Hello! I'm completely new to the DDP as I never thought we would use it! But free dining and wanting to do character dining brought me over to the "dark side" :)

I have several questions that I'm not completely sure about.

Ok so I am getting the regular DDP, so 1 TS, 1 CS, and 1 Snack a day (night), per person in the party. I think I understand this.

Ok now some of my questions revolve around what you can order at these restaurants. I've spent time looking at menus and planning our sit down meal locations, but just had a few questions.

I know that a TS credit includes the entre, dessert, and a non alcoholic drink (?)

A lot of our meals are buffets, and those are easy to understand.

But for instance, one of our meals is Via Napoli. We have two adults and a child. How do you know if any of the meals on the entres are two adult credits or one? Does that make sense? Like they have pizza. Would each of the pizzas cost "2" TS credits, as they serve 2-4 people? I wasn't sure how that worked.

Another one that we are going to is Portobello in DTD (my picky husband does like Italian). That is part of the DDP I believe, so would it be the same? We can choose any entre and any dessert? I didn't know if there were certain things that must be shared.

Also, as far as desserts - are you able to order any dessert from the menu as your free dessert or are there certain ones you can get?

These are probably incredibly stupid questions, but I wanted to make sure.

And while I'm here - my friends family is going at the same time, and she has a 2 year old. He is free obviously. So does he just eat off their plate? And at buffets does he just share with them? She asked me and I honestly wasn't completely sure!

Thank you for your help!

Via Napoli: I believe that it is 2 TS credits for a large pizza, or you can get an individual size for 1 TS. The amount of desserts and drinks remain the same per credit.

Portobello: You can order what you want per person.

Deserts: Anything is usually covered. However, something like the Sparkling Volcano at Rainforest Cafe might cost 2 dessert credits since it is made for two or more people.

Thank you so much! I was thinking for the individuals so that is perfect.

There are a few who have said they could combine credits at Via Napoli, but the majority (99%) say you CANNOT combine or share credits at Via Napoli for the larger pizzas, so ordering the individuals is your only choice and it is 1 TS credit. You can also order any of the other entrees.

As for your friend, her 2 yr old can get her own plate at buffets, but at a la carte places, they'll need to share with her or pay OOP for something for her.

I know that a TS credit includes the entre, dessert, and a non alcoholic drink (?) Correct. The non-alcoholic drink is a standard fountain beverage such as soda, coffee, tea, iced tea, lemonade - basically the kinds of drinks that include free refills or are at the self service beverage station in the food court. Also a bottle of water at most CS.

But for instance, one of our meals is Via Napoli. We have two adults and a child. How do you know if any of the meals on the entres are two adult credits or one? On the dining plan brochure it lists the Table Service restaurants and the restaurants and dinner shows that require 2 credits per person. I've linked the brochure at the end of this post.

Does that make sense? Like they have pizza. Would each of the pizzas cost "2" TS credits, as they serve 2-4 people? I wasn't sure how that worked. As a PP said, Via Napoli is very strict when you use dining credits. You can only order the individual pizza (1 credit) and you cannot use 1 credit to feed 2 people. Most other TS restaurants will let you share which is a good way to save credits for additional meals or 2 credit meals.

Another one that we are going to is Portobello in DTD (my picky husband does like Italian). That is part of the DDP I believe, so would it be the same? We can choose any entre and any dessert? I didn't know if there were certain things that must be shared.Yes, any of the entrees can be ordered and virtually any dessert. If an item is listed as "for 2" then 2 adults would have to use their entitlements for that item.

Also, as far as desserts - are you able to order any dessert from the menu as your free dessert or are there certain ones you can get? Pretty much every dessert can be ordered. The only ones that are usually excluded are the Kitchen Sink at Beaches and Cream and the multi person desserts at T-Rex and Rainforest Cafe. Grand Floridian Cafe has a Dessert Sampler for 2 so 2 adults would have to use their entitlements for this and it's very good.

These are probably incredibly stupid questions, but I wanted to make sure. There is never a stupid question. Ask away! :)

And while I'm here - my friends family is going at the same time, and she has a 2 year old. He is free obviously. So does he just eat off their plate? And at buffets does he just share with them? She asked me and I honestly wasn't completely sure! At TS he can share with others at the table. If she wants to order something specifically for him she can pay OOP. At buffets he can have his own plate.

Thank you for your help!

Here is a link to the DDP brochure. All the TS restaurants and dinner shows that require 2 credits per person have a little 2 listed after its name:

This is a link to the confirmed snack credit thread. There are so many more items than what is mentioned in the DDP brochure:

There are many threads on the Restaurant and the Dining Plan boards that will give you a lot of information on the DDP. Have fun reading and asking questions.
