Top O the Mornin and happy Friday Eve! Are ya ready for some football?

2. Proud Dad moment - DW was working, so I was in charge. I go out to cut the grass. Gave my kids their marching orders, (do homework, take showers, empty the trash cans from their rooms, etc.) I'm in the garage and my oldest DD comes out and tells me that my youngest broke her mom's handheld mirror. My oldest DD did nothing to get her sister in trouble and cexplained to me how it happened and she was very clear about it being an accident. I go inside and I have complete rage internally but am outwardly emotionless. I go grab the vacuum to make sure there is no glass. Only to my surprise, my oldest DD cleaned up the shards of glass AND vacuumed up everything. Meanwhile my youngest is bawling terribly out of fear. I quickly consoled her explaining that accidents happen and she need not be worried. I went out of my to emphasize to my soon-to-be 10 yo how proud I was of her actions.
I was so proud of my DD for taking care of the situation and even more so for being compassionate towards her little sister.
Well done Dad and way to go big Sis :thumbsup2
Good morning guys. Today our oldest DS, Thomas, turns 10. He is very excited about having his first birthday in America. I'm pretty sure he thinks there will be a parade or something in his honor, lol

Every once in a while, it's nice to see things like that happen and to get that affirmation that you're doing okay as a parent.

That kid deserves some ice cream.

Good Morning Guys. Still haven't gotten through the trip pics yet. Will try to post some this weekend. Football tonight and a short week. Happy hump day on a Thursday.

Had a couple of cool moments today.
1. While cutting the grass, I spot a mole that ran from the mower and started to burrow. I was by my fire pit and I quickly grabbed one of the wooden sticks that I use as a poker. I stabbed the mole right in its noggin. Sorry, not sorry PETA.

1. That mole was someones mother.:eek::eek: :rotfl2::rotfl2:

2. :thumbsup2 to DD. As they get older, there are more of those moments. Of course there are also the ones where no one is safe as well.

Not even a pot and pan marching band. I see Obama cut the Duck budget as well.:faint:

Yeah, can you believe they let that guy drive.:lmao::lmao:

Can you get him to Disney World by 3pm?:confused3 Happy Birthday!

:lmao::rotfl2::lmao: Sounds like a triple dog dare. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Thomas.

But, we will pay for it next week. After four day work weeks June & July, August has been difficult.

I'll just need to take next Friday off to compensate.:thumbsup2 Have a golf tournament that day. The following week a work/golf outing as well. Looks like I get to keep the short weeks coming.:thumbsup2

Huh? :lmao::lmao:

Hey guys. Headed down to wdw in 9 days... should be fun!

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Just got back and at 29 days here. Nice to be at single digits. Have a great time. Are you doing MNSSHP? I heard there are a lot of changes this year. One being that the old lady (witch) gives out apples.

Afternoon Guys.

Birthday wishes to Nate and Thomas. Belated birthday wishes to Barry!

Been busy here lately and last day of soccer try-outs in 3 hours. Good news is this year I'm allowed to take all the best players and not all of the grade 8s if there are 7s that are better.

We are grade restricted here, but always have a higher/lower grade and take the top players for the top team regardless of older/younger. I think at U14 it is grades 7 & 8. Good luck assembling the Juggernaut!

We all hate you guys and wish you great trips at the same time.

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

You can come along if you like. Norm and CJ are going too.

It sucks not being one of the cool kids, lol

I once decapitated a baby bunny with my lawn mower. I think my kids are still traumatized.

Nice job, DD. And nice job Dad.:thumbsup2

Happy birthday Thomas!

Good morning. I love these short work weeks. It feels like hump day, but tomorrow is Friday. :thumbsup2

And pay day! :woohoo:

We are trying to keep him a little humble. He snapped his fingers at one of his sitters yesterday and said they had to do something because tomorrow was his birthday. :confused3

That did not fly well with his mother :scared: I think he learned that you don't snap your fingers in front of mom like you expect her or any of your sisters to jump.

You don't?! :eek:

LOL. If I would have done that to my wife, I'm certain something would have been thrown at me! I certainly appreciate the parenting efforts to maintain humility. It's oemthing that I am working on with my youngest daughter "who is always right". She'll state things...factually, but with no regard for them sounding condescending. Ask her who is smartest in her class and she'll look you right in the eye and tell you it's her. So we have the self-confidence thing going for her. :lmao:

Agreed. Downside is that I have to do 5 days of work in 4 days!:p

Our priest delivered a similar homily. I decided not to pray for patience anymore, as I was already failing at all the current practice opportunities.
:lmao: Yep, I hear you loud and clear!

That kid deserves some ice cream.
That's a really good idea. Tonight I may treat her after an insanely hot\humid soccer practice.

While I am in no way in favor of "hurting" animals, I have destroyed many critters in my lifetime via mower blades...mostly rodents and the like, but the mole was a small victory for me. :squirrel: Last year they did a bang up job on my turf. So if I eliminated a mother, then even better. I have considered investing in an outside cat just for hunting purposes! My dog is excellent at herding and running off deer, but she's not a hunter. :dogdance:

Single Digit Dance!! :dancer:

:thumbsup2 :cool1::thumbsup2

Prob not going to go this year. I'm headed down with my sister and her fiancee to help them with wedding crap... Feel bad doing that party without the kiddos... Will prob just sit up top of BLT at the bar and drink. :thumbsup2

We all hate you guys and wish you great trips at the same time.

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

You hate me? :confused3 But I like you.

Got to love it when the countdown gets to days, not weeks or months. Enjoy!

This one caught me a bit by surprise... Just been busy. It's nice though! :cool1:
