DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
:scratching Maybe it's all those extra U's.:rotfl2::rotfl2: I was getting text's pretty regularly, not sure it is on my end. I'll send you one in a few minutes. Let me know if you get it.

All good. I think the networks were wonky Christmas Day. Yeah that's the ticket.

Hey CJ,

While I didn't see the game, the reports are that Mike Wallace "quit" yesterday. Link:

Now is that any way to treat others in this time of year when forgiveness is expected? If it makes you feel any better, Sexy Rexy got canned already so at least you still have a coach........for now.:lmao::lmao:

Looks like it's 4 so far. Jets, Bears, 49ers and Falcons from what I have seen. We'll see how many by the end, I say at least 7.

Just read that Kyle Orton retired from the Bills as well so it looks like it will be between the Pats and Dolphins for the next few years as the other two &^%$ups start over again. Any wonder why the Patriots can pretty much win the division just by showing up.:beach:

So this past Saturday the wife and I were working on a couple of bookcases in the family room. One of them had the shelves falling down because the little brass pegs had deformed the holes in the wood. Too much weight, I guess. Anywho, as we were emptying the units we came across a portfolio that had in it just about every piece of paper from our first WDW trip in Nov of 1996. Among the valuables were pristine brochures from all the parks, tickets to a Orlando Magic/Charlotte Hornets game (nose bleed seats and we had a blast up there with a bunch of local Magic fans). There was also a napkin from the Blazing Pianos bar we went to one night. Not the least of which was also a note book the wife was keeping a log in of each days activities which she proceeded to read outloud page by page until i had to excuse myself for a run to Lowes. I'll have to see if i can scan some images and post them here. 20 trips later and it still hasn't lost the magic.

Coming through Indy late Tuesday and spending the night. Then hitting Louisville and Mammoth Cave on the 31st on the way down to Chattanooga for meeting up with the Inlaws that night and the 1st. Then (if the weather cooperates on the 2nd) we'll swing down the the Marshall Space Flight center in Huntsville, Alabama on the way to Nashville for the night. Then back home on the 3rd. Looking at hitting Indy again around dinner time and trying to meet up with Duck and all of his ducklings for a bite to eat.

BOURBON BAR! BOURBON BAR! BOURBON BAR!

Mammoth cave is pretty cool as an alternative though.

Sports talk exploded down here today. Not sure he will be on the team next year. Didn't matter if he played or not, he would have dropped the pass anyway.

Horse -- Dead! Stopped beating it.

Going to be an interesting off season. Owner will spend money, the front office is more competent than in the past but they don't have a lot of cap space. This 8-8 stuff is getting old but not sure if it is going to improve. Philbin may or may not be gone. In his defense, he was saddled with crappy drafts the last few years.

Wallace is a bit of a head case. As are MANY pro athletes. I find that many fans are also very uneducated and go with the wind. In Pittsburgh, our front office was chided for not signing Wallace but signing Antonio Brown. They also called for Bruce Arians head as the OC, then they wanted Todd Haley out and Bruce Arians brought back. The jury changes weekly on Mike Tomlin.

Sitting in the stands with these people is the most annoying thing. Our fan base is very passionate but dear Lord do they lack knowledge of front office details, draft prospects, the salary cap and the NFL rule book. :sad2:

Just sitting around the FIL's before we do the drive back home. At least the drive will be eventful as I have my planner notebook and I need to change a planned ADR as I see Liberty Tree will be closed during our trip.

Cool find! I found some of our initial trip stuff a couple of months ago which has me needing to look for the old camcorder. I'm sure there is a tape with it with footage I shot in 2003 walking around MK.

Evening all, hope you all had a nice day. Nice family day here with a little bowling and a movie. DS received the Austin Power trilogy for Christmas so today's viewing was the Spy Who Shagged Me.

Tonight will be a couple of Mill Street Organic Lagers and Canada vs Finland.

Evening all. Seems like our city is shutting down with the flu. Local nursing homes and hospital have restrictions on visitors. DW is sick but being treated by her asthma doctor. Wait time today at urgent care centers/ pediatrician offices was 2 hours.

.

I want to try LTT for lunch and the a la carte menu.

We get Presidents Day in February. Only 1 day, but at least it's a holiday over the large stretch of months without time off. Will most likely be taking a few days in February as well. No Mexico trip as originally planned, but a few quiet days at home never hurt anyone.
.

That is one of the few months I don't have any holiday leave. But, I can take a few vacation days.

Just wishing everyone a Happy Monday! May those who are traveling this week to the DDCC be safe and enjoy your travels. Yes Even you Randall

:thumbsup2

Have a great trip. We won't be able to make it up to see you in Louisville as older has swim and a church youth group thing. Maybe one of these times.

I'm available. I only need one season of that NFL coach money and I could retire.

BOURBON BAR! BOURBON BAR! BOURBON BAR!
.

Louisville has a new bourbon bar on the bourbon trail, but it doesn't look as good as my local bourbon bar. Louisville also has a chocolate bar, that serves everything chocolate. I plan to try both one day.

Morning guys. Slow week at the office so I'm working from home. Looks like Captain Comeback is heading back to Michigan. Those rivalry games with Ohio St. will be interesting!

'Morning all...
Another slow morning in the office. I'd use up some of the excess vacation time this afternoon, but my supervisor isn't here to ask :headache:

May do it anyway and then just ask forgiveness later on.

Pup is going in for surgery this morning. Decided to have them cut out the cancer on her lip and see what happens after that. Her face is going to be quite different though.

Prayers for the little pup. Hope she can make a good recovery!

Packed away all of the Christmas decorations at home this past weekend (had to take advantage of the upper 40's weather when we had it to take down all of the outside stuff) and just packed up all of my office decor. Now it's just boring and sad and grey until spring. :sad2:

Good Afternoon Men! Just doing my daily check in. Heading out soon to see DS play hoop. He has been sick with a cold and plans to give it a go. I told DW to provide plenty of Pharmaceuticals prior to getting on the bus.:thumbsup2

Good idea to start lining them up now. I'll use the day off on Thursday to sit down and take a look.

And you don't even have to be good at it based on what I am seeing.:lmao::lmao:

Working from home sounds like a good idea. Any plans to take the kids to see a New Years event? I suspect that would be a pretty new and exciting experience. We were thinking about it, but it is looking like a COOLLLLDDD night so we'll probably just get together with a few close friends and catch up.

You have my permission. CEO here took the week off at the last minute. Then I decided I was taking Wed/Fri off as well.:laughing:

Prayers and pixie dust coming your way for her. I hope everything goes well.

Packed our Disney tree from the basement last night. Will probably do the last of it the next few days. I need to get some storage containers as DW bought a lot of new decorations this year. It's not good that we have a Pier 1 and Home Goods close by.:mad:

....I forgot to mention. There is a pretty good chance that we will be submitting an offer on a DVC resale contract for Saratoga Springs tonight. Not sure if they'll accept or not, but the fact that I could have permission in general is a huge step. I'll keep everyone updated as things happen. Still looking at some others as well.

It would allow us to have at least a trip every two years, maybe annually if we plan it right. Best thing is that it could have enough points that we would be able to use it in August 2015, making it more likely we would take a trip.:thumbsup2

I think our only shot at DVC is to inherit DW's parents contract.
