Hope every one is enjoying Independence Day festivities. As it's approaching dusk on the East coast, please be careful with the fireworks!

I was unfortunately laid up today with some type of 24 hour stomach bug. Started late morning yesterday and I didn't return to being a functional human being until around 3PM today. The wife and DDs went over to my SIL house to swim and BBQ. So at least I had some peace and quiet!

Morning all. We enjoyed the fireworks last night and have another party tonight. I hope everyone had a fun evening.

. Will be grilling, enjoying a few cold ones and later lighting off some pyrotechnics - drag is it is illegal in our town so have to be very careful.

I can't imagine they would be illegal in TN. My BIL and next door neighbor are both police officers. The short answer was that there are some legal, some not legal, but that they receive the most calls on July 4th. And, unless someone is shooting fireworks at another person or their property or it is really late past Midnight, the really just don't care.

Got the pit fired up today's menu is.
BBQ chicken legs
Roasted corn on the cob (it is in season here so we got some fresh from the field)
Armadillo eggs (jalapenos stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon)
And fried potatoes.

Sunds like a good menu. I really like those armadillo eggs, but no one else like jalapeño peppers in the family.

Afternoon fellas, hope everyone is having a great weekend! Still thinking about Katy Perry eating pizza in the Cinderella Suite, had to pinch myself when I saw that, was like a dream come true except I wasn't there.

I tried grilling lobster tail today, turned out pretty good and if anyone was wondering the Bacon and potato chip chocolate bar was awesome!

Hope everyone stayed safe during all the fireworks and partying. Remember it's all fun and games till someone loses an eye, then it's just fun you can't see.

I have my first, work paid trade show in Indianapolis in Sept, I like going to out of town sporting events when I can and of course that Sunday the colts are playing at Denver so no Lucas oil stadium for me. If anyone's interested in a meetup let me know.

Also I keep seeing stuff about the proposed monorail to Hollywood studios from I think the 80s, does anyone know why that never happened?

Any tips on how you did the lobster tail? I've pondered doing it many times, but in my house, DW won't eat seafood and my DDs will, but it depends on the day and the type!

Wow never been asked for grilling tips. I made a marinade of 1/2 cup olive oil, 1teaspoon lemon juice, 1/8th teaspoon paprika, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Brushed marinade on and let sit for 30 min.

If the store hasn't already, cut the shell down the middle lengthwise

I grilled on low gas heat, flesh side down for roughly 10 min and then the other side for about 5 min, brush on more marinade from time to time.

Both, the conference starts Sunday and ends Tuesday, I assume for cheaper room and conference hall rates.

Everything I have seen says it got canceled due to cost. The track is about $1M per mile, and the additional trains are $3-$4M each.
