You guys disappoint me. :( I was surprised to see this wasn't already posted...

That's a Disdad? Its amazing what they can do these days, I tell ya...

Morning all, it's a lovely -9F here. Went to the doctor yesterday for the a follow up to my tibial plateau fracture and the doctor said that I am fully healed. 6 months from the injury and the doctor said it was one of the worse fractures he had seen.
Good news jt, that must be a relief!
:thumbsup2

Top O the Mornin Dads! Staying home today to help out with in-laws musical chairs. MIL is planned to be sent home today as her surgery went well, she has to walk 50 ft on her own to head home though so we will see but she is a tough ole lady. FIL not as good as he is scheduled to be transferred to long care health facility with rehab. It’s a good place and close to us so could be worse but not sure he’s gonna make it back home.

Everyone stay safe with this Elsa weather. Ain’t what up north is dealing with but it’s snowing and sticking here this morning with single digits for tonight. C’mon man this is Nashville!

Hope everything goes well, including the snowstorm cleanup.

-12C and snowing? That's called Tuesday around here.
I joke, but like I've said before, I know you guys just aren't used to it and don't have the equipment we have here to deal with all that.
Do you get to enjoy a day off?

They really are a bunch of wusses. ;)

Sorry, we'll try and do better the next time. Thanks for picking up the slack.

Seriously, people are getting soft. I am too, but that's from beer, pop tarts, and a lack of exercise. My constitution is fine.

:rotfl2::rotfl2: So say we all!

I don't like smothered sauces either. You just keep it on the side of your plate and dab a bit on when you feel like it.

Same here with the sauce. I like the flavor of the steak. Funniest thing I ever saw has at Shulas steakhouse when someone dropped $50 on a steak and asked the waiter for A1. I think the waiter thought he was being punked.

Seriously. Bring out the ketchup instead! :duck:

Just kidding. I do like a good marinade, though.

Stay warm. Would love to have y'all come visit to escape the cold.

If only.

Went to the doctor yesterday for the a follow up to my tibial plateau fracture and the doctor said that I am fully healed.

Glad to hear it!

Fantastic!

Good on ya mate.
Happy for you.

Morning Guys.

Nice quiet morning here and that is just what the doctor ordered. It's been a busy week and yesterday was the culmination of that. Started the day with a board meeting that lasted until the middle of the afternoon; it was a productive one so that was good. Finished the day attending two of the Mike Fitz Memorial Basketball games.

For those who may be interested, Mike Fitzgerald was a student and an athlete that had attended both of the high schools in Fredericton. At the age of 16 he was diagnosed with a brain tumour and passed away shortly after that. He was a member of the Leo Hayes basketball team when it happened. Leo Hayes is the school that Declan attends. I'm a little hazy on if he was still alive when the team decided to organize a game for him or not but this year was the 11th year for these games. Mike's parents have been very involved on organizing these games over the years and had decided that this was going to be the final year. Mike wore number 11 and the games were being played back where they started at Leo Hayes. The day consists of 4 games, JV girls, JV boys, Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys. They charge 5 dollars for the day to get in and sell a bit of swag. Over the 11 years they have been able to raise enough money to endow a scholarship fund that awards scholarships to each of the two schools.

Last night was extra special for us. It was the 4th year that Declan was getting to be a part of this event and knowing it was the last one made it bigger. It also may be the last time we see him play in that gym as their home games are finished and they will need a big win on Tuesday to get the opportunity to host Regionals. The game was amazing and while both teams fought hard over the 40 minutes our boys pulled out an 84-72 win in front of a packed house of 1200 screaming fans.

Icing on the cake for me was seeing them win this game in their last year and having Declan get the chance to hold the plaque that is awarded to the winning team. The topping for me though is that each school gives and award in Mike's name each year and Declan won this award in his grade 10 season.

Sorry for going on but as you can probably tell I am an extremely proud dad right now.

Congrats

I'm a slow, mystery reveal that's worth the wait.
Well you are half right

I'm with ya, not a fan of steak sauces I don't like ruining a good steak flavor.
Yup, if it's done right you shouldn't add anything

The US customs allows you to bring it in checked luggage.I claimed it going through US customs and all was ok there.
Yeah, but they have been at work for a month with no paycheck. They checked it grabbed your bag and called it a day. Lol

Thanks again for the positive thoughts and support.

Enjoying Bournemouth vs Chelsea and trying to figure out the new phone. I picked a good day to start.

Schools are open here, but when the windchill drops below -45 (it's -48 right now) they do cancel the busses.

See, it's that type of brilliance Americans can't figure out. How could you have school without sending out the bus? I mean, no one here drives to work in their own vehicle.

Darcy already said this, but I agree....better than apple.
As with anything, there are pros and cons to everything
Android
Pros - can transfer files with ANY computer and via SD card
Cheaper
Better (I think) background app management
Upgrading OS doesn't almost guarantee your device will be dog slow

Cons - not as consistent interface. Different versions and different phone manufacturers have settings or buttons in different places.

Both -
Can do things without the express written approval of apple. In other words, the app doesn't have to have Apple's blessing to work. The reason this is both, it gives you much more flexibility, but more risk associated with it.

For apple, pretty much reverse the pros and cons above.

I have enjoyed the transition and ease with SD card. Sadly, I'm just an old dog that didn't want to learn new tricks.

The girls and I stayed home. Oldest had the teenage jitters and had to go shopping with friends at Target. We could be prepared, but we choose not.

It was about the same time for my knees, although they didn't heal, but hurt less enough to resume activities. Glad to hear all is well.

Hope everything goes well, including the snowstorm cleanup.

They really are a bunch of wusses. ;)

So, Al Roker, weatherman on NBC, called our Governor an idiot for his comments. Which prompted some citizens to make phone calls in support of our Governor. Welcome to KY where we are willing to support tax cuts for the wealthy & tax increases for everyone else as long as a black person is involved. :scared1::sad2::furious:

Just kidding. I do like a good marinade, though.
!

Agreed. A good marinade enhances the flavor without covering it up.

Well you are half right
Lol

Which half?

Haven't read. So prayers/pixie dust/congrats as needed.

I am not having a good day. Good news is the car is still drivable and no one was hurt.

Morning all. 9 degrees and snow on the ground. Every school system including Universities closed. Governor Thanos calls kids "soft" for not going to school. We just turn everything into a political issue now.

Kids are soft. Get off my lawn!

That has nothing to do with cancelling school though. Majority of kids over here don't own a winter coat, boots or gloves and given some are on a bus for more than an hour one way it isn't safe if the bus breaks down.
