha.

3/19
8:35pm
OHANA!!

1248265969.jpg

..I know what you are thinking :rolleyes1 CRT was my first choice but we weren't going to a park that day, the times for the other 2 days were not so great 8:30pm or later, and it would take up 2 meals that I'm not sure I want to give up!
..My 2nd choice was the Luau but with all my resort changes/DDP changes that would have made things icky in terms of that/linking reservations etc. Plus, we would have to pre-pay for my bro who might not be able to make it = icky trying to get a refund (I'm sure)

So Ohana is the next closet thing that's not 2 TS meals, not prepaid, not a park TS, has good views, good food, BUT HORRIBLE SERVICE. Our meal in Oct wasn't too bad so I guess maybe I'm harsh but the other 5 times it was!
..I debated about Captains Grill but let's face it, Ohana has a little more flair than CG does even though the food is good!

..so Ohana is my pasta and/or unique food choice, check!

3/20 (last park day/full day)
1:10pm

HUGE DRUM ROLL PLEASE..........

LE CELLIER!!!!!!!

le-cellier-1-07.jpg

..yes, that's right my friends! I got the most coveted ADR less than 2 months from our arrival date. For those who say it can't be done, it can. The other day, I was snooping around looking at different options for CR since that was the day we were supposed to do that (Yak and Yeti on the 18th) and low and behold Le Cellier pops up!
I was nervous to book it as we will be at DHS for opening/rides in the morning and would that give us enough time there + travel and then I decided, we will make time if it comes down to it!

We haven't eaten there in a few years. Our last meal (a lunch) was a disaster. Our seat was right by the kitchen doors, our service was not good/slow, we were rushed bc of DME (hence no TS on our travel days!), and the sandwich I ordered was horrible (we were new at the DDP :rolleyes1)

I'm happy to report that DHS will open at 9am that day, we will be out of DHS no later than 12:15 and will get to WS in plenty of time. What we don't get done/want to do at DHS, we'll do after lunch. We spent pretty much a whole day there in Dec so there isn't a whole lot that I would be upset about if we missed it!

Our CS meals will be used on:
3/17-arrival day-Dinner at POFQ
3/18-Lunch at AK or Epcot
3/19-No CS, we'll have a late breakfast and dinner so we'll use snacks in the day
3/20-Dinner at MK
3/21-Lunch at POFQ before leaving for MCO

The 2 park CSs will be determined down the road!

THERE YOU HAVE IT!!! HOW DO YOU THINK I DID LESS THAN 2 MONTHS BEFORE ARRIVAL DAY DURING A SPRING BREAK TIME??!!

Stay Tuned For:

-DEC TR UPDATE: CLP AND ILLUMINATIONS
-MARCH PTR SCHEDULE

Glad you had a snow day when you were sick.

Congrats on the POFQ resort choice. All that back & forth with the CM's over your reservations were making my head spin! I can't imagine what it was doing to yours!
I want to stay at POFQ the next time we go to Disney.

I love your Santa picture, so cool! :santa:

And, your bunny towel was just precious! It would have been too funny if the CM put the towel with your DB sleeping.

Just have to say you are an awsome planner! For my next trip (which probably wont be until 2012 :sad2:) I want you to help plan out my days!

I am curious to hear what they have to say about your letter concerning POP. I was at POR in October and we did check the beds before getting comfortable and luckly we found no bugs. :thumbsup2

Thanks!!! You would love POFQ too! I stayed there when I was 7, 9, and 11 and even at 11, I still thought the slide was all that but then I had nothing else to compare it to :rotfl:.

All the issues was making my head spin which led to the decision to cancel. Just now I looked and they still had Standard rooms at POFQ open with the AP discount so they must have released some rooms for the AP discount :)

Thanks! My friends say I should be a Disney Travel Agent (not a teacher!) but the fact that you're able to do everything online these days, I'm not sure how hot the market is for travel agents?! I plan vacations for my friends all the time though so it's nothing new! I helps that I went to WDW a lot as a kid (92, 94, 96, 98, 2000, 03, 05, 06, and 07) and then I became a CM after that so I know the best of the best :) The schedules are the most fun for me! I don't go crazy and make ride schedules but we have our "usual" that we do first of course, after that it's whatever!

