DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Morning folks.

Sure was nice being able to go outside and enjoy some warmth and sunshine. Anyways, it's dumping snow like crazy right now. Summer was nice while it lasted.

Well, we're back to Monday and another work week.
Hump day for me, today.
My plan to work from home today and Friday was dashed when I was given a desk at the office to use.
That'll do it.
My recent discovery is a couple that set out to travel to 100 countries, which they accomplished,
What a cool idea! Not sure if I can even name 100 countries that I want to go to. Can name several, but... 100? Nope.

Morning, fellas. Got my 2nd dose of Pfizer vaccine on Saturday. Felt fine for the most part, just had a rough night Saturday night--muscle aches, chills, lack of sleep and this third arm growing out of my back. Had some coffee and Tylenol Sunday morning and felt fine going forward. Bring on summer vacation!

Anyone seen Dan lately?
No reason... just wondering.

:rotfl2:

He was poking fun at me on FB over the weekend, so I think he's fine.

Yeah 100 points is a smaller contract. It really depends on a lot of factors. Party size, when you want to go, and the size of room and view you want. We bought a 220 point and that is the bare minimum for us. It will give our family of 5 one week in Aulani one year in an 1 bedroom island view. (borrowing 25 points from the coming year) and 8 days at Old Key West the other year for under 195 points. We can stay other places but would have to stay less than a week at WDW

Idealy 275-300 points is what we wanted but money was the ultimate factor. We are blessed our kids will be home schooled so we are flexible on when we can go and January in Montana is a lower points cost and a perfect time to escape winter. We are also okay with staying at Old Key West at WDW because it has the largest rooms and we don’t need to stay in the action like Bay Lake Tower or Beach Club Villas. We want to go to Aulani at least every other year or else we would of bought at WDW.

A crappy day. DW's friend's husband died in a car accident. My dad is in the hospital. Only 2 plans so far are d/c to nursing home or home with Hospice.

Ah, man. I'm sorry, Norm. Prayers for the family.

Don't know whether to laugh or cry at this.

Nice.
I'm still waiting on my first. Canada is woefully behind in vaccinations. It's embarrassing, really.
this third arm growing out of my back.
Nice! For those hard to reach places.
Don't know whether to laugh or cry at this.
Feel free to laugh at me while I cry.

Morning All, welcome to a breezy Monday. Great clothes drying day, my day is set!

Sorry to hear Norm, thoughts and prayers to both families.

Morning, Gents! Well, we're back to Monday and another work week. My plan to work from home today and Friday was dashed when I was given a desk at the office to use. Ok, so I have to go into the office....I can handle that.

I hear you, so far I've moved from the sofa to the lazy-boy. Handling it so far.

I'm still waiting on my first. Canada is woefully behind in vaccinations. It's embarrassing, really.

I have an appointment for my first AstraZeneca shot on the 24th. That the benefit of being over 55.

Nice.

Ugh. I'm sorry it's been such a struggle. I can't say my own country has covered itself in glory in all this, but I am thankful for the speed of the vaccination effort.

Nice! For those hard to reach places.

So many comments here, none of them DIS-friendly.

Feel free to laugh at me while I cry.

Oh, of course. I do that all the time.

When they said it shouldn't be given to anyone under 55, it was opened up to 55 and over here. All the others are still at 65 or 70.
Not here. No difference between the brands. 60. Period.

This whole thing has been one long nightmare.

:rolleyes1
Oh, of course. I do that all the time.
This is a truism.

Just having some fun with you.
Sorry about all the mess with friends/relatives.

I knew you were, but you very rarely will hear me complain about too hot. Last year, summer, high 90s, riding the bike and had my gear on (unlike many of the idiots here). Was it hot? Yep. Did I complain? Nope. (Okay, well maybe but just to myself) :lmao:

Amen to that.

The worst heat I experience now is when I visit my parents' house. I swear they must keep the "air-conditioning" set at 85F in there. Then they cram us into their tiny family room and show us all 1,700 unedited photos of their latest vacation. Just brutal.

