DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Morning Guys,

Hoping for a better day today than yesterday. Our middle school volleyball team was upset in the semi-finals of our district championship, then I came home to watch the Habs lose to Tampa and to top it all of our dog passed on during the night. A bit of an emotional morning here, we're going to miss our Betsey.

Sorry to hear about the family dog. Hope it gets better tomorrow.

Tomorrow should be interesting.
Alarm set for 7am. Have to take Kay (DD14 into the orthodontist to get braces put on.
We'll see how that goes. Then I work a double shift starting at 2:45 that afternoon ending the next day at 7am.

More fun than one person could possibly stand!!!

'Morning all...
Things are starting to clear up a might so I might just be able to post once and a while.
We'll see how it goes.

Darcy, very sorry to hear about your pup.
Our critter is starting to have some aging issues and we'll need to face such losses in the near.
Never a good thing.

That sounds more like a Monday then a Thursday.

Thanks Guys.

Each of us had a moment this morning, DW went to let her out, DS calls his grandparents every morning as we leave to tell them if he's coming there after school and if the dog is in or out, without thinking the first words out of his mouth were "The dog is...". Mad him sad a bit.

It's tough Rob, pets become such a huge part of the family and when they die it certainly is a sad day.

Top O the Mornin Dads & happy Friday Eve!

Thanks Guys.

It's been about 6 six years and I still hear them barking when I pull into the garage.

Congrats on getting down to 3 months - just think only 30 days away from dining and FP+!
Oh dining was booked long ago, Already have June 24 marked for the FP+ selecting. DW and I are already trying to figure out what to go with. Last trip it was in the testing phase so I had no problems getting what I wanted, plus we were still able to get Legacy passes so we had a field day with that. We'll never see a trip like that again.

Pretty sure everyone will be good. This is a long weekend for us and we are travelling for volleyball and soccer so being away for a few days will help Declan get past it.

Funny isn't it. We've experienced that already.

I know to some people it does seem like a somewhat trivial thing but a pet can be a huge part of the family. For Declan, Betsey was part of his life for a good part of it. I was glad that he did get to say goodbye to her. We had another cat a few years ago that just disappeared one night, that was very hard for him and the rest of us to deal with.

I don't have the long shift, but we did braces with my dd13. Now, we started years ago with orthopedic expander, teeth pulling, and spacing bar. This year, we went to braces. $5K for braces. Maybe another $2K for all the rest of the stuff over the years. And that is all OOP. I could've have two or three more Disney vacations for that.

Luckily our insurance(s) cover most of it. She plays clarinet and sax in two different school bands so she was pretty worried.
When she got home, she started playing right away. Sounded pretty good to me.
Got home from the ortho around 11:00 - 11:30. Made lunch for Kay. Made supper for the fambly. Lay down for 45 minutes. Up and now I'm at work.

Friday! Usually doesn't mean anything, since my work cycle... cycles.
But I get the weekend off!
Only an hour and a half to go til I'm off work.... slightly tired right now.

Nobody brought donuts. Dang, almost hit the trifecta.

'Morning all...
It just occurred to me, I should be doing the single digit dance!

:dancer:

Still much to get done, but the time is starting to fly by now.

My but that's a lot of pain...
shared by everyone concerned.

Oddly, I'm also paying oop for braces right now, but not for my young'en.
Nope, there for DW (trying to solve some long term problems), and they make her miserable at times.
Had 'em myself (long, long ago) so I can empathize, but I can't do anything to fix it.
That... is frustrating.

Thanks Otter.

That was Eric Stratton.... He was damn glad to meet you.

Given your schedule, you ought to be tuckered.

Good that you're at least getting some help on the bucks for those braces.
I played the reeds back in my youth and also had all that wire-work at the same time.
I didn't really effect my playing much at all, I believe she'll adjust very quickly.

Woot! Get 'er done and enjoy the trip.

Pete from the Dis did a mini review of the Galatice Dine In breakfast. He seemed to like it but I don't know if I would spring $50 for it. Here is his take...