Let me know if you ever need help! What I do is book the resort/flights first. I then look at the park hours and decide what days I want to go on (based on EMH and what-not) and then after that I decide the dining and see what's available and change anything if need-be. We always hop so it makes schedule making easier!

I'll let you know what happens with the letter. I sent them both to the GM's of the resorts so I'm not sure if they went to them first and then were sent to GR or if anything marked GM goes to GR first and then dispersed to the GMs of the resorts. I normally would NEVER write a letter to Disney especially after having been a CM and knowing that as a CM you have your off days but the fact that an apology was never issued, I felt the need to let them know that!

That is great you got a follow up call to your letter. Be curious to see what she says when you talk to her.

Way to go on your adrs. I think you did great for a short time frame in planning :thumbsup2

Thanks! I'll let you know. She hasn't called back today but yesterday she called at 3:15pm so maybe she doesn't work till late, I don't know haha!

Great ADR's! :thumbsup2 I can't believe you got Le Cellier so close to your trip! :cool1:

Thanks! Obviously someone canceled it and I was in the right place at the right time because before I got it there was nothing (except an 11:40 which would cut our DHS time but a lot) and there hasn't been anything since!

What I'm confused about is when it's switching to a 2 TS meal. On ALLEARS it said starting 3/1/11 it switches but it doesn't say anything on disney.com or on here about it switching so I'm glad it's a lunch ADR so it's not an issue as far as the 2 TS goes!

I keep reading on here that it's changing in March to 2 TS credits, but nothing official, so who knows when it will happen? :confused3 I think it's kind of crazy that dinner will be 2 credits but they are keeping lunch 1 credit, Le Cellier is great, but I don't think it's a 2 credit meal! Looks like I'll be only going to lunch there from now on!

That reminds me, I have 2 ADR's there for May that I should cancel, since we aren't taking our anniversary trip anymore! :rotfl:

From WDW.com

Effective March 1, 2011, dinner at Le Cellier Steakhouse will be elevated to a Signature dining experience, offering an exciting new menu that will change seasonally and an expanded wine list.

This is was it says on the right side which makes you think that Lunch is Sig too?! Even though it isn't!

Lunch
Experience: Signature Dining
Service: A la Carte
Price Level: $$ ($15 to $35.99)

Dinner
Experience: Signature Dining
Service: A la Carte
Price Level: $$$ ($36 to $59.99)
Menus

But I agree with you, I would not use 2 TS at LC if I can use 2 at YS, AP, Narcoosee, etc.

Hi Megan ~

If you look at the DDP brochure online it does state that LeCellier will be 2 TS credits for dinner beginning March 1st. So it looks like they have officially changed it. I would guess that will make it easier now to get dinner ADRs there since many people on the DDP prefer to use just 1 credit for their meals.
ETA : It does specifically state that Lunch is 1 credit & dinner is 2.

Hope GR does get back with you today. I'm really glad to hear that someone did indeed pay attention to your note and called you about your unacceptable resort experience ~~ curious to see what she says.

Ya, thanks I saw that on WDW.com now! When I was looking at the reservations I guess it never came up as listed as 2 TS when you were booking dinner but that could be because there were never any times open :rotfl:

We'll stick with lunch I guess unless the menu changes and we don't like it's offerings. I just booked a 1:30 ADR at Teppan Edo for the same day just in case but I'm assuming on Mar 1, they will release the new menu so I'll know a good 18 days before we leave and can cancel one or the other!

Thanks! I hate to be one of "those people" with muliple ADRs but assuming they release the menu on 3/1, I'll cancel with 2 weeks to go and that's plenty of time for people with ADR OCD like me to keep looking for ADRS + there were 2 other times listed so it's not like they are close to being booked for lunch!

Wow, those are some impressive ADR's for a two month window. Nice! I'm also curious to see what the Guest Relations CM says when she calls back. I think it's great that you got a call though. So many companies get letters like that and just throw it to the side. Glad to see that Disney is still operating on a different wavelength in that area too.
