DeAnna's Wish Trip

DeAnna looks really cute in her Lilo dress! Praying that things will go well during the surgery and recovery for DeAnna! So glad that she will be getting her wish trip and going during Christmas time is so much fun!

DeAnna's surgery was cancelled yesterday as there was no room in pediatric ICU for her after surgery. What a roller coaster! Rescheduled to 10-31. But on an exciting note, a fellow disboarder (cajunfan) who lives in Nashville contacted me to give DeAnna a HUGE Stitch. She has slept with it puts it in the chair next to her during meals.

question: Do you know of an area church that might be having a Trunk or Treat in Nashville Sunday Evening? DeAnna will miss our churches on Monday night and thought we might find something in Nashville on Sunday.

PS she is dressing at Lilo and carrying her new big stitch. She carries it around and it has a very important space in her bedroom that no one can touch. All week she has said, just call me "Lilo".

I will see what I can find out...I think there is one over near me on Sunday...I will run by there on Saturday am and see...it is in the Opryland area. I do know that they will have a halloween parade and trick or treating at the hospital on the day of her surgery...I realize that she will not be able to participate, but maybe she can get a :goodie bag: for when she is out of intensive care. I will pm you any info I find about Sunday.

DeAnna's surgery was Monday to remove the tumors in her nose and sinuses. The tumors damaged her nose to the point that they just removed the tumor and bone fragments and used a rib to recreate a new nose. She is doing great! She was moved from ICU to the floor last night. She is sitting up and talking. Able to eat a little bit. We were told today that she will be here until Monday as she is getting IV antibiotics and they want to be sure she has not complications from surgery. The location where they removed her rib is healing nicely. The packing and bracing in her nose is driving her nuts but mostly doing okay. Once she started talking she was telling everyone about her wish to DW with no Peter Pan (favorite ride) line wait. LOL!

I was happy to read that Deanna's surgery went well and that you are now at home! So glad that she has her wish trip to look forward to after all she's been through!

yes we are recovering. We had our stitches and bracing removed and replaced on Monday. She really looks alot different. Her nose looks like Cindy Lou Who from the Grinch. Because of this we have watched the grinch and plan to visit Islands of Adventure's Dr. Suess land. She is an amazing little girl! Instead of being upset that she now looks very different, she is making it her new adventure! Even dressing like Cindy Lou Who. LOL!!

Some reconstrution surgery will be done sometime in the late spring/early summer to make the nose look more natural. It is fun to watch her learn to breathe through her nose and learn to smell again. She was not use to air in her nose so she walked backwards for 2 days! LOL!

When will the Disney store be open? We have to go back to Nashville on December 13th.

I am assuming that the store will open when the rest of the mall opens in March 2012. I am trying to get information about working there again...I worked there for a few years before they closed that one down before the flood. I miss it terribly!

So I was thinking...you are going to be there for Christmas Day...what are Santa's plan for this (you can pm me...wondering if stocking stuffers are needed)...also wrapping paper...you know those things you have at home but may need at GKTW). have you decided on a place for after GKTW? Have you looked into the family suites at All Stars on property? With a family of 6 it or off property may be the best bet.
