DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Evening guys. Gotta agree that the games so far this weekend are a bit lame and the Cowboys are on their way to another potential choke. Good deal on the kids hoops results there Jim. Safe travels to the Dads headed to DaWorld for DDC3 and for a very enjoyable time & meet. Would love to be there but just can't make this time of year work with the day job. Keep everyone in line while down there Randall. Have a nice night all!

Bite your tongue!!

Bite your tongue!!

Huge 4th down conversion by Cowboys at 5:30 mark on drive to take the lead. Then they give back a fumble with 2:00 left that would have likely put the game away!? And the the kid that messed up the fumble makes the final sack To complete a great comeback. They had to give your nerves a workout today - congrats!

What is New Jerseys mayor doing in Jerry's box?

A bet that kid feels a lot better after making that sack.

That is the 3rd or 4th game in a row Christie has been in Jerry's box. Apparently he's a Cowboys fan because there are no good teams playing in Jersey. ;)

Two weeks sounds great. Can't imagine the pushback here for that.

Well it's like two years between trips, so might as well make it worth it Trip is almost three when you count the driving and brief stopover at Cocoa Beach. There will be a day at Kennedy Space Center for good measure. That being said, this will be the last huge trip for a while, will go back to shorter ones.

Going to grow it again in another month. My skin was so irritated from it being dry it broke out and was extremely uncomfortable.

Don't listen to Norm, he kept wanting to touch my beard at the Colts game

Oh he'll love mine then :scared:

So far no dry skin issues, just trying to keep it from getting unruly. What little hair I have grows thick and wild. Longest I have gone without shaving my head in a long time (makes the bald spot look acceptable if rest is gone). Don't know if the end is near or not, it was just a fun experiment that is growing on me.

Hi! I came across this thread and figured I should join seeing as I scored a near perfect score when looking at criteria to join!

I'm David from Northern Virginia and while my DW and I have both been to Disney several times in our single days we just brought our DD4 and DS2 to WDW for the first time and I need to go back ASAP.

Welcome !!

Gotta love those kids. I pretty much end up cleaning at least once a week after a coking event gone wrong.

Well that sounds...interesting, pretty hardcore actually :rotfl2:

Sounds like you got everything planned pretty well. We still have to make final decisions, but that 180 days is coming up fast. I think we are there the 20th -27th as it stands now at the YC.

Unless Free Dining pops up, it'll be our last go at the POP, after that I think we'll just have outgrown the room. If the offer comes into play, then We will take a stab at Riverside.

It was all planned out, but looking at some crowd calendar sites I discovered my plans were great...2 years ago, but the MK late EMH looks to be Saturdays now, and we want to do it at least once, plus some tweaking of other plans made me need to re-map it out. Plus a planned lunch at LTT is scrapped due to it closed for rehab, so needed to use a TS credit somewhere else (yes we use the dining plan, and love it). There are still two more wildcards to play out here. One will be whether or not there will be a Villan's event again, and with Labour Day weekend so late in September, any odds of an early MNSSHP happening then. If it does, we will shift the dates to fit it in, at worse, the girls would miss the first day of school. :confused3

Made chicken soup for lunch, with enough left over for dinner and lunch tomorrow. Yum!

It will be the newest of the value resort they built there - Cabana Bay? Whatever else has been set as Universal, Islands of Adventure, Sea World, Busch Garden, a day I'm not yet privy too (but a repeat of one of those four). I did check DVC availability and there were two days available at the VGF, which would be cool to try.

coking event? Now I know how you make all those WDW trips. Business must be good. :lmao:

Not drink beer fast enough? Really confused. :confused3 :lmao:

Cooked a spiral ham, mashed potatoes, fresh bread and some corn and candied carrots for dinner with DD. Leftovers for ham sandwiches tomorrow for lunch. The soup does sound good.

Still have not stayed at Universal. Would like to at some point.

You would understand if you were outside in -28 degree weather.

We are booked at YC with FD. I would guess it would be offered at some point, maybe not your specific dates.

