I recently made reservations at SSR for October. MS asked me if I wanted the DDP; I said yes. Now I'm reading that you have to purchase a park ticket to get the DDP. Does this apply to DVC members? I was thinking of doing a 10-day No Expiration ticket (using 5 days this trip and 5 days the next). Will getting the DDP be a problem on the next trip since we won't need to purchase a ticket?

When staying at a DVC resort on points, you can get the DDP without buying park tickets.

Your costs for DDP are approximately $30/day per adult, for the length of your stay. You cannot purchase for fewer days, or fewer than the number of people staying in your villa. So in your case, if it was 2 adults staying 5 nights, it will cost you about $300 to purchase the DDP.

You pay for the DDP when you check-in.

What if one of your nights is a cash reservation, but the other 6 nights is on points? Can you still get it for the full 7 nights? Also, is there a DVC discount for DVC members? I thought it was $37.99/adult.

No discount on the Dining Plan for DVC members. You are correct - the basic plan is $37.99 per adult per night and $9.99 per child ages 3-9 per night.

As already mentioned, DVC members staying on points (at either a DVC resort or a non-DVC WDW resort) do not have to pucharse tickets to get the dining plan. They do not have to stay a minimum number of nights to get the plan. If they buy the dining plan, they DO have to buy it for every member of their party for every night of their stay. DVC members pay for the dining plan at check in.

If DVC members are paying cash for some nights of their stay and book the cash nights via MS, then they may (must) buy the dining plan for the entire stay. If the cash nights are booked via CRO/WDWTC, then to get the dining plan for the cash nights, they must follow CRO/WDWTC rules (buy a ticket, minimum stay, pay in advance, etc.).

No matter how you buy the plan (from MS or CRO/WDWTC), it works the same.
