DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Just saw on the news a volcano erupted in Indoesia. WT? I think God is out to kill me. Nowhere near where she is thankfuly.

Maybe her diving equipment was sacrificed to the volcano? Hang in there. Great pictures.

If Orlando wasn't even farther from the parents I would rather take myself there rather than bring it here. With the issues now with mom as well as dad I don't need to be further away.

It takes a special person to work third shift. I did it briefly right after we got married. Never could adjust to sleeping days and then when I had a day off I tried to sleep a normal schedule. I think the only thing worse than third shift is rotating shifts.
.

I did 3rd shift at UPS while going to UL. It was only 4-5 hours a night, but still messed with my sleep schedule. I was able to handle it, but I did get confused with AM or PM around 6. Of course, that was before cell phones were everywhere - you know, when there were dinosaurs on the earth.

Well, if you can't make a Mickey pumpkin here, could you grow pineapples in my back yard?

Good Morning Disney Friends! I'm back.

Today in Disney History:

1958:
Disneyland's ship Columbia is officially christened on the Rivers of America. Joe Fowler (Disneyland’s construction supervisor and a former naval admiral) is on hand dressed as a sailing captain of the 1700s, with the Mousketeers appearing as his crew! The attraction will officially open 10 days later.

I guess she has adapted well. Got a text this morning that she just did her first dive there and it was,"amazing."
Well, that seems to make it worth some of the hassle.

Not what you want to see on the news. Glad it is far from where she is.

She sent me a couple of pics
Beautiful. Tell her to keep them coming!

Morning all. Has Mike been around to post about the Hawks? I played tennis last night but made it home to watch third period.

'Morning all...
And may it be a good day for all.

Purr-yt.
Makes all that adapting more worth it for her.
Your nerves will continue to be racked across razors for the duration, but that's what we do for our young'ens.

I remember those dinos... they were everywhere back when i was in school.
I did full time third shifts and full time school back then too.
Woke up one morning driving toward a tree.
Decided one of those pursuits had to be cut back to part time.
Chose work over schooling (explains much, don't it).

Lovin' the history posts sir.

And...

:bday:

Party on!

Top O the Morning Dads and boy do my Hawks like to make it interesting / nerve racking........................ Not the greatest of games, but will definitely take the win.
Morning all. Two more days if school for dds. Today is talent show day. :furious:
So........ the girls will be doing something they inherited from Mom?
She sent me a couple of pics

Great pics, looks awesome. Keep posting what you can.

Here now. Crawford made some huge saves to keep them in the game. Tampa is a tough team but looking good for the Hawks if they were able to pull out a win after playing possibly their worse game of the entire playoffs last night.

That freshwater studies program in Milwaukee isn't looking too bad now, is it? The pics look beautiful. Keep sharing and we'll keep praying her luggage turns up.

Andy - sorry to hear about your coaching situation. Do you have practices at that level? If so, does she attend them? It makes it much easier to ask her to stay off the field if she doesn't attend practice.

We had practices for about a month before the games started. But since the games started at the end of April, we haven't been having practices. I mean they play 1 or 2 games each week and they're little kids. The attention span is gone by the time you do a little bit off hitting off a tee and field a few balls.

Anyway, yes, when we had practices she was there. And she has been "that" parent since day 1. It's just been getting a lot worse the past couple of games. :sad2:

She can teach her son all the intricacies of the game that she wants. But I have no intention of getting any more advanced with DS this year than we already are. I'd like to see him learn which balls are his to pursue in the field and when to stay home and cover a base. But that will come with game experience. And this is how I feel about a lot of the kids. There are only 3 on the team -the 6 year olds- who even have any business doing the things that "the coaches don't teach them." :sad2:

It was a good game. Yeah, the school frowns on beer drinking as a talent at age 13. :lmao:

Physical Therapy and Fried Chicken.

I'm sure your PT would prefer that order as well. Nobody wants to smell KFC farts
