I have a problem with the full being on Sunday. I'm pretty sure we are taking the kids and I really can't have Juliana out of school for any extra days. We are taking her out for a week in September already. I don't want to run the full in the morning and get on a plane that night.

I like the new layout of the CG. Seems much more open, the windows are bigger and the restaurant has an overall modern feel..

Thanks for the review. Cali Grill is one of my favorites because if the food, but mostly location. My only complaint was that it was a bit noisy. Has that improved? Sorry to hear the fireworks view was blocked.

They are predicting 5-8 where I am but closer to the shore and east talking about the possibility for 1ft.

This is what scares me I'm far enough from the ocean that I will not flood but I can ride a bike and be there in 10min, it really scares me when they are saying a min of 4ins with a possible 12 in or more, did these people go to school for this, I think with that kind of gap I could do the forecast

I'm about 20 miles from the shore and about 750ft above sea level. If I get flooded then we all have some serious problems.

What a Amazing view from CG, after running all those races the Pirate Princess deserves a nice dinner

I do have 1 question were you hungary when you left, I know it is gourmet, but the portions look like appetizers

The picture is a bit misleading and the portions are bigger than they look. I am more of a grazer than eat a big meal person. Saying that, enough food for me but maybe not for others.

Thanks for the comments on the recap. I do it for us to have a history of what happened on our trips.

You can always load Mel and the kids on the plane on Sunday and fly out Monday. You may get shived when you return home on Monday but you could do it. DD talked to the doc when she might have flown out the night after the full. His suggestion was to keep hydrated and wear compression socks and she would be fine. Not sure if that would be OK with an old guy like you.

No snow predicted here. Surprise. There was a story on the news last night where 37 years ago it actually snowed in Miami. I was a Freshman at Florida and not to far removed from living in Syracuse. A fair amount of snow in Gainesville and I walked around in shorts, no socks and a sweatshirt. Things have changed since then. And yes, I am that old.

One of my biggest problems I had at the old Cali was the noise. Seemed a lot quieter this time. Maybe because there were a lot of runners and they were too exhausted to make any noise. Or the more open space helped.

One good note is where the Pirate Princess is she should be far enough inland where there will not be that much snow since it's supposed to be a coastal storm, but just coming back from Fla. no matter what amount is going to be a shock

I would prefer quality over quantity at WDW. I find I am not a big eater there for whatever the reason. Those portions look good to me.

Snow. Wind. Schools cancelled and day home from work. I may be easily break my record of days off from last year.

Disney vacation over for her and so was her Christmas break. Flight took off at 8:00 and she was back in Jersey at 10:30. Her first class was 3:30 that day. One night eating at the California Grill, the next day, lunch at the Cafeteria. Talk about a shock.

Brutal. But I can't think of a better way to end the break. I'm glad you got to spend that valuable time together before she headed off. Even if it wasn't exactly just some father/daughter alone time.

All in all a fun trip. Really proud of the Cheetah and how she demolished the Dopey Challenge.
