DDE card

I just received my card in the mail a few days ago and the letter with it had the PoP and POFQ foods courts listed on it.

We used it last week at the Pop food court and only had to show some ID that matched the DDE card.

We ate at Citrico's, 6 people, the bill was a good amount, I cannot remember total now, we applied our DDE to it and it knocked $50 dollars off the total amount. You cannot beat that, although we do tip on the original amount as we think that is fair to the waitress, but that is just us...(My Mom was a waitress so I am always thinking that way.)

If you can renew before your AP runs out, do it... well worth the money.

Thanks for that info!

Mackey Mouse-I usually just tip the amount of the discount which would be 20% of the original bill. Nice and easy that way. I'm an accountant but don't want to have to "calculate" anything on vacation! :teeth:

That's what I do too.

I sure hope people don't tip on the discounted total. If so, servers must hate to see that card. :scared1:

I do that as well. Nice and easy!!!

When does the DDE card become activated? When you receive it or when you first use it? I bought an AP for the first time today! :Pinkbounc :jumping1: :jumping3:

It's just a card with a month end expire date so it good for 12 months after purchase. They usually give you an extra month if you purchase after the 10th or 15th or something. It takes about 3 weeks for the card to arrive but if you don't get the card before your trip you can pick up a temporary card at Epcot's guest services.

First off good info on this thread! My DDE expires 2/28/06 and I plan on renewing. I received the application form for renewal and it says that if I don't renew in 30 days that I'll be charged the new member rate. I don't see any difference in rates between new and renewal? I would rather renew for May since we go each May and can double up. Any thoughts or experience with this?
