Thanks guys Nope, that stays at the restaurant.....hold on...I could sell some chicken out of my room at Port Orleans and help pay for this vacation. Not a bad idea... Well we are here! Rock Hill, SC. Checked in to the Hampton Inn and had my free cookie. Ready for some dinner, going to drive around a bit and see what we can find. Tomorrow, we will be at the World for Dinner. No real traffic today, pretty much clear sailing. We were also fortunate enough to miss Bridge Day, it was yesterday. We happened upon this event last year and were tied up in traffic for 1-1/2 hours. I will be posting some pics here of our trip, hope you fellas don't mind I'm not a Facebook guy and I just don't have time to write a full TR. Time to eat...
Safe travels and looking forward to pics and updates of the trip.

Happy Monday Guys.

Just sitting having a coffee before heading to the airport for my flight to Ottawa. Hope you all have a great day.

** Bad Idea of the Day ***

"I'm a lumberjack and I'm not OK. I sleep all night and put crummy shows on all day."

Doesn't exactly go with the Monty Python skit but it is appropriate. Downloaded pics and video of the trip and remembered seeing the lumberjack show at WS. I wanted to give it a chance, I was not a die hard kilt boy fan, but this show is BAD. I mean embarrassingly BAD. In line with the thread's name, this show is a BAD IDEA!

You choose sides between two teams based on where you are standing. You are supposed to encourage your "team" to win the competition. I could have cared less. In the words of Bob and Doug McKenzie, "You're a hoser." "No, you're a hoser." Look it up you young pups.

First of all, the announcer guy is REALLY BAD. He tries to generate enthusiasm but has no personality and is REALLY BAD AT IT. The first competition was an axe toss at a target. The person on my team was a "Lumberjill" and do I need to say, SHE WAS REALLY BAD. I have a daughter and want women to succeed in everything they want to do, but this girl needs to go back to the Yukon. The following youtube is her first two throws at the target. They were the closest she got.

http://youtu.be/mUBYPgTuB2o

Needless to say, I put down the camera and watched just a bit more before heading to the Canada kiosk for cheddar cheese soup and their mini filet. Luckily I did not have it before the show or I may have tossed it back while watching. If I was Canada, i would send an ultimatum to the US, "Get rid of this show or we are declaring war."

As an aside, I did see for the first time the Canada film. Funny and somewhat informative but there was no apology for Back Bacon, Eh. Again, look up the McKenzie brothers.

So, you're saying it was a great show? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

That's what I gathered from that post! :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

I've never really taken the time to hang around and watch Off Kilter... so whether they should have been replaced or not isn't something I can really comment on. That said, I have no intention of seeing the Lumberjack show either. Might watch a few minutes if it is in progress as we're passing by, but that's it.

I actually said "not have enough time" but "too lazy" works as well because I resemble that comment.. Lol

Excuse my faux pas. My post should have said, "unlike you". I have plenty of time but just am too lazy. You have to actually work, which limits your time.

‘Morning all…
Spent the past couple days up in the mountains watching marching bands. It’s an affliction, but I readily admit I suffer from it. Needless to say I’m a bit behind, so let’s see if I can’t get caught up here.

Instead of just paying my registration and being done with it, I decided it would be a better use of my time if I helped raise money for St. Jude Children's Hospital of Nashville. Like all of us as dads, Charities like this one hit us deep in our hearts, even if our kids are perfectly healthy…

Thank y'all for any and all support however large or small and even if you cannot donate, word of mouth is an awesome tool! Here's the link to my personal fundraising page:
http://fundraising.stjude.org/site/TR/Heroes/Heroes?px=2917088&pg=personal&fr_id=23820

Great idea there. I’ll take a look at the link for this when I get home this evening.

So, reruns of the McKenzie Brother's sketches would be a better option that this offering?
Sad.

I survived the 7 year old infused mayhem. DW and I are finishing cleaning up. Pretty exhausted. Soccer at 9 and 10:30 tomorrow and we are finally done with events and can focus on our Disney trip. Woohoo!

20 odd 7 year olds? That does sound like quite the ordeal.
Congrats on surviving the onslaught and enjoy the final bits of planning for the trip.

Thanks! Me posting at this hour is the result of my dog waking me up to take her outside. Pretty sure that she consumed her weight in popcorn, cupcakes and cookie cake.

3am is not the best time for a critter alarm, but it beats having the animal leave presents for you to discover in the morning. Glad everything came out alright.

Worse yet, the remote broke! I had to actually get up off the couch to change channels.

Oh, the horror!

Tomorrow, we will be at the World for Dinner.

Didn’t see this until this morning and we didn’t get back into town until after dinner time yesterday, but you were only a couple of miles from my humble home. Had I known and the timing had been better I’d have offered to buy you a beer or some BBQ.

