Tomorrow's Friday. So glad this week has come to an end. It absolutely confirms my decision to go PRN. I was back to 20 patients today, but ended up discharging 12 of them. So, it will be lots more work tomorrow. Pay's great, but the pace is just tremendous.

YUP!!! :lmao:

We have lots of those too, and doubt they were all that effective.

Morning, Gents! Had a good day yesterday in what is supposed to be the busiest primary office in the system. It was busy, just not as bad as I thought....maybe it was an off day. So basically it was a good day. I did get an email from my manager asking if I'd be willing to work 2 days a week in my old department working on faxes. I'd be working 2 days as a Fax Server Coordinator and 2 days as a Floating Receptionist. If they can swing it, I'll be able to work 2 days a week from home, Mondays and Fridays,. I did mentioned to my manager that I'd need a computer to log into to work from home, and she said she'd look into it, so we'll see how it goes. But to be able to work from home on Mondays and Fridays during the summer is a sweet deal. If I can get it. Well, have a good day, gents.

Two days at home ain't bad if you can get it. The hospital employees that were sent home still haven't returned. I guess it's not bad, but some things aren't as efficient. It's a new post-COViD world, and this maybe the trend going forward.

Hey fellas, just checking in. We had another 24-hour getaway as my boys and wife are on spring break this week. We took a drive up to State College, PA to see the campus of Penn State University as we start looking at colleges for my oldest son. Can't do official tours but we do pretty well on our own. We also had a stop in Hershey at the chocolate factory and made it to Philadelphia for the Phillies game yesterday in some beautiful weather. With only 10,000 fans allowed, I've never had an easier time dealing with traffic after the game.

Last time we went to a Reds vs Pirates game in Cincinnati, we parked in the stadium garage and got out with very little traffic. It was the most organized egress I've been a part of for any event. That's been a decade ago I guess.

Enjoy the school tour. We set aside enough for 2 years of college for each child. Maybe that wasn't enough. I paid for my tuition, DW did loans, and I paid DW's loans after we were married. Then, my oldest skipped college for trade apprenticeship, so who knows.

Finally Friday, Gents! You know, there's really busy days that make the days fly by and the satisfaction you get from completing all that you need to do. Take Wednesday instance. I was at an office that had 76 patients for the day and the constant ringing of the phones. The day flew by as a result. Then there's yesterday. 17 patients and the phones rang 2 times. There was nothing to do except wait and read. So I read training materials all day, not what I really wanted to read. Today's office is all virtual visits, so I'm not sure what to expect. Happy Friday, gents!

Sounds like a fun time.

Hope that works out for you. Not having to commute for a couple of days would be just fine.

So there's an upside to a global pandemic!

Cue the Monty Python song "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life."

Yup. yesterday they were in diapers. Now they're looking at you thinking "Pretty soon they'll be in diapers."

I look at the elderly patients being accompanied to the doctor's office by their adult kids and I think to myself, "That'll be me one day being companied by my DD." DD: "Dad, you're drooling again."

Sounds like you made a good choice. :thumbsup2

I love working from home, and will take it when I can get it. Though I do appreciate going into the office as well. So I actually get both....which is nice.

Heh. I knew I'd get my revenge someday.

Usually it's not terrible in Philly because the stadium is close to the highway entrance ramp, but there's generally a line. This time, no traffic at all.

That was pretty much the deal we gave our kids. I can pay for X years at the in-state rate for the state university. If you do anything else, you need to find a way to make up the difference.

Happy Friday dads. Hope you have a great weekend. Planning on grilling some brats and sitting by the pool. Still not warm enough to get IN the pool.

Glad Friday is here. Another stressful day. Where I d/c 11 or 12 yesterday, I got that many new patients/ new assessments today. I got to see all the new ones and all but 2 of my old ones, which I had plans for. It's still just a tremendous pace.

I'd happily take a slow day. I'll be full time until Mid May, and then begin PRN. Sounds like I'll average 2 days a week, which is 2, 10 hour days. The other new PRN person worked 3 days last week and 3 days this week. Sounds like I'll still have plenty of work to do.

