Wonder what would happen if he came to a complete stop then slammed down on the accelerator. :moped:

I always prefer the method of backing up as fast as you can and slamming on the brakes. No better way to empty the bed of a pickup truck. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

Another double digit loss at basketball tonite. Looks like the teams really got stacked this year. I hate that dd's team will lose every game this season, and the lesson that teaches her that she is not from a well off enough family to get put on a competitive team.
DS has his first basketball game on Saturday. It was pretty close, but we just couldn't get any shots to fall, whereas it seemed like everything the other team tossed up went in. And, despite our working on it and stressing it in practice, the ref wasn't calling double dribble. So the other team would pick up their dribble then start up again at will, whereas we stopped drippling and looked for a pass or a shot. Hard to tell the kids to ignore everything we taught them in practice.

Life is back to pure chaos as usual. Youngest just did her basketball evaluation. Next they will draft kids based on those assessments. It's a Church run league and multiple friends speak highly of it. I am looking forward to that.
I don't know. I'm pretty sure Andy plays either basketball or softball in a church league, and they play pretty dirty.

I'm sure she has the brake set. Or break, depending on how you want to use it.

Good morning fellas!

Got the chance to have dinner with the long-lost Stopher last night, as he was on the east coast and made time to come visit. Great to see him, and fitting since this was Blast From The Past Week at the DIS Dads Club.:thumbsup2

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

::yes:: Both. And the Frozen Monkey speaks the truth. Our pastor is the dirtiest player of all. Some people won't play basketball when he's on the floor. I just choose to step up my cheap shot game accordingly. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Top O the morning Dads! Been a few days, so gonna try to get caught up here today. Great to see some of the longer standing members who welcomed me to this little group stop by again. Not in a good place with the job these days but getting back here should help the disposition :thumbsup2

That should work too. :thumbsup2

Listen, you are doing the right thing. Hopefully as the season progresses, the refs will get a little tougher when it comes to calling those type of infractions.

Have you shown your pastor the lighted ummmmm... 'candle' pic on Facebook yet? Tell him if it doesn't watch out, you'll hit him there and he won't be singing Fa la la la la, la la la la

Hi dads.. My name is Andy, and I will be going to m 1st trip to the "Most Magicalest Place On Earth" (as my daughter called it) in just a few days. Are there any dads who will be there between Nov 20-27. Would love to get a chance to meet you and make some new friends
Sorry for the delay in welcoming you to our little clam bake

Sounds like the voice of experience. ::yes::

I think your only recourse is to start tackling the other team's players.:thumbsup2

What's your go-to cheap shot move?

My arms are too long to use the discrete elbow or anything like that. I've got a good 6" and 50 pounds on him, so I just use the "oops, didn't see you there, sorry" technique or if you want to put a simpler name on it, we'll call it the bulldozer.

It sounds like its up to each ref's discretion as he tries to get a read on the kid's skill/competency level. The head coach (I'm assisting this year) and I plan to speak to the refs before the game and stress that we want the fundamentals to be called.

Evan specializes in pushing people in front of busses. I'm sure I can work with him on that, though.

What's your go-to cheap shot move?
He calls it "exorcism." It's when he turns his eyes red, starts spitting blood, speaking in tongue, drawing pentagrams on the floor, then pantsing the opposing player while throwing a bucket of confetti on him. He picked up in a Satan vs. The Harlem Globetrotters basketball game back in '89.

A friend of mine coaches 8-9 yrs girls basketball. I went to a few games last year. The refs were more apt not to call traveling/ double dribbles at the beginning of the season. As the year went on, they called it a lot more. Maybe that is what you are going to deal with. :confused3

Just got back from WDW, and decided I needed to join this group (if I may allowed to do so).

Realized I had no business getting upset with my wife (non Disney person), when she did not meet me in front of the Bakery, because she assumed I would know that she really meant the Confectionery. Not the BAKERY.

It was a quite ride home when she saw the eye roll.

Thanks!

I've been visiting the Mouse since my parents first brought me at 6 months old. Went every year until I was a Freshman in HS, then skipped a few years here and there. I think my total visit count is in the 30s.....at 39 years old.

My wife did not get the Disney love, until I took her there on our first trip as a dating couple. It was during F&W. She was hooked, although still can't find the Bakery.....

I'm an avid model railroader and belong to this group: http://www.modutrak.com/

I also play the drums and manage a three piece "rock" band locally.

Epcot is still my favorite park, as I went three weeks after opening in 82, as an eight year old. It was awe inspiring....

Good to catch up and see all are doing well. Sorry about the basketball stuff there guys.

Wow did you see all that snow they are getting in Buffalo NY:crazy2:
From what I'm understanding from the news it is called Lake effect snow
Prayers to all those who live in that area
Chicago can get the lake effect snow pretty bas as well but nothing like this current Buffalo mess. Second prayers to those dealing with this - even CJ's brother

:lmao::lmao::lmao:
Point ..........
You can have beer in the fridge and not live in Buffalo. So yea, I think he is an idiot.
Counter point ...............
Says the guy who lost his credit card somewhere between a bar and ballpark that are 100 yards away from each-other...:confused3
Ouch :rotfl:

I'll give your wife a pass on the Bakery. Ever since they turned it into a Starbucks, it's been dead to me.

Second - I was poking around on your model train site and found your article on the Caledonia Modules. I cross that piece of track that you built twice a day on my way to and from work. (Everybody sing along now!) - it's a small world, after all. It's a small world after all!

Looks like you guys do some very nice work!:thumbsup2

Lost? Or stolen by the Biergarten Bandit? :lmao:

Shhhhhh.....

;)

J'accuse!

I may have to mention that to the shiv packing, Pirate Princess. I forgot, are you running the Marathon?

Hope you chastised him for his change in career choice. Must really be tough to go on all these company sponsored "get to know us," travel agent junkets.

Before I was older than dirt, I played in a Catholic league. Our playing style was modeled after the old Big East days. No blood no foul. If there was blood, maybe a foul.

Welcome. As Randall mentioned, you will fit in well here.

One of our "members" lives and teaches in Racine.

I will not sing that song.....my kids made me ride four times in two days!
