DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Sorry, dude.
I'd send some, but... with the weight, I'm betting it would cost around $40 just for shipping.
I love maple flavored stuff. This pie shop near my house makes a maple bacon flavored pie it is almost like pecan pie. But with maple and salty bacon pieces. I justify the $40 for pie because of the maple.

There was more at the store. Bought a 4-pack.
Have no idea.

Ah, well, if there's more at the store then go for it.

Huh. Is it worth anything??

Haven't a clue, but a quick glance on EBay has one for $30. It'd probably be worth more if I had a 6-pack. This 1 bottle was given to me by my mom's cousin, who has since passed away.

Well Monday should be in the bag except maybe for the new guy who is a bit more west than the rest of us. I'll second what Darcy referenced, ya gotta give Brady a tip of the hat. Let's have a good week and be safe out there.
Hi Gents,
New to this thread but been on here since 2008 with years of radio silence. Let me see
My name is Josh. I live in Montana have a small family farm. First trip was Disneyland in 1984. Was a DLR cast member from 1999-2002. Left for the military in mid 2002. First trip to WDW was 2008. Married and 2 sons (3&2). A daughter on the way in 6 weeks. Recently under contact for a DVC contract so I can leave my kids a Disney legacy and alway have memories of Mom and Dad taking them to Hawaii and WDW. Currently a federal employee after a early retirement from the military. Anything else you want to know just ask.

Hmmm... maybe I'll buy another 6 pack and see if anyone is interested on Ebay... plus shipping.

Interesting. How old is it?

It wouldn't hurt...but hold on to it for a few years before doing that.

That I couldn't tell you, but Paul "Bear" Bryant died in '83, and Coke released this bottle sometime after his death, people lined the freeway for miles to catch the funeral procession go by, so I'd guess 37/38 years?

Drink it. It’s nicely aged now. ;)

It’s going for $30+ a 4 pack on EBay plus $15 shipping
$30? Huh!
But I couldn’t match that shipping cost.

Morning, Gents, from a snow covered Cape Cod, with more snow on the way. Apparently we're due to get more snow today, not much from what I understand, but more nonetheless. While I'm happy that I finally got a job with the company I've been wanting to work for for years, even if it is just as a temp, it seems that Murphy just isn't done throwing curve balls my way. Discovered last night that we have some problems here in the house. I went down to the basement for something and discovered water all on top of the washing machine and dryer. I thought, "Hmmm, well that's odd and certainly not supposed to happen." So naturally I looked up and saw, what looks to me, the seams on the underside of the subfloor were wet. Now, not sure if that's the way they always look (I don't make it a habit to look up at the subflooring), so either the water is somehow leaking in a pip inside the wall and then running down the inside of the wall, or a pipe in the basement is just leaking. Either way this isn't good. Well, when I went to tell the wife she informed me that while giving our DD a bath the water in the tub was yellow. That's definitely not supposed to happen. I instantly thought of the hot water heater. When they go the water is usually brown in color (colour for you British folks) and not yellow...unless this is the beginning of it. Either way I called a plumber friend of ours to come take a look at it. Hopefully it isn't too bad. At most expecting to have to replace the water heater, it's been in the house for over 20 years and may be coming to it's end. We shall see. Well, onwards and upwards. Right?

Copy that.

:thumbsup2

It would be aged nicely, wouldn't it? Mmmmm Flat Coke. :teeth:

But you'd make someone south of the border real happy! :teeth:

Yikes. Yeah, it's definitely time to have a plumber take a look. I'd say after 20 years the hot water heater is probably due to be replaced. But if there's water dripping from above you probably also have a leak somewhere (your hot water heater is in the basement, right?). So it might be two different problems. Hopefully the plumber will figure it out quickly.

On a side note, I think my favorite episodes of Mythbusters were the ones where they shut off all the pressure release valves on the hot water heaters. Man, that was just spectacular.

Morning all from a cold Douglas, NB. Polar vortex seems to be making it's way so cold for the rest of the week. I decided to work from home today, not because of the cold but just to avoid people for a day. So just me and the cat hanging out for the day.

Have a good one all.

Just about to crack this open. Never seen it before...

Nope, not going to try that.

Yellow water is never good. Hope that you don't have a bad leak.

Happy Tuesaturday from a cool Westfield NB. We got about 5 inches of snow yesterday and school was canceled, so I got to hang out with DD. She helped for a while with the bathroom addition. last week I got the walls studded up, electrical and plumbing rough ins done and wall board hung and taped. This week I want to finish the crack filling, prime and paint, then put down a ceramic tile floor.

Just about to crack this open. Never seen it before...

I tried this a few weeks ago, I love maple syrup and found this had a nice maple flavour. It makes a nice mixer for Rum.

Hope your plumber can get this fixed for you soon.