You Florida types. Always complaining about the weather not being hot enough until it's too hot.

Morning, Gents! Well, I didn't think it could get any slower, but it did. I had a total of 9 patients yesterday. All in the morning. No patients in the afternoon. So I wound up scanning documents all day. But's it's now over and onto the weekend. Woohoo! Oh, and no flying the home desk job, at least not for Monday, I have to go into the office. I am hoping to finagle a home office time on Friday, but we'll see about that. Well, that's it, gents. Have a good day.

It's probably because I'm still fairly new, and I was unemployed for most of 2019, but I'd prefer to be busy. I keep thinking that if it's slow they're going to let me go. I have heard, though, that as a temp if you're doing a good job they won't let you go. I have to say, though, they better not string me along and keep me on as a temp for too long or I'm going to start applying for jobs in other departments. Enough of that, I'm going to have a good weekend.

Well with family increasing with first grandchild on the way, what do you do? Add a contract at Boardwalk so we can book there at 11 month window at least every other year. All other points are at Kidani. Was able to buy a shorter contract from DVC direct and set up with all other contracts for December Use Year. Plus got the same annual points retroactive for December 2020 use year. Have a good weekend gents and maybe I'll get on the Zoom if we have one tonight. Have a great weekend ..... Bacon, Bourbon, Cigars and Mickey Bars!
What’s the extra p in Papa for?
Got me, Pappa or Papa - good catch though Chief probably go with Papa
It's bourbon Wednesday. I could have went with Weller 12 Wednesday, but I don't have any Weller bourbon. So, it was a Basil Hayden night. Think I'll go outside for a cigar. What a busy day. Covered 1/2 an extra floor for 1/2 a day, which means I covered 30 patients. Pass the egg nog!!!

Some really good sounding days right there guys! Norm - you've given me a great idea for today :thumbsup2

Yep, I keep telling the kids for all the times at DaWorld dealing with strollers getting on and off buses and pushing them through the parks - someday you're gonna be pushing us through the parks :rotfl2:

Afternoon Gents, beautiful Saturday here.

Out for breakfast with the better half this morning at one of the best pubs around, especially if you are into scotch, bourbon and whiskey. They stock so many they created an app to use as their menu. Quick trip to the bank to deposit some of the tax return to cover off next year's cruise and then to Costco, fun times.

Did get the propane tanks filled though so it looks like grilled burgers later this afternoon.

Have a good one all.

Check with Joe on the Zoom, he's setting them up now.

I was so sure you were gonna say "...to cover off breakfast."

It's a great Saturday. Gun range this AM, house hunting with DW, and tennis this afternoon. It's been a fun, full day.

DW found a new home builders subdivision, and a home under construction for $300K. It was a really nice house, scheduled to be done in June, and is the flagship home for the annual tour of home builders construction. Now, we could sell our current house for about 1/2 that, and then keep working to pay it off.

Part of me would rather live in the county on 10 acres or so. Part of me would like the new house as it will probably continue to increase in value. Part of me wants to stay here and not worry about paying more bills. What to do.

I'm ok with working and being busy, but I just don't see how anyone can manage the caseload. And, it only will get bigger. I've managed 20 patients, but some manage 30 patients. I don't see how that is possible. And, if so, I don't want to work that hard at this point in my life.

What are you going for? 1 BR seem to be abundant at BWV and you may get at 7 months majority of the year. If you want the 2 BR or GV, buy at BW.

Don't tell anyone that. You may get cancelled. :lmao:

Gun range this AM, house hunting with DW,
You sight in the gun at the range first. Good idea. I personally couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, so before house hunting I'd want to practice too.

A difficult choice. Not kidding.

Acrerage is work. No doubt about that always a project going on or a pop up “oh crap” needs to be fixed. I love my lifestyle and wouldn't trade it for the world BUT it is not for everyone.

Have you thought about a subsidized dues Aulani contract?
