DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Hey guys. Hope all those celebrating had a great holiday. Successful one here. Got a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue as a gift, so life is good. :thumbsup2

Been checking the flights down to WDW for DDC3 weekend... They keep going down. If they keep it up, it might be enough to justify a 2/3 day trip, especially seeing how my marathon entry isn't transferable... I mean, it's possible I could be sick that Friday and have to miss work...

Pipedream, but I'm still holding onto it...

...

Never had Johnnie Blue. Tried red & black. I prefer bourbon.

I hope everyone is enjoying the post Christmas day. My goal today is to simply reduce my caloric intake to around 4,000 today! Aside from that, we have no plans. DW works from 2-9 but otherwise a laid back day.

That's me. I can hardly breathe with all the food & wine this weekend.

We then had IL's and DD boyfriend over for Christmas breakfast and gift exchange round 2. .

Now, dd's boyfriend is over for breakfast? My heart skipped a beat. I'll get there one day.

Congrats on surviving what probably seemed like your Christmas decathlon. My girls were so wound up Christmas eve that they completely shut down when we got home from the in-laws. They got DW and I up around 7:45.

Lots of fun watching them open and enjoy their gifts.

Thanks. Glad to have survived another. Like you said, the most fun is watching the children open their gifts.

No idea what that is... :lmao:

Why couldn't you transfer your registration?

It would be awesome if you could make it down.

It's not the Poly pool, that is still closed, but Jodi has offered to let you hang out with us at the AoA pool, which is pretty cool in it's own right.

Let me know what you think of the Blue.

Maybe my taste is not as defined, or distinguished, but I couldn't tell much different between Blue and Black. Definitely not enough to justify the price tag.

It's really UK against the rest of the country this year. The old joke is that a college team could never beat a pro team, because as bad as a pro team is (like the 76ers), they are all pro players. UK really has all pro players in two waves of players. They only lack the age, conditioning, & experience of playing 82 games a season. But, they are amazing to watch.

UL has a small chance, being a rival game and at Yum! Center, but it is only a small chance.

ESPN did a piece "If Not UL Then Who." I need UK to lose a conference game so they don't match Florida's undefeated SEC record set last year. Not sure where that is going to come from. UF is struggling this year, young, not as talented, and untimely injuries. Definitely rebuilding.

Good sports day today. Seton Hall is crushing Maine (SH has a decent team this year), Soon turning it to Cinci/VT for a bit, UK/UL, then Mia/S. Carolina. Going to be a nice afternoon. Bowl season is heating up.

Head down to DaWorld tomorrow - can't wait! Will do my best to post pics but most days are rope drop to fireworks.

Yea, he did morning presents with his mom and then came over to join us for breakfast with the IL's. I would rather have him around then hit and miss. We have known him for 4-5 years now and I do have have to give him his props as I told him and DD that they do not have to stand on their heads running all over during Christmas and his response was that he knows how much the Holidays mean so running back and forth is the least he can do.

Because i am a knucklehead, and I waited too long. It would have cost like $75 more to transfer by the time I thought to do it, and for that price I figured I'd just hang onto this years, and sign up for 2016 once I know I can make it...

Do they serve alcoholic drinks there? If so, I think it would do!:thumbsup2

I notice a huge difference between the two, personally. I've had Blue a few times before, and love it. I drink scotch a lot though, so the taste has developed over the years (and the liver has been beaten as though it was attacked by an unstoppable rebel force).

17 Hours without a post... this must be a record for this place!!!

Good morning, men.

Got some bad news last night. A guy I play basketball with is no longer with us. He was a year older than me, and a great guy, but had been working through some issues the past few years. He was a police officer and did some time in the Navy where his job was helping others get past their problems but he couldn't help himself. He told his wife he didn't love her anymore out of the blue about 6-8 months ago and left her and their 3 kids. The oldest is in second grade and those girls need some prayers.

Week 2 of holiday time. I helped DW drink all her wine. Not sure she was happy with me about that.

Prayers for the family. A sad story.

I can notice the taste in different bourbons, so I get that. Don't take nothing off them rebels".

.

Wasn't UL, and they played a great defensive game against UK to hold them to 60. UK played great defense as well. It will be difficult to stop them.

Yes, all the Christmases with DW before children were easier. Even better to hear that he's willing to put in the effort after 5 years. Bravo.

Afternoon all, checking in and catching up. Been a great holiday so far, Christmas Eve at my moms, Christmas dinner at my brothers and right now chilling out at the inlaws. Saw the third Hobbit last night, and enjoyed that. Best part is no work till Tuesday. Hope everyone else is enjoying their holidays, although judging by the posts that is well in hand.

Another 8-8 season. This is embarrassing, Philbin may have lost his job today.
