Love the double facepalm!

Hope our upstate ny guys are doing ok!

Just checking on briefly from work. Gotta give a speech on scouting tonight at a big fancy dinner honoring scouts who are receiving scholarships. I nominated an awesome kid. Not the kind who will be captain of the football team or president of his class, but someone you know will be an all around good guy. So glad they picked him! Nice of them to spring a speech on me last night for a dinner tonight. Oh well.... It'll be fine. Stay warm guys!

They are saying this Buffalo Storm is the biggest snowfall on record, anywhere, ever!

We are on the other side of the lake and got a mere dusting.

But it's frigid and cold... that's right, it's cold... so don't judge ;)

I wasn't going to say it... but he makes a valid point. :headache:

In this part of the world, the snowy side would be the US.

Actually during the storms yesterday we had blue skies, albeit freezing as heck. Up until an hour or so ago there was barely any snow, maybe 50% coverage, so of course, it's started again, supposed to be only a couple of centimeters.
Brian, are you far enough south to escape the Barrie/Orillia snowbelt?

Yup... we are in Oak Ridges... about an hour South of Barrie.

It's a Lake Effect snow band. It's because the lake is open water right now and not frozen over yet. Happens early in the season. Until the lake freezes over, any kind of system that sets up with a westerly wind grabs that moisture and dumps it on the first bit of land it can find.

My DW's Uncle lives in Dunkirk, NY and is right in the heart of this crap. 6 foot and more to come.

They will have their total winter snow fall total in this week alone and winter hasn't even started.

Growing up in Syracuse, we would get lots of lake effect snow. So glad my mother put a gun to my father and said, "WE ARE MOVING SOUTH!"

Congrats on the selection of your nominee. You got this speech.

I know you guys are going to laugh but it is cold down here. I found after my little hospital stay that my tolerance for cold is non existent. It was in the 40's last night and barely got into the 50's today. Walking around in sweats and long sleeve shirt. Totally can't stand being cold anymore.

The family idiot, who happens to be my brother, is getting creamed up there right now. He says it is going to be a while until they are able to dig out. He also said he has plenty of beer in the fridge.

I'll drive down and bring a shovel... depending on just how much beer there really is... ;)

Doesn't sound like much of an idiot to me! :drinking1

Glad where I am on Lake Ontario doesn't have the same effect.

You can have beer in the fridge and not live in Buffalo. So yea, I think he is an idiot.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: It's funny 'cause it's true

Another double digit loss at basketball tonite. Looks like the teams really got stacked this year. I hate that dd's team will lose every game this season, and the lesson that teaches her that she is not from a well off enough family to get put on a competitive team.

Usually, I wouldbe against violence. But, I wish my mom had done the same thing. It is way too cold here.

Says the guy who lost his credit card somewhere between a bar and ballpark that are 100 yards away from each-other...:confused3

Lost? Or stolen by the Biergarten Bandit? :lmao:

I always say the world would be a much better place if you didn't have to deal with other people. :sad2:
.

I like dealing with some people. Just not the stupid ones.

I’d be saving those pictures and links to the posts just for good measure,
.

The lawyer has them and both have already been deposed. Her attorney seems slow to move it for a trial date.

I’ll be nice and toasty in my den that morning.
We can’t make the trip this time around. :sad1:
As for the boy… he’ll be fairly busy that morning so I ain’t worried.
.

Well, glad to hear that you will be warm. Wish him a safe trip.

Haven't been on the boards for a few days and it feels like a month! I went back and skimmed through the posts. It's nice to see a few of the crafty veterans popping back in to say hello.

Life is back to pure chaos as usual. Youngest just did her basketball evaluation. Next they will draft kids based on those assessments. It's a Church run league and multiple friends speak highly of it. I am looking forward to that.

I'm still working on my TR and it's not going nearly as fast as I'd hoped. I can't get to my photos from work so I'm not getting as much done during my lunch hour as I was hoping. I guess I have to devote my personal time to it *jeesh*

Steelers have a bye this week so the fam and I are heading to see Big Hero 6! I'm pretty excited for that. I alos got a digital copy of Guardians of the Galaxy, so I'll have some Disney movies to tide me over.

Post trip depression is still very real. I am finding ways to keep it at bay though. Just ordered my daughter a book called, "The Beast Within; the story of Beauty's Beast" It'll be a stocking stuffer for her. She saw it when we were at Bonjour! in New Fantasyland in MK and commented on it. It'll be a nice surprise.

I've also been looking up Vinylmation figures for my youngest. She got hooked on the last trip. She's focused on Star Wars and Indiana Jones figures.

Hope the week is going well for everyone and there's no shortage of bacon. Prayers for those in need!:goodvibes

Good morning fellas!

Got the chance to have dinner with the long-lost Stopher last night, as he was on the east coast and made time to come visit. Great to see him, and fitting since this was Blast From The Past Week at the DIS Dads Club.:thumbsup2
