DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Morning guys,

France is a funny team. I was at the match they lost to Colombia and they didn't look that good. Although they did seem to play a bit on the cocky side and maybe they felt they could score whenever they wanted. The two matches since then, they have came out hard from the start.

I still think the US is the team to beat and I don't put much stock in some of the Fox analysts.

You are right about France, hard team to figure out. Let's hope the U.S. can take China with two starters sitting in the stands. They do have a deep bench though. Agree with your take on the analysts but one thing someone mentioned was using three forwards, which might be a good idea.

No and No Pictures Please!

Second!

Hi guys. I need ideas from a father's unique perspective.

My family is heading to Disney World in 20 days and I'm looking for a few fun things to do with my older boys (19 and 15). I'm hoping to keep it a "father and sons" thing and give my wife some alone time on our 10 day trip. Whether it's free, or not free, doesn't matter.

Thanks!

Pole fishing at PO Riverside. Not all that exciting but it is something many people forget about.

Afternoon, guys - is it July 10 yet? Day job restructure stuff is just wiping me out.

Fishing excursions if you like that - go out in boats that take you though some of the behind the scenes areas. We fished in Worldshowcase in the morning before park opened

Golf - Disney courses are real nice and not overly priced
Send wife to a spa treatment and just hang at the resort pool
Hit Boardwalk for a guys night out at ESPN Zone for dinner

Are you mobile? A visit to Kennedy Space Center. Or Gatorland Zoo.

Sorry for the late picture. Phone died around 5:00 PM at the park. Maybe it is time for a new phone.

We went to Sea World today, and we both really enjoyed the park. We ended up walking it twice as there really was no plan. We met up at times, but the families went their own way. I thought the Manta may have been the best coaster ever. I didn't get to ride Kracken as it went down while we were in line and didn't return. We did the Dolphin, Sea Lion, and Killer Whale shows. They were all great. Both dds were able to feed Rays and oldest dd was able to touch a dolphin a few times. The dolphin interaction and under water viewing were excellent. We did the Wild Artic simulator as were leaving, which needed a refurb, but then the close up time with beluga whale and seals was terrific.

We ended up leaving the park around 6 as a thunderstorm rolled in. We missed the penguin exhibit with the wait time over an hour. I definitely could have lasted all day with a day's rest before. All the inlaws left way before us. DW and I both like zoos and aquariums and probably will return to this park.

Geez. I'm trying to sleep and you guys keep yelling!

G'afternoon all...
My but it's hot... On the up side, we got our first rain in a month last night.
on the down side, now I have to mow the grass... in that heat... yuck...

Oh but I got my auto problems straightened out for a sum total of zero dollars.
So on the whole, it's all good.

You've already gotten a lot of good suggestions, but you could also consider something like Disney Quest, or one of the mini-golf courses at Wintersummer Land or Fantasia Gardens. There's an actual putting-greens course at Fantasia as well as the more traditional goofy-golf course, which might be a good challenge.

Where am I?

Waiting for Mickey at MK. It is a magical day!!!!!!

Good to see that y'all were able to get in a bit of Disney on this trip.
Better that you were able to find a bit more balance in the family trip as well.
