DDP - B-day Cake AND Dessert?

If you pre-order a special cake or dessert (like a slipper dessert) and you're on the DDP, do they STILL bring you the dessert each person gets? For those who have done this, what do you usually do? Skip the DDP dessert? Take it back to your hotel? Eat it AND the special ordered dessert?

Last year, DH ordered a special anniversary dessert for us at Coral Reef. It was at no extra charge, but it took the place of our DDP dessert. It was a chocolate creation with raspberries and chocolate mousse and a "Happy Anniversary" chocolate banner.

If you pre-order a special dessert/cake for a celebration, you will still get the regular desserts that are included.

It's up to you what to do with all that dessert!

For us when we had a birthday cake at CRT we still got our desserts and picked at them and we also did my birthday cake, cut it up and picked at it. Most of it went to waste but it was our choice. I was just happy to be at MK for my 40th birthday. I knew most of it would go to waste.

Even when we ordered the slipper and the mini wedding cake at 1900 park fare buffet, most of it went to waste as well but it was still worth it for the surprised look on my girl's faces.

We just did this on May 14 at LTT (party of 8 all on the DP)

We were on the DP and I'd special ordered a b-day cake for my mother in law. The cake was brought out & we sang and ate it. The next day I thought, "Hmmm, no one asked us if anyone wanted our regular dessert".

I didn't really matter because we were all tooooo full anyway.

As nice as our server was, I'm sure she would've brought out dessert for any of who would've requested it. We didn't think about it, & she didn't offer.

***We had way too much cake and left the uneaten half with the family at the next table. They had 3 kids who were eyeing ours the entire time.
