What could possibly go wrong?

‘Morning all…
Been a bit busy work wise so it’s forced me to hush up a bit.
Starting to catch up though so just may be able to add a bit more useless nothing to this fine thread in the near.

Hope all are well…
A belated happy anniversary to Norm…
A welcome back home to David (I see y’all survived, so it looks like you’re ready for the next Florida drive)…

And Randall, if you’re still down at D’World, may I say: I hate you sir.
No… that’s not true, I hate me for not being there… you, I envy.

It's the flip flops that make this a bad idea, right?:confused3

Yah… that’s probably the only truly questionable decision that fell’a made there.

It looks like I will be in the market for a couple of cars soon:crazy2:, My car last week blew the heater core and I know that it will cost around $1200, Since I also know I need front struts bringing it to about $2000 I'm going to be looking I want to try to make it last till at least the spring, I already fixed the heater core problem for now using my McGyver skills, 2pairs of needle nose vice grips and duct tape (didn't fix it but it's not leaking any more:thumbsup2} also I am planning on replacing DW minivan with 170K on it by May:confused3, .
Since I'm not in a bind I'm going to shop around and hit the senior neighborhood clubhouses for some low mileage luxury cars at a really good price:thumbsup2

First: Ouch
Second: nice improvisational engineering there
Third: good luck on the search.

My vehicles are currently 10, 15 and 16 years old respectively and I need them all to last at least another five to seven years.
Wish me luck on that one.

Good morning gentlemen.

I've been up since 4:30 with a little girl who is not going to be late for her first day of school. Lunches are packed and ready. And Stretch is learning a valuable life lesson, women take forever in the shower, deal with it and hope they save you some hot water.

My Jeep is 16 years old with 217,000 miles on it. We just replaced our van and have taken on a car payment for the first time in about 8 years. DW asked when I wanted to start looking at replacing the Jeep. I told her it's just starting to get broken in!

Morning All!

Again, congrats Norm. Any plans to celebrate?

There's a celebration every day he actually shows up at the office.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Oh, you meant the anniversary. Have a good one Norm!

Sucker bet but I will take it. Phins will probably be an 8-8 team. I am coming in the 7th and may meet Norm for lunch at ESPN for lunch. You in? Will buy the first round. The second round for Norm since I owe him.

Lunch at ESPN sounds great. I'll have Alexandra with me if that is OK. Not sure leaving an 11 year old alone in the room is acceptable.

Ouch! Car problems stink. Good luck finding good replacements. We have been pretty lucky, bought used Lexus and Odysee and both have been excellent (knock on wood).

Traveling trampoline. Hey Norm, that could be a new business venture for Team Sparrow. Shark Tank here we come!:lmao::lmao:

DS actually got up at 5AM to get a run in before school. First day of High School today. They grow up fast.

My Jeep is 16 years old with 217,000 miles on it. We just replaced our van and have taken on a car payment for the first time in about 8 years. DW asked when I wanted to start looking at replacing the Jeep. I told her it's just starting to get broken in!

My 2006 Lexus has 140K miles on it. Need to drive that for a few more years and then DS will take it when he gets his license. I'm planning a mid life crisis around then. Flip flopping on the replacement, but it's looking like something convertible. :thumbsup2

Morning Guys.

Started the morning with heavy rain but now it's nice and sunny. Should be hot and humid for school soccer try-outs later this afternoon.

Have a wonderful hump day!!

Back to school today. Put these three on the bus this morning.

First day of Kindergarten for the youngest. DW and I may have gotten a little misty. And yes, I raced to the school to take some pics of them getting off the bus.

Nice job on the photo documentation. Were they just as happy and energetic at the end of the day?

I'm in the same boat. It stinks.

Ryder could probably take care of that for you.

Morning everyone...

Girls dropped off for another year, and I got my first walk done. Just aroud the waterfront, for about an hour, it's a start, right? :confused3

Also, in typical me style, did some groundwork planning/research for the proposed 2016 Disney trip, just because.
Bravo! You have to start somewhere!

I know, right? My wife and I really do make cute babies.
Have 2 or 3 more and see if you can keep the streak alive! :thumbsup2

Bummer. But bravo for fixing it with duct tape! ::yes::

But bringing her to a bar is totally cool. :thumbsup2
This post is that's nice approved! :thumbsup2

Is anyone else psyched about Star Wars Rebels? I never watched Clone Wars and by the time I heard it was really good, I felt like I was too far behind to catch up. Anyway, I spent about an hour this weekend watching all the videos they had on youtube. Can't wait. How can I find out if they will be available on demand?

