DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Morning dads from a Sunny, beautiful Orlando.
After church, will be packing more. Close on new house in 19 days. DW thinks there's a lot more to do before then than there is.
Kitchen is mostly packed (except for stuff we use often).
Office is 70% done.
1 guest room done and actually storage for boxes.
Master BR is really just beds and entertainment center. Packed up the VHSs(yep, many Disney movies on VHS, so still have 'em), DVDs and Cds yesterday, so just the TV and DVD player about all that's left.
Living room -- Two recliners, couch, TV stand, TV, pool table and that's about it.
Refrigerator, washer & dryer.

Not sure why she's so worried, but then again I've thought that for 34 years now.

Anyone have experience with two men & a truck? Thinking about doing that. Is a 5 mile move, so figuring we should be able to knock out fairly quick, but I don't want to do all the lifting this time.

Well I found the leak in the trailer, it came through a vent in the wall for the refrigerator, bad news is the wall and floor 3 feet either side of the vent is rotten. Took some pics and sent them to their insurance guy, he said it is covered but probably going to be a right-off.

Sunday. Calls for thick cut bacon wrapped in butcher paper

MMMMMM...Bacon, although I like mine a little crisper than that, with toast.

Afternoon guy.

The CF Snowbirds did their fly-over this morning in Fredericton. Unfortunately they didn't come far enough up the river for us to see them. Stole a picture from a friend though.

Since I wasn't able to see them, I decide I may as well get today's run in, new shoes tasted fine today.

Have a great Sunday all.

Happy Sunday.

It's been a couple of busy weeks for me, my wife lost a member of her work family and with her PTSD she struggled with it. I had an appoinment with my doctor yesterday to get results of a biopsy I had a couple of weeks ago. results where not what I wanted, the cancer has returned and I strat treatments on the 7th and will be once a week for six weeks.
Happy Saturday,,,, stay safe.

Prayers for your wife and for you.

Well, if you said you hurt your knee in bed, that may have been a good thing.
But in your sleep??

I wish I had a good story to share. Went to bed fine, woke up around 3 AM with pain, went back to sleep thinking it was a dream, but it wasn't. No external bruising. Still hurts today (not as much) on the inner, upper side by the knee cap when I bend. Since it hurts when bend to sit, I'm just going to stay in the recliner all day.

I believe you. I can barely move this morning because of my back. Was fine when I went to bed last night.

Old age itis? I'm treated mine with tequila. And, it got better.

Very cool!

DW pulled up on that other place where the thunderbirds and the blue angels flew together over Atlanta. I guess they've done that with a few cities now. That's cool...you don't often see them together.

The Ugly: I hurt my knee in my sleep last night. ***?!

That is called "aging". It sucks. At least when you are young you have good stories about your injuries.

Afternoon from a sun and cloud mix Westfield NB. Went grocery shopping this.morning Since it was overcast and cool this morning I got into the baking mode and made marshmallow chocolate fudge and homemade bread.

The fudge and the bread look great. Always willing to do quality evaluation on the fudge if needed.

Sorry to hear about the struggles. Continued prayers for you and your medical team. I hope your Mrs. gets some assistance with her PTSD to relieve some of your stress and her as well.

I'm exhausted just reading that.

That bites.

Will you be able to get money from that and do repairs? Or do you have to junk it and buy another?

Do you know why they're there? Would also explain why I haven't seen them around here for a bit.

I'll probably go soak in the tub. Still hurting pretty good.

Dang.
Baked a cake and it fell apart when I went to get it out of the pan. Should’ve left it in there, but the recipe talked about icing the sides. Live and learn.

Or next time I’ll put parchment paper on the bottom

I'm hoping they just write it off it would be easier for me to just replace as I would have to do all the repairs, her husband is a great guy but has zero mechanical/carpentry skills, thank god he works for the government, Lol
It got better...
Nice do you want to share.

You can use my method, and scoop icing on to fork, then cake, eat and repeat.

DD decided to crumble it and layer it with chocolate pudding, and whipped cream. Should be good. :)

And it has come to this.

I just got up to get ready for night shift. Flipping through the channels I noticed NBC has the Vancouver 2010 gold medal hockey game on. I’m watching it while I wake up with a cup of tea.

Can’t wait to see who wins.
My money's on Russia.

Operations Inspiration. They are going across the country as a salute to those who have had to be on the front lines of the covid. They post their schedule the day before on their social media sites.

Old Man "itis" hit this morning when my back decided to spasm. If I get the muscle relaxant in before those start I am good but once they cramp like this it is a trip to the clinic for some steroid pills. So the last sunny day for a week was wasted in bed.
praying 🙏

So, she basically made a trifle. Personally, I think the ice cream option @Zmack suggested is better.

Not nice.

Sorry man. I know first hand, back problems SUCK!

Morning, Gents!

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I didn't get back down to the basement, but I got in about 3 hours overtime at work Saturday morning. Later that afternoon, I pulled out my lawnmower and got it started and gave my lawn a once over. I also cleaned the front gardens and started the back, but didn't get it finished. Sunday I was up on the roof cleaning the gutters while the wife cleaned the back gardens and the DD played. Over all, it was a good weekend. Hope everyone has a good Monday, and we'll chat later.

Yeah, that exhausting.

Well now, that's just...wrong. :sad2::laughing:

I can sympathize. Feel better, dude.

Dang, Rob. I'm sorry to hear that. Hope the new treatments work well.

But in your sleep??

Ah, the sleep injury. Wish I could say I was immune.

Moving sucks. Always has, always will.

Cool shot!

We just missed the Blue Angels/Thunderbirds flyover here. They went a few miles west of us. We could hear the jet engines, though.

Welcome to Monday - a rainy, dreary Monday.

Almost time to start those pesky Zoom calls again. I long for the day of conference calls where you could simply mute your mike and do something else. ;)

Have a good one all.

She, along with many others got some really good shots. I was about 2 miles short of the flight path so all I got was the sound.