The Villains party was OK. Too crowded, lines too long. You would only have time to meet one or two. They did have a lot of SW characters running around and a few others that we got to take pics with. We didn't make it to the fireworks as it was late and we were tired. We saw some from the car and heard they were pretty good. Would most likely not do it again unless there are some changes. Glad we did it once though and would do it if had not already experienced it. We did get a couple of signed/personalized sketches that will be hanging in the bar which is pretty cool. The artists were in the stores drawing during the party.

Will start our planning in the next couple of weeks.

I heard a lot about it being a logistical night mare, no enough merchandise, food etc and that they oversold the tickets. If they attempt it again, I'd hope they'd iron out the kinks. If not we more then enough planned out. :thumbsup2

What your self there! Who's the last team to win from the NFC East and what state are they from? What about the last super bowl winner from the NFC East before that team? OK, consider this argument settled :coffee:

Who? There are goods team playing in Jersey? I don't remember any.

Morning guys. The new year officially starts at work today with everyone back from vacation. I hope everyone has the best Monday possible.

Morning guys,

I just got home from work. There's no way I'd hear the alarm go off in an hour to get the kids ready for school so I'm staying up. Its been a real busy two weeks with the kids being home and putting in some OT at work. Over break Stretch built 15 of the 16 Lego sets he got for Christmas. Only one was more than he could handle and that was a 1000 piece monster meant for 9 and up. Peanut got more My Little Pony and doll stuff than she knows what to do with.

We've been looking into another surgeon for Stretch's ear. it seems like they recommend surgery for just about everyone they see. We might still go see them this summer but I'm not thrilled with someone so gung ho to do an operation.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a good start to the New Year. And any Lions fans, I feel your pain.

Morning guys. Hope everyone is off to a good start to the week. To the guys headed down for DDCC3, have a blast!

Morning Guys.

I managed to find the office this morning after a 2 week break. It still looks the same.

Morning guys. Back to a semblance of routine and normalcy hopefully. Kids back to school, including the walk to school in the freezing cold, something I didn't miss the past two weeks. Finally starting to feel like winter here. Have a good Monday everyone!

This office chair just doesn't feel as comfortable as the recliner that I was in yesterday.

DS goes back tomorrow but DW went back today for PD. They had to go to a different school though, a pipe broke in her school on New Year's day and caused quite a bit of damage, including most of the books in their library.

‘Morning all…
Y’all gotten use to writing 2015 on every document yet? It surprised me to realize that we’re just about halfway through another decade. Where has the time gone?

For those that are soon to be headed down or already at Da World for the DDCC… Enjoy the time.
Wanted to say something spiteful there, but I just can’t pull it off. You’re at Disney for Pete’s sake. Certainly wish I were tagging along, but that ain’t gonn’a be happening.

Hi Everyone,

My name is Joe or dadof2boys. I was reading a review by Andy and he had mentioned this forum. From what I can tell, I've found the most awesome support group.

I live in North San Diego with my wife and 2 sons, they're 5 and 7. I have NEVER been to "the world", which is not for lack of planning. I am constantly planning that trip. For the last year I have just been running different scenarios with different budgets for when the big day finally comes. We want to wait until the boys are old enough or brave enough to go on a majority of the rides.

We have been annual pass holders to DLR for 15 years. I think that because we have gone so often the boys are kind of over it, which is INSANE! My oldest one is all about the "resort" part of it. He'll stay at the Disneyland Hotel all day everyday, he just isn't that into the parks.

Our next Disneyland trip is scehduled for a one nighter on January 29th. That happens to be my youngests birthday. Anyhow, I've already said a lot. I look forward to getting to know all of you.

I’d like to offer both of you a laurel…
And hardy handshake

Welcome to the club. Just kick some of the empty beer cans and pizza boxes out of the way and pull up a chair. We’re glad to have ya’ join in.

This office chair just doesn't feel as comfortable as the recliner that I was in yesterday.

Exactly what I was thinking when I got into the office a bit before 6am this morning.
Ugghhhh….

On the upside it’s only three months before I’ll see another day off work.
…sigh…