Yikes! Nope! For $1,000/night I'd want something that DW would certainly not approve of!

Oh man, that's rough. Sorry you're going through all that.

So I do a lot, and I do mean a LOT of YouTubing. I have an eclectic taste when it comes to watching videos. My recent discovery is a couple that set out to travel to 100 countries, which they accomplished, then COVID set in. Now they're traveling around the country. Totally cool channel, which, I'm sad to say that I got sucked into and have been binge watching for most of the weekend. This have led to other travel channels for me to watch. I have officially gone down the rabbit hole from where there is no return. :teeth: And if anyone is curious, the channel I've watch is Kara and Nate on the Tube of You.

:thumbsup2

My brother has contemplated moving to Tennessee when he retires, but then he got a promotion and I haven't heard anything about that sense. Hhaving a place in the country would be nice, but a lot of work. I'd love to have some space to spread out and not be near people.

I get it. The case load is a problem, and one I hope your bosses will figure out at some point.

So sorry to hear, my prayers go out to all.

Thanks guys. My dad will go home from the hospital tomorrow with Hospice, which means he's been determined to be terminal with less than 6 months. Yesterday, I did the d/c plan at the hospital. I didn't write it down, but I talked it with thru with my mom and then called and made the referrals. Part of me feels relief that I accomplished that. Part of me is angry that I had instead of their hospital staff.

Anyway, they will set up a hospital bed tomorrow and bring him home by ambulance. He will have nursing and cna thru Hospice, and my mom will hire some extra daily help to not have to do as much personal care.

It's been a whirlwind weekend, and I managed to keep it together today at work. Not knowing if my plan would work was the worst part. And, it was another crazy, busy day.

Tennis practice made the day a little bit fun.

And the hits just keep on coming. Sorry, man.

Morning boys from a sunny London. Windsor store opened yesterday, so coming up to breathe.

Sorry bud, looks like you are getting it from all sides. Bacon, Man hugs and Mickey bars for you.

They have just opened up 45+ here, so I have numero uno tomorrow, and duo on Jun 30. Bacon and Man Hugs for you.
He was poking fun at me on FB over the weekend, so I think he's fine.
Your honour, my client was merely responding to a tee up that was just begging to be swung at.
How did the visits go? Some of those places looked expensive. Bacon and Man hugs for you.
Last year, summer, high 90s, riding the bike and had my gear on
Bacon and Man hugs for you, and particularly for your washing machine.
Anyone seen Dan lately?
No reason... just wondering.
I think we wore roller skates to even things up a bit. I'll stick with my selection. I am a man of my word. As clearly I am in a benevolent mood, even though you mocked the Habs, Man hugs for you. You have to earn your bacon back.
Add a contract at Boardwalk so we can book there at 11 month window at least every other year. All other points are at Kidani. Was able to buy a shorter contract from DVC direct and set up with all other contracts for December Use Year.
Congrats on the continued case of addonitis. Bacon and Man Hugs for you.

Anyone else, I'll just toss some bacon and man hugs on the pile, feel free to pick em up.

Have a great day chaps.

Morning, Gents! Day off for me then back to working in a primary care office tomorrow. All's well so far. Have a good day.

I think Mother Nature's drunk.

What a cool idea! Not sure if I can even name 100 countries that I want to go to. Can name several, but... 100? Nope.

Isn't it, though? Man that'd be awesome. If I remember correctly, they quit their jobs to travel for one year but kept on going. I'd love to have done something like that when I was younger. Actually, I'd love to do that now, but life got in the way.

Congrats on getting the 2nd dose. Your 3rd arm? Well, that's another matter. It could come in handy, you know.

I'm still waiting on my first. Canada is woefully behind in vaccinations. It's embarrassing, really.

Canada needs to step up their game.

I hear you, so far I've moved from the sofa to the lazy-boy. Handling it so far.

That's quite the change...glad the move went well for you.

I remember those vacation picture watching parties, except for me and it was with my grandparents.
