Thanks for asking, CJ. Started PT 2 weeks ago, making vast improvements. After 4/5 months of taking Percocet, I stopped taking them last week.

That is good news. Watch out with those PT people, they can be sadistic. Trust me, I know. "ONE MORE? YOU WANT ONE MORE? I GOT YOUR ONE MORE RIGHT HERE!" Had one that pushed me and pushed me. She was very pregnant and I told her I hope they were triplets. She was great though.

If you have any happy pills laying around, care to spread the wealth?

No closures here either... but the kids skating and tobogganing outings have been cancelled for two weeks straight now.

As for the "bug" going around... I got it. I was off work today, and am thinking I will likely be off tomorrow as well.

So you are not driving up to Ottawa to have dinner with me? It's only a short 4 hour drive.

Another single digit morning here in New Jersey. You know, I've been thinking, that generally Canadians are pretty nice people, but I wish they'd keep their damn air masses and clippers to themselves. There is a thing as sharing too much.

The kid called me yesterday, "Hack, hack, cough, cough. Imsick." She went to the Infirmary today and has some congestion in one of her lungs. They prescribed antibiotics. She is really down for the count. Twenty years old and I am still telling her to get rest, eat something and drink fluids. You would think I would grow out of being a nursemaid by now.

They are really playing up the cruise virus in Miami. NCL's corporate headquarters is here and the local news likes to do remotes from the port. They also make sure to mention it sailed from New Jersey. Willing to take my chances though.

We never grow out of being a dad.

The cruise came from NJ? That explains everything. Nothing good ever comes out of NJ.

See still lots of contention over school closures, what a winter. We had more fresh snow, and more deep freeze, but still no closures here yet. At least if there was a closure, we don't have to have a make-up day for it. I did feel a bit bad during drop-off though, some kids were sitting in the foyer, older kids in full snowsuits looking glum, I think an older-grade ski trip was cancelled.

Another near-sleepless night, so took a day to rest up. Think I might have DW's bug. I'm sure my boss is annoyed, seeing we are already going skeleton crew as it is...well tough, what am I supposed to do, spread it around?

FIL came home from the hospital last night. Seems to be feeling better. Blood tests were all negative so it must have been an infection or virus. Either way, he is feeling better.

Uncle still in hospital having fluid drains from his lungs. They think he'll recover, but it will be a few more days before he is past this episode and able to go home. In any event, he is resting comfortably with nurses at his beckon call.

And they say it comes in 3's. MIL was admitted to the hospital early this morning. They needed to call an ambulance due to pain and not feeling well. DW said they thought it may be Kidney stones, but who knows. At this rate, nothing is getting done around the house and we'll never be ready to travel in a few weeks. At this point, I may need prayers for everyone to get better so I don't have to cancel the Dominican trip.

Don't sweat the getting ready stuff. For our Hawaii/Disneyland trip I set the alarm to wake up a couple of hours before the car was supposed to come to take us to the airport. Screwed that up and awoke to the car guy calling me to say he was outside. Not yet packed but luckily the clothes were washed. Threw some stuff in the suitcase and we were out the door in 15 minutes. It can be done when vacation is calling. Hope everyone gets better and you have more than 15 minutes to pack.

Is it wrong for us to deny friends from coming over? They had some friends wanting to come over but we knew their sister and now dad is sick. We don't want to catch anything this close to our trip.

Good morning guys. Not even gonna comment on the cold temps as this @#$% is just old already. Should be Monday as DS is home sick today with the crud and the CC has been hacked which means new ones coming overnight which means have to change every iTunes, Amazon, Disney, etc etc account with new card information Card has fraud protection so no hit to us for the fraudulent charges so a minor pain in the backside to change stuff I can deal with.

And a piss-poor excuse for a half time extravaganza.

Rumor has it that there might also be a ball game played during that same time frame, but the media won’t be dwelling much on that aspect of the show.

That's fair. I am hopeful the game will be worth watching.

It's gonna be cold. But I'll be warm, watching the game from the heated comfort of my living room.

Speaking of cold - school has been canceled for today and tomorrow already. The kicker is the school district initially followed their own policy and posted to their Facebook page that school was open Monday. (Policy is that they will close when the National Weather Service issues a Wind Chill Warning. There is only a Wind Chill Advisory in effect for this morning) Well, 200 some people started spewing typically Facebook/Internet vile hatred in the comments on that post, and a few hours later that post was deleted and a new one went up - school is now CLOSED on Monday. I can't fault them closing tomorrow - an actual Wind Chill Warning has been issued, but I have a feeling that today was all about bowing to the pressure of a vocal minority.

You know what kills me the schools closed here in northern florida.... its supposed to get cold and the roads are supposed to ice but not till tomorrow they closed schools today. I dont get it.

It would have been better if Deion Sanders and Jerry Rice actually got into the game...

Hey, this stuff going around is nasty. I can't disagree with your logic.

Besides, you can always use the argument that if it is too cold/nasty to go to school, then they don't need to be going somewhere to play/hang out with friends.
