Had to solve a major problem tonight. The dds found a dead mouse on the sidewalk outside and freaked out. They are 12 & 10. I guess it is a girl thing.

Had a trying few weeks, two weeks ago my friend and former supervisor (the one I took over for last year) passed away from heart failure and then Monday one of my mechanics passed away from a heart attack. They were 63/64. Overall everything's good, hope everyone is doing well.

It may just not be the independent ones. When we did the DP, there were lots of restaurants missing when the list first ran.

It's epidemic and not limited to baseball. Part of the problem is some of those parents think they know more than your son's coach.

The other epidemic is that most parents think their child will be playing professional, despite the fact that both parents are 5' tall and the kid never has a desire to practice at home.

Tonight we start soccer. We were shocked this year that it will be just games and no practice time at all. Coaches are only responsible for rotating in fresh players and policing rough play. They are also splitting up girls and boys which I'm not at all happy about.

Actually, thst's a good thing. My youngest dd wouldn't play soccer when mixed with the boys in U6. I moved her up to U8 Girls and coached her ever since. She made the select team this season.

We got back from our first soccer game. It looks like we and others were listened to. They had about 20 minutes of practice before playing the other team. DS showed that he just likes running and kicking a ball. DD has already shown she would rather not get scored on rather than score herself.

Good news is that I got clean bill of health on my knee. They expect an excellent recovery based on the procedure and said that my knee looks great for being 12 days post-op. I'll be back to running 60 minute 5K in no time!


I'm happy to see so many dads on the same page as me re: youth athletics. ranging from the trophies to the over zealous parents that think Johnny is going to play in the majors, based on seeing him play 10 games against his 8 year old peers.

I am a staunch believer in life lessons. Kids need to fail every now and again to learn how to deal with things. And adversity and challenges will only make them better prepared for that next difficult moment, whether it's a test or a bully in their class.

Zoo day is starting early. Chaos and Mayhem were up at 5:30 to watch the sun come up. This is a switch because usually I'm going to bed as the sun comes up.

I can see Teppan Edo being a 3rd party, but probably not 1900. It could be that the bean counters at Disney Headquarters are still figuring out how to allocate all of the revenue/expenses across the different business units. I'm sure they'll be on the plan soon enough.

Hey guys hope all is well, hate that I haven't been on in a month, nice newish thread.
Counting down the sept universal trip and the oct ToT 10 miler trip, also booked flights for the Jan Star Wars half trip yesterday, we added days to the trip so now deciding between staying at the Fairfield or going all out on the Grand Californian since it'll prob be awhile till we go back.

Not so good that work of making you miserable. I dwell in a similarly depressing cave.

There’s not a whole lot of paperwork required by the average fast food or Walmart type job.
And as a bonus they come with poverty level compensation and virtually no bennies.
Which is why I’m still putting up with my overlords.

Im still trying to catch up on everything. currenty have a DS asleep on my lap because he woke up when DW (not technically married yet, trying to find the funing for a disney wedding but she says no because not enough time to find a dress and get her mom to florida with us for Make a Wish trip we will be taking, my parents dont need much enticing for a disney trip nd her dad will be going with us) left for work.

Any other dads use Ecigs? (not sure if against fourm rules, need to double check but thinking its allowed since beer is) its one of my hobbies at the moment and i seem to have addictive personallity with things i like. whether it be games, hobbies, tv shows, it doesnt matter. becomes most of what i talk about and like to do.

well, off to get dressed so ican head into town and run errands and try to prep for cooking dinner tonight. will be back on later to post the alcoholic sucker story if anyone wants me to. (BTW im confident i can make a bacon flavored one!)
