Another fun day.

Have no idea where my keys are. Looked all over and could not find them. Had to call a locksmith to break into the car and cut me a new set. I am sure the keys will reappear by tomorrow morning.

Then the kid calls and United canceled her flight home tonight. Their reason? "The plane broke?" Huh? Now flies home early am tomorrow and will be here around 9.

Got the mail and Thrifty sent me a bill for charged toll fees on a rental. The toll amount - $3.45, the administrative fee - $100. I have the Florida pre paid toll plan so that will be scratched off. After an argument I expect.

Also in the mail is a letter from the IRS saying I owe $2,800 from 2012 because her education allowance was denied. Will talk to the accountant (after a short April 15 recovery time) and expect that to be overturned. She is entitled to the allowance. After another argument of course.

Finally the mutt I did not want escaped under the fence. The bad news is that he came back.

It has gotten to the point where it is laughable. No sympathies needed. Seriously, I am laughing and saying, "What's next. Bring it." Determined to carry on and make sure 2014 does not suck. To that end, I am visiting a friend in DC at the end of the month to see the Cheetah run the Nike Diva Half. She has a great opportunity over the summer with her internship and I may be joining her on some research dives. And we have the WDW trip in June. Plus if she can get some time off and the IRS gets settled, I am looking at a RCL cruise deal sometime over the summer. That may not happen but I have a dream.

Now to the Boston Mafia, if you placed a curse on us, I surrender. Paul, I promise she won't shiv you. Well, probably. Jim, you are a worthy adversary and from all accounts a fine fellow. WOW, my tongue didn't just jump out of my mouth after that last statement.

Survived yesterday's day in history when Lincoln was shot and the Titanic hit an Iceberg. Today Lincoln died and the Titanic sank.

Here CJ, I "borrowed" this from Shawn, thought maybe you'd like to use it for awhile,

If she surrenders the shiv, I'll surrender the voodoo doll. :confused3

But Paul, nobody does that voodoo like you do! pixiedust:

Afternoon guys.

I'm so epicly far behind I'll just start over. Work is keeping me crazy busy. I'm now working 40 hours a week. The kids are still growing like weeds and getting into everything.

CJ, I hope things turn around.

Welcome new guy. Hope everyone else is doing well.

Summer road trip planning is in full swing and, like all of our vacations, being replanned constantly. I think we're on our final iteration, but in need of a bit o help. We'll be leaving York, ME on our way to New York City on August 16. We're looking for something interesting to do for half a day or so around Boston and I'm opening the floor to suggestions. I'm looking at you Paul, Jim and any other Eastern Massachusetts dads. DW would prefer not to go into Boston, but I'm sure I could persuade her if the place/event warranted it. (We were out there 15 years ago and the city just left a bad impression on her.) We'll have DD9, DS7 and DS2, something like a Sam Adams Brewery Tour probably won't work.

Thanks guys!. :thumbsup2

Ok... I don't like the Red Sox, and haven't even looked at the schedule, but if I'm that close to Boston in the summer, I'd definitely have to consider seeing a game at Fenway.

The drunken Sconnie is passing up a brewery tour. We are approaching The End Times.

Hi all,

I humbly ask that you consider my application for membership to the group.

I have wanted to work for Disney since my first trip when I was 12, but now that it looking unlikely unless I can wangle a retirement job there in a few years. My daughter has now taken on the quest to be an imagineer.

Living in the UK means that trips to WDW are expensive but I have still managed a Disney holiday of one variety or another every year since 2007. Unfortunately I pointed this out to my wife, so this year is off the cards.

I have visited WDW, Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disneyland, and been on the Magic and Wonder.

I also develop mobile apps in my spare time, and have just released my first Disney one called PhotoSpot WDW which helps you take better photos in the parks.

I rest my case.

Thanks

Peter

Welcome sir :thumbsup2

Are you driving? No need to go to Fenway, nothing good would come from that :rotfl2:

Afternoon gents. Back from a couple day trip just getting ready for the NHL playoffs. Surprised no mention of it yet as the playoffs start tonight but then again folks that live in cities north of the border likely aren't aware of what hockey playoff games are ;)

Gentleman, I humbly request membership in your distinguished club.
Welcome aboard :thumbsup2

Welcome aboard new guy 2
Been gone for awhile - life happens. So, trying to get back into the swing of things with at least one visit a day.

