Really? 60 minutes? :lmao:

Glad things are healing quickly.
Impressed by my cheetah-like 20-minut\mile pace?
:rotfl2:
My April 5K time was 35m:19s. That was with a torn ACL. I'm a BEAST.
:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:
I have to wait about a month until I can start real running. Right now they told me walking, with some light jogging. So I'm going to focus more on flexibility and range for the next 4 weeks. I was planning to do a Zombie mud run this month but the MRI results squashed that.

Excellent news.
I may have to consider knee surgery to see if I can get my 5k time to improve to your level.
I'd recommend that you do it right around a significant sporting event like March Madness where you then get a green light to sit around and recover while being catered to the entire time. :cool1:

hmm, somehow i missed my official number. WOO! im lucky DISDAD #777?

member list hasn't been updated to reflect that yet.. lol. wonder if i can entice a tag fairy to add lucky disdad #777 for me or not. does the smell of bacon attract fairies? how about alcoholic suckers? (story for later after i get home later today)

Im still trying to catch up on everything. currenty have a DS asleep on my lap because he woke up when DW (not technically married yet, trying to find the funing for a disney wedding but she says no because not enough time to find a dress and get her mom to florida with us for Make a Wish trip we will be taking, my parents dont need much enticing for a disney trip nd her dad will be going with us) left for work.

Any other dads use Ecigs? (not sure if against fourm rules, need to double check but thinking its allowed since beer is) its one of my hobbies at the moment and i seem to have addictive personallity with things i like. whether it be games, hobbies, tv shows, it doesnt matter. becomes most of what i talk about and like to do.

well, off to get dressed so ican head into town and run errands and try to prep for cooking dinner tonight. will be back on later to post the alcoholic sucker story if anyone wants me to. (BTW im confident i can make a bacon flavored one!)

Sorry, TC. The list was updated, the link wasn't. All fixed now, Thank You.

Hey Randall,

As long as you're updating page 1, I found another trip-planning resource:

http://www.tvfoodmaps.com/

This site catalogs just about every restaurant that's ever been featured on any food show known to man. :thumbsup2

I just got done looking up that place you went to a few years back with the X-Wing and added that to our list for this month's road trip. Now this?!? I will have exactly 0 work-related productivity today. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I am very competitive but not to the point of getting into a fight on a court, field, etc. I'm more likely to walk away from a debate with the opposition and stick it to them by playing better. With that being said, kids aren't being taught to be competitive.

I am 110% for good gamesmanship, shaking hands, playing hard but fair, not running up the score, etc. But we NEED to stop with the participation awards. If they want to do that for the little kids, fine. But as soon as you legitimately start keeping score, it's time to dial back the everyone plays the same amount of time and everyone gets a trophy crap.

When I took over our Intramural hoop program. Starts at Kindergarten. First thing we did was stop the trophies and medals and started a season end tournament for the kids. Winner of the tournament get t-shirts proclaiming they are the Champions for the year. Everyone had a blast, the kids thought it as the best thing in the world playing quick games against all the other teams in a few hours. You wouldn't believe all of the "everything was awesome this season, but it's too bad you stopped giving out awards to all the kids". My response: If they want an award, they better start practicing to win the t-shirts next year.:thumbsup2 That didn't go over so well.:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

Didn't quite think that one through, did they?

:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

My son played in a coach pitch baseball league this summer. The only score that was kept was to know if a team scored 5 runs in an inning (mercy rule - each inning is 3 outs or 5 runs scored) After the last game, I glance over into the other team's dugout, and the coaches are handing out trophies to all of the kids. They weren't league trophies - remember, there was no wins or losses that anyone kept track of. The coaches just decided to give all of their kids trophies for participation. :sad2:

We have strict guidelines that prevent a specific coach from giving anything to the team beyond popsicles and such to make sure to keep it fair. I'll bet you that this is his first barrage of "goodness" on his way to requesting be the coach on the Williamsport team or some thing like that.

I will not go into DD's room unless I am in a hazmat suit.

That and dealing with the parents that think their kid is a reincarnation of Babe Ruth. Loved coaching the kids in both baseball and soccer but HATED dealing with some of the parents.

You have a hazmat suit?:rotfl2::lmao: I may need to borrow that. DD scheduled room clean out this weekend.

Dealing with Parents in sports is the worst part of it. Of course they don't figure out that their child is not in the 1% that earn sports scholarships until way too late. Keep them hitting the books.

Some of your scuba gear could be used toward that end.
Of you could just throw caution to the wind like this guy…
stupid%20people%20265.jpg

He seems to be having a good time though, doesn't he?:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hey guys hope all is well, hate that I haven't been on in a month, nice newish thread. Hope everyone has been doing well.
Counting down the sept universal trip and the oct ToT 10 miler trip, also booked flights for the Jan Star Wars half trip yesterday, we added days to the trip so now deciding between staying at the Fairfield or going all out on the Grand Californian since it'll prob be awhile till we go back.

Had a trying few weeks, two weeks ago my friend and former supervisor (the one I took over for last year) passed away from heart failure and then Monday one of my mechanics passed away from a heart attack. They were 63/64. Overall everything's good, hope everyone is doing well.

Ohhh also heard a interesting Beatles tidbit today, John Lennon signed the papers officially breaking up The Beatles at Disney World with the Poly in the background.

Sorry to hear of the passing of your friends. Prayers to the families.

Welcome back. 6 more work days for me.

