Debt Dumpers - 2013

I don't have children, but it shocks me at how much activities cost for them in school!! Wow!!

It's crazy! My older one started high school today & just the amount I had to pay at Open House was nuts! Registration, sports, yearbook, lunch (& my boy can EAT) .... I think I wrote $200 in checks just that night. And he still will need a graphing calculator -- $$$$$$$$

Just wanted to give you guys an update. We lost our cat, Annie, on Saturday. It's just devastating. On a positive note, the others that had medical issues all seem to be doing fine now. If there is a silver lining it's that we won't be spending tons of money on vet bills anymore.

As far as debt-dumping, yesterday I packed up a third CD trade-in order for SecondSpin.com. I should net about $60 cash back from that. And we paid off DH's lowest two credit cards today! It's a drop in the bucket, but psychologically it feels great to see two less red numbers in YNAB!

congrats on this good news! It always feels good to see a red number disappear, and it's also always great to free up payments to go somewhere else. Good job!

So sorry to hear about your loss, peel.

Congrats on getting your cc paid off :thumbsup2 That is fantastic!!

Peel, I'm so sorry for the loss of your cat :( I hope you're doing ok with it.

I'm out of town on a work trip, working a 14hr day today on 4hrs of sleep ughhhhh. I'm focusing on the money I can put towards my debt thanks to it, to keep me going. Only 1pm and I'm worn out already!

Coming out of lurkdom to give you this: :grouphug: I'm so sorry about Annie. At least you can be sure that you did everything you could to give her the best health possible and keep her comfortable.

I have a TI-83 PLUS graphing calculator. It does not have the wires and stuff, but if you want, I can send it to you as a RAOK. Send me a PM and let me know and I will get it in the mail! (I picked up 2 of them at a yard sale this summer and I know my son won't need both!)

Love the ticker :thumbsup2 I can't wait to book my trip for next year! I keep looking at ways I could swing it this year - but I think I will just do an overnight trip to Hershey PA and see the lights and then next year hit Disney. I'm such a Christmas fanatic that it's sickening! :rotfl2:

On the bright side, check out my ticker!

Looks like my baby sister (she's in her early 30s... baby, my foot! :rotfl2:) and her boyfriend will be there at the same time as you -- their first visit! I'm so excited for them, and for you too! :thumbsup2

I have gone every year with my mother since my father died. We have a great time, although I feel a little bad leaving DH at home! This year, my mom covered the bill as a graduation present, so despite our financial situation I can go without guilt.
