Nothing compared to what the folks in FLA are gonna go through but just shows the size and scale of this one. Have a good weekend guys, enjoy some football and family and be safe to all that this thing will affect.

I see that. Not good...
It has slowed to a Cat-4 so there is an infinitesimally small bit of positive news (assuming it continues to slow rather than the opposite).
Current track is certainly unhelpful for the Bahamas and Florida.
But for me, holding that line will put it heading toward Atlanta and likely missing the Carolina altogether
(meaning: a lot of my neighbors will be looking to return mass quantities water and bread)

And there is one path that has it making it to KY. We will need to start hurricane proofing our houses here as well.

My sister (who remember had driven my mom back to FL on Monday) came through yesterday going back to MI. Took her a little over 12 hours for what is normally a 7 to 7 1/2 hour drive.

My mom, brother, SIL, nieces, etc. may be coming up now because the current track shows it coming up the center of the state (not looking good for Disney either).

Hopefully, by the time it hits Atlanta, it will be just heavy rain and winds. We're not at all close to being in a flood area, so other than making sure I have nothing outside that can turn into a projectile, should be good. The mountains north of us should do a good job knocking down a bunch of the outer bands of wind and rain also. We could use another cold front coming in to cool it down also.

Ironically, if they do come up, I will need to stock up on milk and bread not because of the storm, but simply increasing the volume in my house times 3 or 4.

Never worry about your outdoor projectiles. Always worry about your neighbors. Hope you can survive the storm with the inlaws and French toast.

Happy Friday. Skipped the gym.to pick up some groceries this morning. I'm stocked up with enough French toast. Oldest going to HS football game tonight with a friend and youngest going to sleepover at friend's house. We get a few hours of peace.

Morning boys from a relatively dark London, as its about 5:30 over here. In the habit of waking up and my mind starts going about work. Hey ho, 2 more weeks to go. My brother (he's actually my cousin but we grew up together) is supposed to be flying to Antigua this afternoon, so not sure that will happen as Jose, although not as bad as Irma, seems to have some bite to it as well. That weather radar with both of them on is crazy scary. Looks like the weather's just starting to turn up in Miami beach, All the very best to all in the region of that thing and stay safe.

Morning all. Played tennis (singles) this morning and mangled to win. Not a tournament, but against a 30 year old. I'm hurting now though. I don't know why I keep doing this to myself. Home and showered in time to watch Stoke City vs Manchester United at 28 min at 0-0. Man U seems to be loaded with the talent. Church picnic this afternoon is our biggest fundraiser, so I have to go limp around, spend money, and take photos for the website. You all have a great day.

Sadly, our homes aren't built to hurricane proof. Ike ripped my shingles off the last time, but insurance paid for it after a lot of negotiation for full replacement. I still had to pay the deductible.

I'm usually up around 6:00 AM. But, I have to drive oldest to morning swim practice, some of which start before 6:00 Am.
