AAAARRRGGGG!

Just called into DVC member services to buy my Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party tickets for 10/21. Realized that the event is 6 days after my daughter's 10th birthday. She's now an adult.:faint:

NOOOOOOOOO_1d7af9_2016814.jpg

Hello guys last day of this weekend. I work for three and then off for three more. looking forward to it. Since one day is a holiday and one is a weekend day should be pretty easy.

Watched team USA defeat Team Japan on American Ninja Warrior last night.

I love watching that show. We watched that episode too.

No PA again, held off till Friday. And there is no money involved, it stands for "Performance Assessment" in other years, my yearly review. I hit the top of the pay scale like 8 years ago. :sad2:

Since the girls are gone, would you say 'strangely' quiet or 'blissfully, wonderfully, superbly, awesomely, magnificently, terrifically' quiet? :lmao:

When my two dds are home, it is :mic:, and I am :crazy2:

I'll go with blissful:thumbsup2

Prayers appreciated, boss wants to meet this morning but would not give me details. I defended myself in our annual reviews a couple weeks back and I'm pretty sure it did not sit well with him when I supported my side with email and text evidence.
Good luck. As a coworker of mine once said, "Facts certainly do harm creativity." We are in the process of doing mid years right now and I presented all facts for my own review and have been pulling tons of metrics for the reviews with my staff. I do my best to remove emotions from the equation.

Specific trip details are still sketchy, but the “unsmart” methodology is in place.

Back in the fall, we implemented a policy of tucking any extra cash or unexpected income into something akin to a “Disney Piggy Bank”; physically off the books and away from the sight of any potential bills. We just ignore whatever went in there. If I sold a piece of gear or old furniture or the like then the proceeds would be converted to cash and tucked away. Extra gig income or monies made outside of work or say from a yard sale; same thing. Cash from birthdays or Christmas; away it want. We sat down the other day and counted it up for the first time and were shocked to realize that we’d already put away better than a grand in cash. Combine that with our normal saving for unexpected expenses and regular vacation funds and it’s looking like we “could” justify an interesting trip. Especially as we’re not really doing anything this year. Now here’s the “unsmart” part of the equation: what I should do with that extra cash is pay it toward tuition expenses. But we’ve talked ourselves into keeping it off the books for now and continuing to toss all extra funds into that cookie jar. If we do this right we should be able to get back into the world of Disney and potential back onto a ship next May. We also have a long range plan of trying to head out to the west coast in 2017 after the boy graduates. The same payment method will be implemented for that and much could change between here and there though. Needless to say, nothing is guaranteed or finalized here.
While I commend you for this approach, I was hoping it was going to be something more shady in nature or even dare I say illegal
In my mind I saw the scene from Goodfellas when Ray Liota and Joe Pesci were kids and were selling cigarettes out of the back of a truck.

Now that makes no sense at all....;)
THANK YOU for acknowledging my comment. It's like the 3rd dig I made at you guys and I got nothing! I started to wonder, "Hmmm...did I actually offend many of our Canadian brethren or were my jokes just not funny?" I find myself debating those 2 scenarios often, even outside of the forum:rotfl:

Yup, same deal here. My oldest turns 10 in September and we head to WDW in November. Oh well :confused3

Morning, men. I'm off to get some lab work done before heading to work. I have 2 mid year reviews to do today. About 1/2 the office is out for vacation, so I'm hoping for a quick and painless day! Perhaps I'll even find some time to finish my last Trip Report. :lmao:

‘Morning all…
One more day, one more day, one more day…

Quiet this morning.
Hay Duck! Where are you? Hope the meeting went well.

The NSA probably has it too. You could probably get it through a Freedom of Information Act request.

Hummmm…

:headache: Well then maybe I’ll go steal someone else’s credit card.
We all know exactly how Disney does…
And yet we’re all still addicted and go back time and again.
They must know something about us that we’re not willing to admit to.

Doesn't seem so unsmart to me. Actually seems rather intelligent. Especially for you. :rotfl2:

Good for you.
I left the easy set up line in plain sight, you miraculously found it and replied with the single most predictable stock insult.
Was concerned that I might have made it too hard on ya’.
He can be taught.

CJ has the credit card #. Just don't tell Barry.

I vote spend on trip because Ryan's onto something.

So that explains how the Life of CJ got to be the Life of CJ

And I agree with Ryan as well.
We’ve pretty much talked ourselves into going to sea on our forth DCL ship.
I believe that is referred to over on those threads as a Grand Slam.
(now I just need for nothing to go wrong between here and next May)

Ahhhh…
Well may it be a good write up once you get to see it.
Pay ceilings are unfortunate.
Whether their by design of by management prerogative, they still equal the same truth…
Your compensation is being continually cut by inflation.

Just never let facts get in the way of a good story.
May the process of working out those mid-years go as smoothly as such a thing can.

Morning all. It is another beautiful day here. Well, I finally figured out why a group would want an overweight, out of shape me to play tennis. Apparently, there is the over 40 tournament next weekend and they wanted me because I am so ................... over 40 and still have a decent serve. It feels good to be recruited. :lmao:

That sounds like a grand slam to me. We've yet to do a DCL, although I am hopeful one day we will. I'm trying to budget airfare to WDW as opposed to me driving.

Was that one of the DVC discounted days? Now that everyone is upset, you want to share with them the price difference is like $20. :teacher:

I imagine what obstacles I could accomplish. I'm thinking maybe those first step things would be about it.

Yeah, I'm there too. We get the occasional raise, but most have been 2%. I'm working for my retirement and free tuition now. I have picked up the occasional extra job for extra income, but I finally stopped doing that since DW only did extra spending.

Our year end review is this month (FY is July to June). It is meaningless, yet we are still required to do them.

It is. It might make for a long day, as that is also the day we need to be up by 6 to eat breakfast and get kicked off the Disney Magic. We'll try to keep the day low-key so we don't have too many meltdowns at 11pm.

And the price difference for MNSSHP between adults and kids was closer to $10, but the real shocker was that if we do end up doing a dining plan, that difference is closer to $30 a day, times the 4 nights we're staying.

6 AM off cruise to midnight for MNSSHP makes for a long day. But, if you want to hit the party, I get that it might be the only night. Have you tried TiW yet? We do way better in it compared to DP.

I do have a TiW card, but for every trip we still run the numbers on the quick service dining plan. That way, we can use quick serve credits for breakfast and lunch, and TiW for dinner.

Looked like Jim hooked up Darcy with sweet tickets at Fenway Park last night. Darcy and his wife were front-and-center behind home plate, visible on TV with every pitch. I'll have to tell him not to pick his nose so much. :thumbsup2

Good morning guys, hope all is well, Seems like alots going on, in case I can't make it on tomm, Happy 4th to everyone, have a safe one. Tomm marks a week till our GWL over night stay. I'm excited even though it's just one night, haven't stayed out of town since our last WDW trip over a year ago.

Oh, I’m quite aware of that offer. And I considered it very hard; very hard indeed, but…
For several reasons May will work a whole lot better for us then June would (in 2015 at least).

Now the voyage we are considering does already have another one of our members booked on it, but I’m afraid that we’re probably not going to be able to tag along with the larger group after Father’s day. Honestly I feel a bit bad about that, but I also need to go with what works best for the rest of my family.

I understand, had that conversation with Jodi. She lost.
