Merry Christmas to all and may your holiday find you happy healthy and free of domestic violence charges as a result of the family gathering.![]()
Roast beast and the rest of the meal was consumed. The turkey came out exceptionally well, nice and moist. We were invited to the neighbor's house for dessert but I am begging off. I have fought turkey's sleep inducing effects for a while now but think I am about to be overcome.
Did my trifecta (+1) of favorite Christmas movies. It's a Wonderful Life last night, The Christmas Story this morning and currently watching the original The Bishop's Wife now. Saw Christmas Vacation a couple of days ago.
Hope everyone had a great day.
Hey guys. Hope all those celebrating had a great holiday. Successful one here. Got a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue as a gift, so life is good.
Been checking the flights down to WDW for DDC3 weekend... They keep going down. If they keep it up, it might be enough to justify a 2/3 day trip, especially seeing how my marathon entry isn't transferable... I mean, it's possible I could be sick that Friday and have to miss work...
Pipedream, but I'm still holding onto it...
Head down to DaWorld tomorrow - can't wait! Will do my best to post pics but most days are rope drop to fireworks. .
Good morning, men.
Got some bad news last night. A guy I play basketball with is no longer with us. He was a year older than me, and a great guy, but had been working through some issues the past few years. He was a police officer and did some time in the Navy where his job was helping others get past their problems but he couldn't help himself. He told his wife he didn't love her anymore out of the blue about 6-8 months ago and left her and their 3 kids. The oldest is in second grade and those girls need some prayers.
Afternoon all, checking in and catching up. Been a great holiday so far, Christmas Eve at my moms, Christmas dinner at my brothers and right now chilling out at the inlaws. Saw the third Hobbit last night, and enjoyed that. Best part is no work till Tuesday. Hope everyone else is enjoying their holidays, although judging by the posts that is well in hand.
Another 8-8 season. This is embarrassing, Philbin may have lost his job today.
Morning guys. Back to work today for me. These four day weekends are nice!
I end up in that same position. That's probably why I am still working on my November TR!Head down to DaWorld tomorrow - can't wait! Will do my best to post pics but most days are rope drop to fireworks.
If he's good to DD and he respects you, that's a good thing right there. I look at young men and break into a cold sweat thinking about the day my daughters date. Sounds like your DD chose a good one.Yea, he did morning presents with his mom and then came over to join us for breakfast with the IL's. I would rather have him around then hit and miss. We have known him for 4-5 years now and I do have have to give him his props as I told him and DD that they do not have to stand on their heads running all over during Christmas and his response was that he knows how much the Holidays mean so running back and forth is the least he can do.

‘Morning all…
Being back in the office is just a mite oppressive. Short week though, so there is that.
Of course, then I get to have the same sense of oppression next Monday…
With no holidays of any kind to break things up from that point on until April…
Sigh…
Do wish our national calendar spread things out a bit better. The November/December time frame is somewhat tough on all of those that have to find themselves fighting the dark clouds.
Wow, wasn’t that just a bright ray of sunshine?
Sorry ‘bout that, but I figure this really is the only place I have that’s safe when it comes to venting.
And it does help...
Christmas dinner #3 is in the books. I made our turkey, stuffed it and covered the breasts in bacon, this keeps them nice and moist. Smashed potatoes, stuffing, steamed broccoli and cauliflower served with a homemade cheeses sauce, oven roasted sweet potatoes, perogies and homemade gravy. Quite a feast for 4 of us. We definitely have left overs.
My couch is calling... Time to watch some tv or have the tv watch me, whichever happens, I'm good with
No... not at all. The party was sad.... worst job of the entire year for me. My other Christmas parties were really good. I'd rather be DJing a wedding though.![]()
Rodgers is on a cart on his way to the locker room. Someone check on Barry to see if he is alright.
We used to do that with my aunt for Easter. It started off being my Aunt's family with my Uncle's family. Then my Cousin got married and her husband's family joined. It eventually got to the point where it was a huge gathering and you didn't know half the people there. We were in my cousin's house one year when someone walked through the kitchen. My mom asked her who it was and she didn't even know. I think that was the last year this type of Easter gathering took place.Hope everyone had a great Christmas/Hanukkah/Festivus/whatever you feel like celebrating. We had a nice time at my sister's place. Her husband's family was there as well, so it was a little strange, but all in all it was a good time.
What part of Tennessee?Only two days in the office for me this week, then Tuesday night we head south. Not Florida south, unfortunately, but half way there. We decided to head south while DW's parents head north, and meet in the middle in Tennessee for New Year's/2nd Christmas.

Coming through Indy late Tuesday and spending the night. Then hitting Louisville and Mammoth Cave on the 31st on the way down to Chattanooga for meeting up with the Inlaws that night and the 1st. Then (if the weather cooperates on the 2nd) we'll swing down the the Marshall Space Flight center in Huntsville, Alabama on the way to Nashville for the night. Then back home on the 3rd. Looking at hitting Indy again around dinner time and trying to meet up with Duck and all of his ducklings for a bite to eat. What part of Tennessee?
Enjoy not having to be at work on a Monday! I have today and tomorrow and then taking the rest of the week as I did last week. I think working 2 days a week and having the next 5 off should be a permanent adjustment to the work schedule. Of course I still want the get paid the same amount though.
It wasn't that bad - it was just his mom, 2 brothers and a sister.

Morning...one last day off in my break before the realities of work return. At least it's a short week with New Years off. One last busy spurt Wednesday before things slow right down too. Heading home from the in laws today too later on. No real rush which is nice. We got a WiiU for Christmas as a family gift and it'd be nice to hook it up.
Agreed. Next extra time off is New Years Day then Family Day mid February. I will enjoy not working today be virtue that I don't have to deal with the beer load coming in today or finish any clean up from Christmas. Ha ha.
By the by I tried to text you over the break and it failed. I'll have to figure out what went wrong.

Thanks! We did a two week driving trip in August, so we're pretty confident in our planning for this. We've been through Tennessee 4 times (out and back on two drives to WDW), but have never seen it since we always hit it in the middle of the night. I'm curious to see what it actually looks like!Wow. That's a lot of driving, but you should get to see a lot of cool stuff. Have a great time!![]()
Don't think I haven't considered it!Have a safe trip Barry! I still think you should keep going until you get to WDW, just sayin.![]()
