I will be traveling to Disney the end of Oct with my husband daughter her fiance and 7 year old twins we are getting the dining plan but I was wondering does the quick service count at buffets? My husband was told they got QS meals when they went to buffets but I wasn't sure that sounded right so I told my husband I would ask the boards.

Unless he was referring to the food courts as a buffet, the standard/normal buffets at Disney World requires the use of a TS credit.

No, the buffets are considered TS restaurants so you cannot use QS credits. At buffets there is a CM at the entrance podium who seats you at a table and a CM who clears your dishes and keeps your beverages filled.

Perhaps the person meant the food court and cafeteria style venues (e.g. Sunshine Seasons in Epcot, food courts and QS at the resorts). At these venues you order at a counter or kiosk, pay a cashier then find your own table and bus your own trays. One exception is BOG at lunch, which is a QS credit, but your food is brought to you, although you do find your own table and get your own drinks.
