Judging from the past few days, which side is which?
In this part of the world, the snowy side would be the US.

I wasn't going to say it... but he makes a valid point.![]()

They are saying this Buffalo Storm is the biggest snowfall on record, anywhere, ever!
We are on the other side of the lake and got a mere dusting.
But it's frigid and cold... that's right, it's cold... so don't judge![]()
Actually during the storms yesterday we had blue skies, albeit freezing as heck. Up until an hour or so ago there was barely any snow, maybe 50% coverage, so of course, it's started again, supposed to be only a couple of centimeters.
Brian, are you far enough south to escape the Barrie/Orillia snowbelt?
It's a Lake Effect snow band. It's because the lake is open water right now and not frozen over yet. Happens early in the season. Until the lake freezes over, any kind of system that sets up with a westerly wind grabs that moisture and dumps it on the first bit of land it can find.
My DW's Uncle lives in Dunkirk, NY and is right in the heart of this crap. 6 foot and more to come.
They will have their total winter snow fall total in this week alone and winter hasn't even started.

Love the double facepalm!
Hope our upstate ny guys are doing ok!
Just checking on briefly from work. Gotta give a speech on scouting tonight at a big fancy dinner honoring scouts who are receiving scholarships. I nominated an awesome kid. Not the kind who will be captain of the football team or president of his class, but someone you know will be an all around good guy. So glad they picked him! Nice of them to spring a speech on me last night for a dinner tonight. Oh well.... It'll be fine. Stay warm guys!

The family idiot, who happens to be my brother, is getting creamed up there right now. He says it is going to be a while until they are able to dig out. He also said he has plenty of beer in the fridge.

I'll drive down and bring a shovel... depending on just how much beer there really is...![]()
Doesn't sound like much of an idiot to me!![]()
You can have beer in the fridge and not live in Buffalo. So yea, I think he is an idiot.
Growing up in Syracuse, we would get lots of lake effect snow. So glad my mother put a gun to my father and said, "WE ARE MOVING SOUTH!"

I always say the world would be a much better place if you didn't have to deal with other people.

Got the chance to have dinner with the long-lost Stopher last night, as he was on the east coast and made time to come visit. Great to see him, and fitting since this was Blast From The Past Week at the DIS Dads Club.![]()
