TI'm not too worried about other people- I'm flying southwest and it's one of 2 airlines that flies direct to MCO, every flight is packed with families so they should know what they're getting into

I'm just not sure if I want to buy him his own seat or not

Of course I just had a co-worker go last week, and she said the lady in front of them put her seat back all the way everytime she got up (making the 18 mth old son scream since he was sitting on the dad's lap) and she would just turn around and give them looks

Never fear. We're flying all the way across the country to Vegas this summer with a baby on our laps. I can't wait to be That Guy for 4.5 hours!

Both HI and IC are both points eligible so it is a question of $. If I am there three days it will be the HI, two I can see staying at the IC. I started looking at flights and may book something next week. Hold off on using your capital with the company until it is definite. Can you arrange for them to play someone other than the Blue Jays? If not, I can say hello to some former Marlins. Even if they were only there for a few weeks.

Company? Do you expect me to actually talk to you? I will be there to add class and panache to the gathering. Told the Pirate Princess I will probably be going to Boston and may run into you. She said, "Great. Can you deliver a present for me?"

I'll call the Commissioner and see if he can arrange for the Marlins to be in Boston that day. I'll let you know what he says.

I have not failed yet getting tickets. I should know by the end of the week. Just trying to figure out who has the day and arrange for a swap.

Good Morning fellow dads! Thank you everyone for the well wishes on stopping smoking. Have more withdraws today but I am focused, most people say make it a week and the withdraws should be gone so I'm over halfway there.

Great job so far! As a former smoker of 18 years and quitting cold turkey I understand the difficulty. Whoever told you the withdrawals will be gone in a week was giving you some interesting information Keep focused and you'll do good. It's been just over 6 years for me and thank God every day for keeping it away. Every once in a while I still get that craving... but usually involves some sort of adult beverage.

Well fellow dads, because of past failures I refrained from posting any "quitting smoking" post. But I feel like I can safely post that I have been on chantix for 10 days and nicotine free for 3. Overall I feel really good about it and my family and my interest in running/health helps motivate me to keep it up.

Congrats on the 3 days and prayers that you kick it completely!

Good morning. The rain pretty much dodged us over the weekend as it moved through. We could watch the radar all weekend and see the storms split 2 counties west of us and go just north and just south of us. It worked really well for letting us get some work done this weekend, but I really hope this isn't a sign of our coming summer weather pattern! Things are getting dry and we could use some moisture.

Anyway, since we didn't get the rain we were expecting, we stayed busy in the fields Friday and Saturday and finished planting corn at around 8pm Saturday. We've got about 350 acres of soybeans left, but my uncle is in charge of taking care of that while dad and I work on getting ready to spray and start applying nitrogen to the corn. Still work to do, but those aren't nearly as time consuming or as urgent as getting seed in the ground.

Glad you were able to get everything planted. We'll start the rain dancing for you this week! I hope you have a great growing season this year.

Good Morning Sir. Just carry around a little pic of DD and every time you are tempted, take that out as a reminder of why you are doing it. Worked for a few friends I know. I never did smoke and don't plan to give up drinking. Continued good luck!

There are plenty of those days. I didn't drink the day before my last Dr visit - you know - to skew the lab test results. I did make up for it when I got home. That prostate test is traumatizing.

Quick update before bed...

We were expecting rain on Friday so we didn't want to work out way too far ahead of the planter Thursday night. We didn't get rain today so by the time I got to the field Dad had caught me with the planter.

We quit a little early again this evening. Really, really hoping for rain tonight. It went north and south of us and completely missed us so far. I don't want to start that trend already.

Right now it looks like it won't be a restful weekend. But, if it doesn't rain we should be able to finish planting corn tomorrow if we have a big day.

You have been busy. Glad the planting is just about done.
May y’all get the rain you need across the summer.
Let’s not be having another year like 12.

Quitting ain’t easy, but you can do it. Heck, you’re raising a young’en on your own so we know your pretty tough. Congrats on the good start and may you stay strong in the quest.

Got the plane tickets today. Flying in the morning 7/29 fly out 8/1. Pick a date that you and Paul are available and if you can get tickets, we will go. Pre/Post game stuff to be discussed later. Looking forward to my first real visit to bean town. Open to suggestions on what to do while I am there. And I promise no shivs, the TSA won't allow them on my carry on. If the voodoo doll comes out however, all bets are off.

The kid is officially done with her sophomore year. She flies out tomorrow morning. Two years to go and only four tuition payments left. But now she is talking grad school. Have fun while he is there and make sure you put him to work. Unfortunately mine has an "internship" that involves marine biology. "Sorry dad, can't clean the house, we are tagging sharks today."
