DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Forgot a few things I wanted to mention this morning:
  • Regarding favorite retired attractions, I should have included Osborne Lights!
  • And go ahead and whine and complain now but ............ Attraction Music - give me IASW as a solid top 5 especially under the current circumstances :stir:
  • HAPPY 31st ANNIVERSARY TO STUDIOS!

Have a great weekend guys!

Raglan Road - Have never had a bad meal here - my kids love the dancers.

Earl of Sandwich - How do they make a sandwich taste so good?? Why can't I get this in Ohio?

The Daily Poutine - it's Poutine - enough said.

I haven't eaten much at downtown Disney, so for the few I have

Raglan Road
Boathouse
Blaze pizza

If we're counting desserts, then Vivoli Il Gelato is amazing.

I may have mentioned this before (not sure if here. Vivoli Il Gelato has two stores. The other is in Florence, Italy. DW and I have been to both.

We don't spend much time at Downtown Disney or Disney Springs or whatever it is. Usually either the night before we check in or the day we check out. Can't remember any meals there other than some ice cream so I can't comment on the "best of". I do remember FIL dragging us all to DisneyQuest for what seemed like an eternity and that would go on to a list of "Least Missed at Disney World"

2. Horizons
3. Horizons

It was there when I first went but have managed to block out those painful memories so I don't know if I was on it or not.

They're starting to interview people for the open position that I've applied to. I haven't received my interview yet, so let's hope that happens or I'm going to be one T'd off temp. I may not want to work for this company for years, but I do need a job. The wife and DD have been in a baking mood lately, so I've been coming home to fresh baked banana breads, lemon breads, cookies, brownies, and regular baked breads.

Hope you get the interview and enjoy the baked goods. If you ever have an over abundance of baked goods send them to me and I will store them for you. If you ever want them back you will just have to wait by your mailbox until they show up.

Lots of love for the Great Movie Ride yesterday. I must be in the minority, then, because I...didn't love it.

Nothing wrong with being in the minority. I am often there and I tell myself the cream rises to the top but there isn't much of it. I tell myself lots of things but it is when I start arguing with myself it gets dicey.

Okay, you just dropped a few notches in my book. Don't worry too much, my book means about as much as the poo you scrape off the bottom of your shoe when you step in it.

I loved DQ. Then again, I'm a product of the 70s and 80s where going to the arcade was the thing. There have been a lot of good games released on Atari, Intellivision, Nintendo, PS-X, etc., but some things just require the standup machine (most notably, pinball, ms pacman, missle command, joust) since trying to re-create the controls on a handheld controller just isn't the same.

Did he say that?

Thanks, I hope I get the interview as well...though I'm certain I will. Having worked here for the past six and a half months I have a good understanding of their systems and how things work, so one would think. However, we all know that things can and do happen. And if I ever have a need to store suck wonderful bake good, I will certainly let you know. 😉🤣

Hey, they just let me use the forklift, can you believe that?! They had me move 4 glider crates with gliders in them, each glider's worth about 100K easy.

We are about the same vintage. I prefer pinball and was pretty good at Skee-ball if I do say so. Just never got into video games much as I am too much of a ludite. I will confess to wasting a lot of quarters on Gauntlet at the Orange Grove on Friday nights with my housemates...quarter drafts, pizza slices for $1, and $1 White Russians. $10 would make for quite an evening. The women from the Woodsmen's team could carry you home if needed.

Have a great weekend guys!

Raglan Road
Cookes of Dublin
Earl of Sandwich

The only other places I've eaten down there that still exist are Rainforest and AMC Theatres.

So far I've resisted the peer pressure to start. 🤣

And there we complete the Epcot round the world challenge. The kids want to carry on, so next week we have Argentina and India.

Is the filling white or is that just the picture?
