We need to start looking at high school class rings for our DD. Would like to hear all comments (good and bad) about any ring manufacturers that any of you have used. Have requested brochures from Josten's & Herff Jones. I have a brochure from Gold Lance and will be getting one from Art Carved today.

Comments - Suggestions!!!!!!

Thanks

If I remember correctly mine is from Art Carved. It had Black Onyx as a stone with my school initials in the middle. It had my journalism patch on one side and my Student Council-Beta Club on the other.

Hummm I wonder where it is....LOL! I haven't thought about it in years! I can remember how excited I was the day it came in. But wearing John's was more fun!!

I can't remember who ds bought his ring from, how strange.

Both my rings were from Josten's. They were very nice. I ended up selling my high school ring (gee...guess I wasn't too sentimental about that), and I still have my ring from Katharine Gibbs.

mine is Josten's....I still have it....can't fit it on these "fat induced by 3 babies fingers"

but I DO still have it, and it's in great shape...almost 20 years later.

I would recommend Herff Jones.

I got my ring in 1992 and I really liked all of the options but the best thing about HJ was the customer service. Less than a year after I got my ring I had an accident with my hand and my ring had to be cut off. My Mom contacted them and mailed it off and they repaired it for nothing! :) They didn't even ask what happened to it and they were more than willing to fix it up for me.

My HS class ring was made by Jostens and my College class ring was made by Art Carved. I really like both a lot and both are in great shape considering all they "went through". My HS one was worn by myself for about 3 years every day until I gave it to my DH when we were dating. He put it on his keychain and it was on there for another few years before we decided to take it off (my signature on the inside was getting worn away by the key ring it was on). So considering the abuse it went through, I think it held up wonderfully. My college class ring was one I wore for about 1 1/2 years before putting it in my ring box. Nothing happened to it and it looks wonderful, but I just wanted to keep it safe just in case. No complaints about either. Good luck :)

My DD, class of 2004, had a nice ring. But it is lost already. Seems this happens to a lot of them, no matter who makes them.

My high school ring was from Josten's. My oldest daughter (now a college freshman) didn't want a ring when she was in high school.

My oldest 2 DSs got their rings from Herff Jones. (Class of 02 & 04) We have received prompt service. Oldest DS's ring came in too small. They had it resized and returned quickly. Other than that we have had no problems.

My HS and college rings were both Josten's-and still look great ('79 and '83) My DS ('03) got his from Balfour-it looks great and he wears it all the time (bought something else for the GF) but we had to return it three times before he got what he ordered.

I got mine from Josten's *ahem* 20+ years ago. I wish I could remember what it cost then. Seems like it was around $100, because I think my college ring was around $200. Just curious, what price ranges do the rings go for now?

My son didn't want one so that saved me money. Mine just sits in my jewelery box 28 yrs later. I think mine was by art carved, it is so big meaning just to big for a nice look. if I dropped it on my toe it would break it, not the ring, my tow. LOL

My ring, Josten's, and 40 years old  is in my jewelry box in my dresser. Still looks new, have not worn it in probably 35 years. :)

Becka!

I can't believe this story!! THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED TO MY DAUGHTER!!!!! Only her ring is still sitting in a zip-loc bag because she hasn't done anything to get it fixed. It makes me sick, because she's a senior now and SHOULD be wearing that ring!

Thanks for the info. I'm pretty sure hers was from Herff Jones, too and I will contact them this week!

My kids all have rings from Jostens, they aren't class rings, but they are just like them (they are the rings they get for winning state wrestling championships) they came with a warranty that you can just send the ring in and they will replace it if anything goes wrong. They are really nice rings... they were like $250 each, I don't know if thats because they are huge, or if that is the average price tho.

The only one I can tell you about is herff jones. I got mine from there in 1990 and it is still looking great!

Mine is from 89. from Artcraved I wore it fulltime until I graduated from HS. It was great ring still looks nice, I just wish I'd chosen a dresser ring. This was me.

in my high school no one bought the rings, but i bought one from herff-jones for college. it is really nice, but it was very pricey.