Have fun storming the castle

Happy to see the pictures of the trip. Like you, I'm too lazy to do the whole trip report. The LIVE trip report is the way to go.
I am going to try and make up for the laziness with my comprehensive semi-live TR. Once I get into the single digits and am doing the happy dance, i will post the link for said TR.

I actually said "not have enough time" but "too lazy" works as well because I resemble that comment.. Lol
It's all about how you spin things. Instead of lazy, it's too busy. Too tired, no, you're fully leveraged.

It was about what I expected. My DD is pretty mature for her age and an absolute rule follower\enforcer. We're still at the stage where we invite more than we should. And while we love all of the parents, some of the kids when together, it is absolute torture. And to make it worse, the parents that we are REALLY good friends with, sit by and ignore their kids' atrocities. But we let DD invite who she wanted. I think after seeing how bad a few of the biys were, she's kind of agreed to a girls-only party next year. And the shame of it is that it was really only 2-3 boys that caused chaos. But overall it went well and DD had a blast.

3am is not the best time for a critter alarm, but it beats having the animal leave presents for you to discover in the morning. Glad everything came out alright.
Yeah, she's a good pooch. She's a Sheltie (looks like a small Lassie). She's a really smart dog so I know if she is waking me up, I need to be up! As if the 3am alert wasn't enough, she woke us all up the next night. DW put Bella in her crate b\c her paws were wet from going outside. DW proceeds to got to bed while I finish up some things in the kitchen and LR. I go to bed assuming th dog is just sleeping on the couch or something. never looked. At 6am, we woke to her Sheltie yodel. It is the HIGHEST pitched sound in the world. It starts as a howl and escalates to a yodel. Funny to hear except when you are sound asleep.:lmao: I woke up from REM sleep and it was like I was drunk. I did't know where the dog was, was afraid I left her outside or that her head was stuck in something! Nope, just her reminding us that she was still in her crate!

The busy weekend is over and it's back to the grind at work. I have a number of items to get done at work before our trip. It's the EOY review time and my self-eval needs to be done pre-tip. *sigh*

Had family over (all in-laws) yesterday to celebrate DDs Bday. It went well. I made pulled pork for the first time. It got rave reviews. I'm always nervous b\c my BIL is a chef by trade. hard to complete with that. And that's about the only skill he has.

Last week of soccer for my girls. I get to play assistant coach this week for my 10yo. I'm looking forward to it. My buddy and I are coaching b\c are head coach is out of town. My buddy and I have very different coaching philosophies than the head coach. Should be interesting to see how the girls respond.

Nice! Monday mid day ownage.

Good Morning Dads! Sorry I haven't been around in a while. Since the Disney trip a couple of weeks ago, the crap has hit the fan. This has left little time at home to hit the boards. Still having internet problems at the office with regards to my MacBook. Apparently we changed the firewall and it doesn't like the Mac products.:mad: They have been trying to figure it out for a while and still no progress.

Last thing to get done is the cable on the Tv's in the basement. Comcast keeps telling me the new boxes are working and I keep explaining they are not. Apparently they can see through the phone better than I can in front of the TV.:mad:

Field hockey and fall AAU hoops ending, try outs for town travel hoops are in progress, and no rest for the weary. DS room is going to be painted ND Gold with some blue accents. Found out today that we are having a Halloween party if anyone wants to come.:headache: Looks like I'll be up until 3 in the morning decorating and preparing for the next two weeks. Oh, and don't forget that model of Jamaica that DD and I have to create over the next two weeks for her school project.

Well, thats about it for the craziness right now. I'll try to check in and go back and see what I missed when I can. Off to make sure our customers are happy.

One positive is that we are so busy here at work, we will exceed our annual target at about 8 months. That will mean record profits that I may partake of. If such events take place, it looks like I have a green light to go DVC. You know what they say, once you go.......Ooops, wrong phrase.:bitelip:

Prayers to those in need, congratulations to those deserving and hope everyone has a good week.

Haven't been on for a while... just getting caught up, and then saw a post about Canada, and even better Bob and Doug Mackenzie references.

CJ, by the power invested in me, as Controller of the Universe, and ambassador to Canada, I hereby bestow up you the Key to the Beaver!

Well done sir!

Oh and Bob and Doug for those DISDad's who didn't bother to do their research... think Rutt and Tuke.

I dare you to do a Google search on that one.

That would have been great. Especially the part about you buying! :). I remember you mentioned you were in the area last year. Next time we should plan it, we will definitely be staying there again, we really like the area and it works out with our driving schedule. Really appreciate the offer.

Show off....:)

Good evening gentlemen

Watching a little football. Would the aliens who kidnapped Kyle Orton and put a QB in his place please return him. The kids' birthday party is coming up this weekend. It's going to be warm enough we are thinking of renting a bounce house. I can already tell that Cub Scouts is having a positive effect on Stretch. He's going outside more and playing with others more.

Not much else going on around here.

Off topic, I hate that Disney Side commercial with the Dad dueling Darth Vader. That's false advertising.