Hope everyone has a great day.
Good to hear from ya

Right on both counts. I'm available to go to the bourbon bar as soon as you arrive.

She was the one who selected a school that far north.

I think a road trip is in order. Bourbon bar, yummm. We went out to lunch after a quick stop at her doctor's office. First thing she did is change into shorts and she wanted to eat outside. "I think I am a Florida person after all."

When life gives you lemons you make lemonade, but what can you make from all that Beverly?

I like the $100 administrative fee on a $3.45 toll. Highway robbery. Literally. :crazy2:

That is good. I am going to steal that when I call Thrifty.

If she surrenders the shiv, I'll surrender the voodoo doll. :confused3

Surrender the voodoo doll and then she will put down the shiv.

Probably further south than you want to go but outside New York there is an amusement park called Playland. It is in Rye, just north of the city. It will give the kids a new appreciation of all things Disney. Went there when the Pirate Princess was around nine. By the time we left, she called it Pitiful-land.

They're in town that day. But at over $120 for the family for Standing Room Only tickets - I think not. :scared1::eek:

I've got breweries in my own back yard I can tour. Why would I want to see how they make that crap?

Are you driving? No need to go to Fenway, nothing good would come from that :rotfl2:
Yes, it's a road trip, so we'll be driving.

And don't worry, I'll give equal time to Yankee Stadium by avoiding it like the plague as well. :thumbsup2

Afternoon men. between work and school I'm having a hard time keeping up.

Welcome to the new members.

Tomorrow should be an interesting day PT test in the A.M. and brief about reenlistment in the afternoon. I have a good part of the day off so it counts as a win..... except the PT test that's never a win.

Hold your horses! You should treat Yankees Stadiu like mecca. Where else can you see where 27 World Championships have been won???

Are you driving through Northern or Central Indiana on you're way there/back? Because I think Andy, Stopher myself as well as other Central Indiana dads would be a cool attraction :thumbsup2

This is why we've been doing the stadium tours instead of getting game tickets for the family. Much easier on the budget, and you get to sit in the dugout for at least 3 seconds. :thumbsup2

Some parts of the Freedom Trail in Boston are cool. We climbed the Bunker Hill monument and toured Old Ironsides (the USS Constitution). Concord and Lexington battlefieds are nearby and not in the city.

Definitely a lot for the kids to do in Boston for half a day, a DuckBoat tour would be awesome. My kids enjoy that. I'll think of some others.

If we're in town that day we'd love to have you over for lunch/dinner/bbq depending on your timing. We're right on that route.

Ok... I don't like the Red Sox, and haven't even looked at the schedule, but if I'm that close to Boston in the summer, I'd definitely have to consider seeing a game at Fenway.

A game at Fenway is a must do, at least once, if you're a baseball fan. However, a saturday night game, with the whole family, and a rowdy (i.e. drunk) Boston crowd? Probably not the best introduction to our lovely city. (Know thyself ;))

Surrender the voodoo doll and then she will put down the shiv.

Her first. I don't trust her. :scared:

Yankee Stadium opened in 2009 - so exactly one World Championship has been bought ... sorry, "won" there.

We're still finalizing the exact route, but there is a possibility. I'll let everyone know as soon as we have the route finalized.

Was it really 3 seconds? That seems like a lot.

Excellent idea! I'll look into those!

It's a good thing you don't work in advertising.

Just saw Marathon weekend has opened up registration today for DVC and AP holders. The Cheetah will be doing the full and both of us are doing (maybe, hopefully) the 5K.

Her first. I don't trust her. :scared:

On the count of three you both drop them.

We had a good time. She wasn't quite tall enough for some of the rides though. One was this cool steeplechase ride. Think a carrousel on heavy steroids. She was just a tad short but we tried to get on anyway. They nixed that and she commented, "I ride real horses and you won't let me on a fake one?"

I saw the Goofy medal... It's a spinner for the 10 year anniversary (a lot like the 20 year marathon one)... It's making me think I may have to do it...