Afternoon everybody. Wish someone would give me a beer after I said that. :lmao:

What could possibly go wrong?

Maybe there wasn't an airbag.

Hope all are well…

My oldest is 10 years old. It needs to last another 6 years and then I will pass it on to one of the dds.

My dds enjoy school and were up and dressed really early the first day. They still ask to go early because it I social hour for them.

There's a celebration every day he actually shows up at the office.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

I show up. The celebration is when I do any work. :lmao:

Thanks on the anniversary.

2

Brilliant. You put up the capital and I'll call the show. :lmao:

Pulling the dandelions out of the backyard and putting them in the vase doesn't go over very well.

I'm not that stupid. Well.....

DW actually does not like roses. She prefers tulips, daisies, carnations, so I get by a little cheaper.

At least take a run to the bourbon bar. Congrats again on 15.

Thanks. 14 this year still.

Congrats Norm on the anniversary!

Thanks.

Nah, she does that enough each Sunday. :duck:

Also, happy anniversary!

Thanks. DW has figured out there is not much brain in my head that the skillet could fix. Rather, she's more likely to bring home a fraternity paddle and replicate the initiation scene in Animal House. "Thank you ma'am, may I please have another". eek: :teacher: :lmao:

In Wisconsin she could drink at the bar.

I am. It looks good and returns a lot of the people who made the Clone Wars. I think we might meet a very familiar Wookiee in the premier. If you have Netflix, I highly recommend going back and watching the Clone Wars. I'm about half way through season 3.

Lunch at ESPN sounds great. I'll have Alexandra with me if that is OK. Not sure leaving an 11 year old alone in the room is acceptable.

Bring her along. I am sure she will be better company than you are. I'll PM you and Norm when we get closer.

But bringing her to a bar is totally cool. :thumbsup2

:rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

My Dad brought me to a bar when I was a kid. I brought the Pirate Princess to bars when she was a kid. Nothing wrong with that. We turned out OK. Well, she did anyway.

And happy birthday. To celebrate, bring Ryder to a bar and have one on us.

That’s mightily early to up and about.
We’ll see how long it is that they still want to go to school as opposed to “have” to go.
That’s when it will be tougher getting them out of bed at all.

As for the life lesson… best to learn that one early.
Just build the extra time into your plans up front cause ain’t nothing gonn’a speed up the process.

My oldest has about 180k now; the newest around 150-ish. Oddly the 99 minivan has the least miles at under 110k but at any rate I should be able to squeeze a good bit of road time out of all of them. I rather like not having a payment right now. Aaaaa… let me rephrase that: I rather need to not have that payment right now. And for a good while yet if possible please.

DS actually got up at 5AM to get a run in before school. First day of High School today. They grow up fast.

Dedication…
That’s a good thing right there.

And… yes, yes they do

With a Lexis that shouldn’t be an issue. My dad has one older than all my vehicles and has it well up toward the 250k range. It still purrs.

A convertible could be fun as well.
I’d like one that’s for sure, but I don’t see it happening at this point.

Should be hot and humid for school soccer try-outs later this afternoon.

Yah that’ll make it a bit more miserable, but given his proven skill level, I don’t see it being much of a factor.

Thanks. DW has figured out there is not much brain in my head that the skillet could fix. Rather, she's more likely to bring home a fraternity paddle and replicate the initiation scene in Animal House. "Thank you ma'am, may I please have another". eek: :teacher: :lmao:

Conjures up quite the visual there…
I’d rather like to un-see that one. :lmao:

My Dad brought me to a bar when I was a kid. I brought the Pirate Princess to bars when she was a kid. Nothing wrong with that. We turned out OK. Well, she did anyway.

Spent many a summer afternoon in roadside bars as a guest of my grandpa and sometimes my dad as well.
They’d buy us a Short Coke; plunk a quarter into the pool table and…
Poof! Instant babysitter.

Barkeep… I think I’ll have another.

And happy birthday. To celebrate, bring Ryder to a bar and have one on us.

Dang… I missed that one.

Barry!
Happy Birthday.
Better make that seven beers and a double order of cheese curds.
