DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Not the bears though (oh well). Tonight's news reported a robber jumped in a lake here to elude police and was eaten by an alligator. Sure you want to come down here Darcy?

We'll stay on high ground.

Morning Men,

Time for TBT

In honour of our upcoming cruise a picture from our first cruise in 2010.

Good morning all and happy Thursday. The oldest had a bracket drop off her tooth yesterday at school. So, I get to take her to orthodontist this AM and take a sick day for me. I could start that marathon training today, but I decides to watch Netflix all day instead. :lmao:

I'm trying to figure out some ADRs for our April trip. I want to try some new ones, but there aren't many of those left. We've never been to the one in England at Epcot, so I want to try that one. I also want to try Victoria & Albert's, but don't really want to drop all that $ on it.

Can't help you with V&A but the Rose N Crown is one of our favourite spots at WDW.

'Morning all...
Our young'en finishes up the fall semester this morning so he'll be headed home for the holidays either this afternoon of in the morning. So now instead of ignoring us from afar, he can hold up in his room and ignore us from a-near. Oh, to be young again.

Cool! Which ship and itinerary are y'all partaking of this time around?

Kind of like the original path for Kali River that went into the tiger enclosure; until Joe Rohde told them that tigers actually liked swimming. :rotfl:
Had never heard that story, but it's good that this occurred to them during design rather that during the grand opening.

Payin' more dollars to the orthodontist; not so good.
Time doing anything other than work; that counts as a bit if a win.

And... I'll second Darcy's opinion on the Rose and Crown.
That may well be one of the better meals I've had anywhere.
Cant help ya' on Vicky and Al's, though. Bit pricey for us even by Disney standards.
Let us know what you think if you try it, though. I'd like to hear you thoughts on it.

We get that at home now that DS is in high school, seldom leaves his room when he is at home.

We are sailing on the Carnival Glory out of Miami with stops in San Juan, St Thomas, Grand Turk and Amber Cove.

Yeah, I did that kind'a stuff when I was that age too, so I'm not surprised; makes his momma a bit nuts though.

Sounds like an interesting cruse; bit of a different set of ports for one sailing.
I'd be interested in hearing what you think of everything.
Especially Amber Cove, being as it's the shiny new port facility.

We were suppose to stop at Half Moon Cay but they changed it to Amber Cove, we were a bit disappointed in that change. We plan on staying in the port area at Amber Cove and checking that out.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Out of town on business today - took the red eye out this morning and get back home tomorrow afternoon. My Blackhawks are in town tonight and of course I am out of town! Family will be going though. Hey it's almost tomorrow though, have a good one guys.

Agree, we love Rose & Crown.

Yeah, but he is "home" and ya can't beat that. DD landed home this past Saturday so we have the whole crew home together - except for me today .........

Almost four hour layover in Toronto airport. Still... Better than the alternative that we almost had. Cancelled flight.

Morning Men,

off to a basketball tournament today, should be a good test for DS and his team this weekend.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

Happy Sunday. One more week to go until two weeks off. Unfortunately, I'm still stuck here in KY as opposed to Disney World. My consolation can be that I can avoid the high crowd levels. I'll just keep telling myself that. :lmao:

Booked some ADRs for the April trip.
Mon - Boathouse at Disney Springs
Tues - Rose N Crown at Epcot
Fri - Kona Café for dinner, followed by Wishes at TOTWL

We'll probably go with ESPN Club on Wednesday for dinner. I really liked the Boathouse menu and am looking forward to trying it.

Hope all had a good weekend. Hosted our annual Christmas party for friends last night so we did absolutely nothing today :rotfl:

Good spots we have similar tastes it appears. Let us know how Boathouse is as we are trying it for first time in June

2 and 2, good for 3rd place. They lost their first game, DS was player of the game and won their second to to finish second in their pool. They were much better than the team in the second game but it was tough to watch. They built a big lead and then decided to play playground ball.

Semi final was against the best team in the province and it showed in the first half, the team hit a ton of 3 pointers and all from the NBA line if not further out. They controlled the 3rd place game from the start so they finished on a positive note.