[SHAMELESS SELF-PROMOTION]

I went and started a TR for our latest adventures in the American Southwest. You might not be interested until we reach Disneyland, which won't be for a while. But, if you're a glutton for punishment:

The Dry Heat Expedition

[/SHAMELESS SELF-PROMOTION]

Ummm...........I'll check it out right now.......really........I'm already looking at it..........Are you in DL yet?:rolleyes1

We got back from our first soccer game. It looks like we and others were listened to. They had about 20 minutes of practice before playing the other team. DS showed that he just likes running and kicking a ball. DD has already shown she would rather not get scored on rather than score herself.

:thumbsup2 I like it. DD took the "I can't lose if they don't score approach". Call the scouts now.

Morning guys. Headed to the hip replacement manufacturing Capitol of the world today, beautiful Warsaw IN.

Hopefully not for a new hip. Have a fun field trip.

Morning men! Not much going on on the other sites, so I thought I would drop by and see what's happening.

Work has reached the major suckage level, OT is expected and doing paperwork full time sux badly. If anyone has any opening for something not involving paperwork, let me know.

Matt

I'm glad we could provide you some entertainment since the other sites are all boring today.

Norm has a state job where you get tons of vacation time, never have to actually work and never get promoted. Maybe he needs an assistant.

With my limited running schedule you've got me beat, I think the last time I ran it was about 38 minutes. I know I don't run enough to get it down to where I would like it to be but what really gets me is that the only time I ran a 10K race, my time was about 45 minutes. Of course that was about 30 years ago. :lmao:

Morning Guys. Looks like it will be a quiet day at the office.

Hey Darcy. Busy day around here with the vacation coming up. Worked from home yesterday and got absolutely nothing done. Only 3 more weeks until school starts and peace is restored to the home.:thumbsup2

Good morning.

Well it really quiet now, something just happened to our server and no one can connect to our shared drives. At least the Internet is FibreOp and still works.

DW goes back to school in about 3 weeks (officially), she probably start going to her class in about 2. DS heads back after Labour Day. He's probably looking forward to it this week - basketball camp all day and soccer practice in the evening.

Sorry, TC. The list was updated, the link wasn't. All fixed now, Thank You.

just me grumbling now.. the link you gave still doesnt list me. unless im looking in the wrong place. i probably am :rotfl2:

for the alcoholic suckers story i said i would tell later.. i have some time now that DS is out with grandma for a while longer (read at most another 45 minutes)

I was playing Diablo 3 when my DW comes running to me all excited telling me i HAVE to make this for our next party we go to while holding out her phone. on the phone was a link to someones college "science experiments" on alcoholic suckers, and jello. (BTW, did you know you can actually NAIL jello to a board and if properly made will stay there until you remove it?, although the more hard liqueur you add the more runny it gets.) i was tasked with the "Chore" of making flavored suckers (lolipops if you need a picture since i cannot make a round mold for the life of me, it becomes oval shaped REALLY quickly) that contained alcohol.

My first flavor i attempted was a Strawberry Daiquiri (wow i cannot spell that word without googling it first, even my browser spellcheck kept trying to change it to Aquarius . ) the first attempt did not have enough rum in it to meet my standards with only 1 shot per 10 suckers. attempt #2 was ~1.5ml strawberry flavoring, with 2 shots of rum and about 5 drops of food coloring. that came out perfect. poured the molten sugar into my cookie sheet with powdered sugar for a mold. take a picture. then work on second flavor. Watermelon. used 99 watermelons liquor (99 proof!) and watermelon flavoring. with 1 drop of pink food coloring. those came out pretty well. onto third attempt. Jagerbomb flavored suckers. this attempt did not turn out that great.. not sure if it was because i pulled it off the heat too soon afraid of overcooking it, or the liquor/soda did not want to set up right. they turned out more like a hard taffy than a sucker.

took them to a halloween party where everyone loved them. i WARNED everyone that they were alcoholic (while they were already drinking beer and taking shots) (uhm, childs home, might take a bit longer to type up now) so to only eat a few of each at most. of course nobody wanted to listen to me, so they all became drunk much faster than they anticipated and had a blast at the party. a few days later i was asked to make another batch for someone to take to another party. i did and they told everyone how great they are and they were a hit there. the number of times i have made them is directly porportonal to the number of amazing parties i ahve been to. i would make some to send to yall but im not sure if im allowed to mail them or not..:confused3

aw, i guess im late to the party for the suckers then. darn. they are still a blast to make (gotta taste/test the ingredients first to make sure they are still good!)and even more fun to eat. what kinds have yall tried to far, and where were they from if i can ask?

I think you missed the sarcasm and overall tone of my response. I was referring to us, not an actual food item. Carry on.

I don’t know… being a sucker for all things Disney and maintaining a permanent state of inebriation seems to work well for me. (and commenting on Ryan’s “Please ignore this thread” thread has been known to earn one a tag from time to time).

We’ll be hauling our young’en back to school this Saturday. But the musicians and athletes have to be there early. The semester won’t start officially till the 18th. That’s also about the time that the public schools crank back up ‘round here. My SIL is a principal up in Charlotte. She’ll be back in the office starting Monday I believe.

Cool story there.
I’ve got an idea that might help you out when it comes to making the round molds for future batches. Since you’ve already got a shot glass out to measure the alcohol, use the bottom of that to press the shapes into the powdered sugar.

Ooh, ooh, and she's buying a stairway to heaven.

More like an extension ladder to purgatory…

Name is Jon. Been to WDW about 18 times in my 29 years of life. Now have a 5 year old and taking her to WDW this Sept for the first time. We breathe, sleep, eat disney at my house. From "Under the sea" alarm music, to Frozen fruit snacks, to one Disney movie before bed. Can't wait for her to see the real deal in Sept.

Hiya Jon!

hmm, i think i read in one of the threads we have a beverly challenge? is there any rules or just how many you can drink? ... i may have an idea that would put me WAY in the lead lol
