DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
We bought into Aulani since we live out west it is pretty reasonable for us to get to Hawaii, especially because my parents still live in OC near DLR and we can see then and just catch a flight from LAX. Our farm is cool we have a few animals but focus on produce and eggs to sell at farmer markets.

Never been to Aulani, but I have a plan. I'd like to drive across country, stay at DL in DVC resort, then cruise to Hawaii, stay at Aulani, cruise back, and drive home. That's a lot of moving parts, but it will probably be the only time we would make a West coast trip without winning the lotto.

Morning folks. First 3.5 hours of work in the books. As it looks like I’ll be violently ill for the next two nights, this should be my last shift until Feb 21. First set of vacation days in over a year.

Take Thursday and Friday off, you have my permission. And if anyone gives you any grief over it, just tell them I said it was ok. Ok?
I’ll quote you.
That's what we were missing. I knew that wouldn't count. :headache:
It’s pretty much a must.
Oh sure, scare him off. :confused3
Like anyone would be scared of us. Most of us. Some of us. One of us. (You know who you are.)
I think there is some event that happens today, anyone know what it is?
National shuffleboard championship.

What did you do? I sometimes wish I had transferred to the parks.
I started doing this program called ROP where I worked at DLR but didn’t get paid but got high school credit. I worked on the DLRR for about 6 months which was awesome. Then I for hired on for real once I was at the right age and was hired in Outdoor Vending. Churros, popcorn, cotton candy helped over at DCA when it opened in one of the counter services. I did that for 6 months and then auditioned for the ZooCrew (Characters). Did that till I left for the military in July 2002 about 2 years.

Morning, Gents! While we didn't get the 9" they predicted, we did get a few inches of snow yesterday. Time was spent outside with the DD and dog and then back inside for hot cocoa. Now, back to Monday and work. Have a good day, gents, and we'll chat later.

You don't look so good, my friend. Take some time off. Rest. Feel better.

I’ll quote you.

Please do. And tell them my name is Bond. James Bond. :smooth:

Maybe on the big Aircraft Carriers they have them. Yeah, I think they do, right next to the bowling alley. :teeth:

That's cool. I wanted to the College Program, and seriously looked into it when I was at UNM in Albuquerque, but at the time my grades weren't that good I wound up taking time off from college while I decided what I wanted to do with my life. By the time I got back into school I was over wanting to do the program, besides, I was too old for it anyways. Still wish I had had that experience, though. Next life, right?

The navy leans towards shuffleboard

:thumbsup2

Morning All from a snowy Fredericton. Not much of a game last night but you've got to give a nod to Brady, the man just wins. He didn't deserve the MVP but hard to argue with 7 Super Bowl rings. The Bucs defense dominated that game and the MVP should have came from that side of the ball.

Have a great Monday all.

Morning folks.
Sure felt good not going in to work for the midnight shift.
I’m sure I’ll be just as happy missing tonight’s.

I heeded your advice.

That’s what sealed the deal.

Good point. And yet I wasn’t surprised at all that he got it. Kinda like... a lifetime achievement award.

If you all are wanting some snow we got plenty for you to come shovel and plow. Super warm too so bring your sunscreen! Starting the tractor now.

Afternoon chaps from a groggy London. Up till about 330am. Thought I may get a lay in but the kids came in at 745 to have a chat. Off today, so playing in the garden with the kids in the snow. I feel an early night is in my not too distant future.

Have a good one.

Hey guys, just a quick drive-by today. Hope you're all doing well, welcome to the new guys, good luck on the new jobs, etc., etc.

Crappy Super Bowl this year, but they can't all be monumental enduring classics like Super Bowl LII. Have a good one!

You look better, but take another day as a just-in-case. :thumbsup2

Good. Knew it'd work.

That’s what sealed the deal.

I knew it would, that's why I told you to use it. :thumbsup2

Nah, I'm good, thanks. 😆

While it wasn't a competitive superbowl, it was another stamp on the players vs coach debate. I was actually cheering for Brady this year since bellicheat wasn't around.

This morning at work has just flown by. I have a new training person this week who is letting me input information in the computer. The challenge will be to keep up to speed with the pace while I learn everything.

Our plan is to do Aulani every other year and WDW every other year. We will probably never DVC at DLR since my mom loves 7 minutes door to garage.

That is a fantastic perk not included with DVC ownership. :lmao:

We still shuffle those long term plans. I'd rather retire in Florida on a beach where it's warm. DW will make that conditional on where her parents and our children live. There is a chance for great changes in the next few years. I'd like a beach condo around the Destin area to be able to make frequent trips over the next decade. It's a 8-9 hour drive. After I retire a 2nd time, my preferable final destination area would be cocoa beach, with a short drive to WDW.

Thanks for looking out for me.

Can you expand on that?
