Effective for orders placed on or after January 1, 2006 there are new prices for the DDE card.

Annual or Seasonal Passholders - $ 60.00

Florida Residents (not AP or SP) - $ 85.00

Florida Resident (not AP or SP) Renewal - $ 70.00

Second member of the household to get a card will be $ 25.00 instead of free.

If y9ou have been thinking of ordering a DDE card, you need to do it by the end of this week.

thanks for the info! we used ours last year....already saved more than the $50 we spent.

We have an AP & a DDE card as well. Our present DDE runs out at the end of February 2006, APs run out late next fall. If we renew this week, before January 1st, a couple of questions...
1) Will our 2 DDE cards renew at the 2005 $50 rate, even though our membership runs out in 2006?
2) Will we still have the 2nd card for free?

Thanks,
agnes!

Thanks for the headsup. As AP holders, I'm still just grateful that we can get DDE. :cool1: After so many years of spending big bucks at the restaurants, we loved having it last year. Not sure if we'll do the second card though as most of the time we dine together unless one of us is doing room service with DS2 and then we can't use DDE anyway.

Ouch on the $25 for the second card.

I don't mind renewing at 60, that isn't too horrible but the extra 25 I will have to do without.

That will really make us have to be sure that we have it on us.

Same situation for us too. DDE runs out 2-26 and AP expires 10-19. If anyone calls to find out this answer, please post the response.

Thanks for the heads up. Our DDE card is good til Oct 31, 2006, so we are safe for awhile. I am disappointed that a second card will be $25. We don't really need one, so I will not take them up on that option when we renew.

Wow - that is a huge jump!!!!

I share the card with a friend - that is nearly a double price jump for each (from $25 to over $40 each).

Add us to the folks who will say "no thanks" to the extra card. Not worth the $25 for the maybe once or twice we used it seperately. I guess the DDE folks think that people will pay. Time will tell...

I know I won't be paying for the second card. Not worth it for the few times we don't eat together.

It may be this type of situation that led to the additional charge. :confused3

Good point, BCV. I always put my DH's name on the second card, as I thought that was who it was meant for...someone living in the same house. Did not occur to me to put a friends name on it and split the cost of the card. I wonder if that is technically "allowed?"

Probably not.

Just got through....there is no such thing as a "renewal". Regardless of your cards end date, if you want to buy it now, you will have a January 31, 2007 end date,

Oh well, guess it will cost me a little more as we are always February vacationers (thus mine now ends 2/28/06)

The AP website is specific about that: "The second membership card is for spouses and partners only, not other family members." Very clear.

The person whom I quoted may have meant a partner but used the word friend? :confused3 I was not trying to flame that individual. But the intent of the second card really could not be more clear.

Just renewed with the 2005 rules for 2006, we have APs so it was $50 for another year with a complimentary 2nd card. Otherwise the DDE would have cost us $85 ($60 for AP membership + $25 for my DH's 2nd card). I like having the second card(can you say sometimes one of us misplaces things boys & girls?), but if the 2007 DDE membership is still charging extra for a second one, forget it. We'll just get the one card - $25 extra for the second card isn't worth it to me.

When we initially purchased a DDE membership, they 'gave' us an extra month because the cards took *forever* to get here, so all I'm really giving up is that 'free' month. Our expiration date was February, now it's January 2007. Worth it to me to lock in the DDE at present rate.

agnes!

Agnes, is your new expiration 1/31/07? I better do what you just did. We are in the exact same boat.
