Morning...missing all the storms up here but back into a deep freeze. Absolutely brutal this morning, I hope the schools keep the kids in at recess. The walk there and back was torture.

All you Dads in the storm's path, please stay safe and warm.

Snow. Wind. Schools cancelled and day home from work. I may be easily break my record of days off from last year.
.

I don't think you'd last very long up here. :rotfl2: No school closures yet so far.

Mind you, I am SO ready for spring already....

Instead of worrying about what design Carl has in mind, you should envision what your design would be for Carl. Would be fun. And you are right, Jim should be down there next year. Not that he is man enough to put his foot down and go. I'll do the 5K if he will. May not make it to the end of the corral to start but will give it a shot. You up for a challenge big guy? If it was today you would wipe the floor with me.

If it was today, the winner would be the one that could walk faster.:lmao::lmao: I have an appointment with a new knee guy on Thursday for a second opinion. I am still not able to run correctly from the Dec. 2011 surgery.:mad: It may just be that I need to work through it, but there is still some swelling when I try. I mean immediately swells and feels weird. No pain, just weird. The other surgeon just keeps telling me to ice and then start again when it feels better.:headache: Every time I try to get him to do anything, he just kind of shrugs it off.

As long as they clear me for full activity and I can start exercising regularly, I'm in. I REALLY need to get in shape and lose the 25 pounds added since the surgery. It will give me some great motivation. And besides, that will be about the time the Pats are back in the playoffs again.:rolleyes1

Let's plan on it and I'll confirm as soon as I can get a firm answer medically.

Tomorrow they are forecasting 4-12inchs of snow:scared1:, IMO it will snow but they have absolutely no idea how much we are going to get:rolleyes1

What's the forecast by you Tim:confused3

They are predicting 5-8 where I am but closer to the shore and east talking about the possibility for 1ft.

We are looking at 6-12 in the forecast and really cold again. The forecast shows the worst part of the storm south of us, but we seem to be in the right place at the wrong time this year so we are planning for the higher totals. Stay safe dads!

I'm about 20 miles from the shore and about 750ft above sea level. If I get flooded then we all have some serious problems. :boat:

:rotfl2::rotfl2: When I bought my house, they tried to tell me I was in a flood zone because we have a small brook 300 yards away and about 30 feet below where my house sits. I eventually won the argument, but if my house floods, eastern Massachusetts will be wiped out.:confused3

Snow. Wind. Schools cancelled and day home from work. I may be easily break my record of days off from last year.

Nice to see your setting achievable goals.:lmao::lmao: Stay safe. It's hard to BBQ in 10 degrees and snow.

Morning Guys,

headed back into the deep freeze I guess. At least the blizzard is not coming here, it's about 60 miles south of us.

Have a good one.

Morning Darcy.:wave2: If you wouldn't mind taking the cold weather back it would be appreciated by us down here.:rolleyes1 I was enjoying the 40 degree January. This global warming concept is starting to grow on me. It needs to be accelerated.

Did somebody say something about a plank? pirate: pirate:

Yup, That's what the salmon is cooked on.

Looks like it's coming our way instead. I figure my wife won't go into labor until we're in the middle of it.:thumbsup2

At least you'll get on the news……..Next at 11, baby born in snow plow. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Keep lots of hot water and clean towels near by.

:scared1: It would make for a great story, I guess.

But you're with the DOT. You're the controller of the snow plows. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

I wish I had all the power you guys keep assigning to me. We were joking about a snowplow convoy this morning, though.:rotfl2:

We need a midwife in Delaware. STAT!

Remember the beginning of Talladega Nights?:rotfl:

At least you'll get on the news……..Next at 11, baby born in snow plow. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Is Polar Vortex a good name for a kid?:confused3

I've been watching Walking Dead first three seasons on Netflix over these cold days off from school. I still don't understand how the zombies are dumb enough some time not to even extend their foot to walk, but then other times, are breaking glass doors with rocks.

I still need to get a crossbow and sword.

I don't think you'd last very long up here. :rotfl2: No school closures yet so far.

Mind you, I am SO ready for spring already....

I'm not lasting very well here.

Nice to see your setting achievable goals.:lmao::lmao: Stay safe. It's hard to BBQ in 10 degrees and snow.
:

Exercise - not likely. Days off - absolutely.

I have a problem with the full being on Sunday. I'm pretty sure we are taking the kids and I really can't have Juliana out of school for any extra days. We are taking her out for a week in September already. I don't want to run the full in the morning and get on a plane that night. :faint:

I've done it a couple times. Getting on the plane isn't an issue, it's getting up after sitting down for 3 hours...:headache:

Good morning guys! Looks like its going to be a cold and snowy week for some of us. Headed home after a 1230 meeting to make sure I get off of the roads before the craziness starts to happen on the highways. Tomorrow will likely be a snow day. This area practically shuts down with a little dusting! But, I'll be heading to WDW this weekend and hoping for warmer weather.

How's that plank challenge going, DisDads? I'm working on the push up challenge and I hate it already. Details to follow.

So far, so hurts!

Looks like it's coming our way instead. I figure my wife won't go into labor until we're in the middle of it.:thumbsup2

Scotty and Dave can remind the kid that the stain in the living room is from him/her.

But you're with the DOT. You're the controller of the snow plows. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

I'd like to find out who the idiot is here who is in control of the plows.

Just saw that there was a shooting on Purdue's campus. Sounds like a TA was shot and the suspect is in custody.

Haven't heard from my sister yet and she's on campus, but shouldn't have been anywhere near the building where the shooting took place.

I hope she is ok.

There was a knife attack yesterday at the college where I used to teach. Crazy world.

Prayers that she is OK. This &#%$$@^ really has to stop. I'm not sure what the solution is, but daily reports of school and campus shootings is getting a little much.

:sad2::sad2:

Isn't that what they have the men do in the old movies - boil water and get clean towels?

I thought they screamed profanities at them for getting them into this mess.

I think that's just the women's way of getting them out of their way.

Or that.

Jim Gaffigan had a funny take on the man's role during childbirth. He said the "cutting of the cord" ceremony arose out of a thought process that said, "Well, we might as well give this incompetent dope something to do." :rotfl2:

Scotty and Dave can remind the kid that the stain in the living room is from him/her.

Why not? The kids have already gotten plenty of other bodily fluids on the carpet. :crazy2"

Goodness. Way too many of these lately. I hope everyone is ok.

In the attack here, an instructor was in surgery for 5 hours to work on her knife wounds and two other students were treated and released. The attacker was ex-military and it sounds like he suffered from PTSD.

I've heard from my sister. As I suspected she was in the animal science building which is as far as she could possibly be across campus from where the shooting took place. She said they have ended the lockdown with the exception of the Electrical Engineering building, which is where the shooting took place.

There have been a lot of rumors that I've seen and she's seen about how many shooters there were and how many were shot. She has a friend who is in that building that has texted her and said the only victim was a TA who was shot 3 times, but there is a rumor that a student was shot too... I've heard nothing as to whether there have been any fatalities or how severe it was.

Thanks to social media being rampant, I saw a grainy picture of what appears to be a guy wearing a hoody carrying an assault rifle by his side in front of a building near where the shooting took place. I don't know how authentic it is or anything, but he'd have had to walk far enough from where that picture was taken to the EE building that I don't see how he'd get that far carrying a weapon like that in plain sight. :confused3

Either way, thanks for the concern guys, and prayers to those who were shot and those who were/are locked in the EE building while this all gets sorted out.
