DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Good Morning Gents, Long Time Disney Fan, new to DIS Boards. I have a wife and 2 daughters that think I have a problem but never object when I book a WDW Trip. hahaha. We have been to WDW 8 times since 2008 and every time it's Hard Core Parks. The wife and I were at DL in Sept 15 no kids just us. Not sure when the next trip will be but that has never stopped us before. One year we were watching the Disney Parade on Christmas morning, I looked at my wife and gave a nod of the head and she started booking a hotel. At 5pm that day we were on the road driving to WDW. 23 hr drive to the Happiest Place on earth.
I leave in Ottawa Canada and yes I am a Ottawa Senators Fan. Cheers.

Morning Men,

Random Tuesday fact - Californians have barbecues less often on Tuesday than any other day of the week.

Top O the Mornin Dads! MAy not be able to see depending on device & screen size but a 3rd ticker has been added, Decided to head down to DaWorld 12/27 - 1/02 to enjoy the Christmas atmosphere and just get away with the family. With DD getting married next summer taking advantage of the opportunities to enjoy the WDW family time. This will be our third trip during this time of year and we just go with the flow and plan well to manage the crowds which we have found not that horrible.
Zerfs vacation starts in T minus 40 hours , 20 min. I drop dd and dw off at the airport !!!!
They are heading down to Florida to surprise my father in law for his 80th birthday !!!
That is four days of peace and quiet !!!! All by myself!!!!!
Enjoy the down time. We have found that these types of breaks are good for everyone to get a small break from each other.

Guys, I need some help! DW and I are planning on celebrating our 10Y anniversary at WDW in November. Our ADR 180 day mark is May 9 and we're planning on doing a "planning dinner" on April 30. I'd like to make it special and incorporate some real Disney magic in it, without breaking the bank. Can you guys think of ways, other than just popping in a Disney movie, to really make the night fun. Also posting this over on Facebook page.

A disney inspired dinner? Pick some of your favorite things that you like at the World and "recreate" them at home. Cheddar cheese soup, steak from Yachtsman...

Great get. Can't see the ticker. Are you staying on property? My plan is to go earlier to get a MVMCP one year.

I'd use a playlist of music from the theme parks to set the mood.
You could give her a magic band or Disney parks button before dinner.
You could make Chicken and Waffles.
Do you have a way of presenting a slideshow of Disney pictures that you can see from where you'll be spending the evening.

Ooops, forgot, AKL Kidani Village 2 bdrm.

That one has three bathrooms, doesn't it? Now that's a vacation.
Yes it does and works nice as DS can have his own. Future SIL is likely joining us so this gives us lots of room to spread out. AKL is our home resort. Something that is in the MK loop or BWV / Beach Club would be great but those already do not have the full dates we are going and not even close to the 7 month booking window - so buses for us including on NYE which we have done in the past.

Thanks guys!

Would have been a nice day, sunny and warm I've heard, but I've been doing a colonoscopy prep. One year follow up so this is as good a time to get on my soapbox for the new guys. They are recommended at age 50. There are better things to do, but it may save your life. I wasn't expecting any problems when I had my first one last year, but ended up having 1/3 of my colon removed. Hopefully everything is good now but you never know. If you don't do it for yourself, do it for those that are depending on you. March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month.

Back from vacay.
Started to read the last 6 pages I'd missed out on...

Nah.
